Includes design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show.
Billed by the show
- Booth space (paid to the organizer)
- Material handling / drayage, where the space rate does not include it
- Electrical service, internet and rigging
- Booth cleaning and any union labor the venue requires
Published rates:
- Booth space, inline: $37.25 per sq ft, 2027 rate
- Booth space, island: $43.25 per sq ft, 2027 rate
- Drayage: About $210 per cwt, 200 lb minimum, 2026–2027 planning rate
Key dates
- Last date for space cancellations or reductions: February 12, 2027
- Design sign-off with Purple: Mid-April 2027
- Mid-April 2027: Design sign-off, instrument list and power plan locked; island drawings prepared for show approval.
- Late April to May 2027: Production in Fishkill, NY; graphics and lightbox images proofed against your real product shots.
- Late May to early June 2027: Booth ships crated to the advance warehouse for McCormick Place.
- June 20–22, 2027: Published move-in: islands Sunday, June 20; standard booths June 21–22. Our project manager leads the install.
- June 22–25, 2027: Opening Reception June 22, exhibit hall June 23–24; your Purple project manager stays on the floor.
- June 24–25, 2027: Move-out from 5:30 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday; booth to storage or your next show.

Checklist
- Note your booth number, size and booth type from your ASM Microbe contract
- List every instrument with dimensions, weight and power needs
- Decide which of the three meetings is your main audience
- Choose demo content: live software, replica plates, sealed samples or video
- Send logo, brand palette, product photography and application data to Purple
- Approve the concept rendering and the lightbox images
- Book hotels near McCormick Place, such as the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place
- Plan staffing for the Opening Reception and both exhibit hall days
