ASM Microbe now runs as three co-located meetings under one roof: the ASM Health Meeting, the ASM Applied & Environmental Microbiology Meeting and the ASM Mechanism Discovery Meeting, all sharing one Exhibit and Poster Hall. Logistics for ASM Microbe 2027, handled
ASM Microbe 2027 sits on Level 3 of the McCormick Place West Building. Island booths move in Sunday, June 20 and standard booths June 21–22, with move-out from 5:30 p.m. on June 24. Since the MPEA reforms your own full-time staff may assemble the booth, but dock-to-booth material handling stays Teamster work billed by weight. We read the ASM exhibitor service kit, file the forms, ship crated freight to the advance warehouse on time and install with our own project manager and vetted local labor.

ASM Microbe 2027 uses one hall on the McCormick Place campus: West Building, Level 3, Halls 1 and 2, the shared Exhibit and Poster Hall for all three meetings.

Our advice: Traffic comes in waves around poster times, so keep the booth front open and your data screen where people pause.
The Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and the Marriott Marquis Chicago sit on the McCormick Place campus, which makes this a meeting that leans on hotel foot traffic.
Our advice: Book staff at the Hyatt or the Marriott Marquis and they reach the booth without a shuttle.
ASM's exhibitor service kit sets the freight targets, and every shipment is addressed to the West Building with the hall and booth number.

Questions exhibitors ask us before ASM Microbe
How much does a booth at ASM Microbe 2027 cost?
Plan from $3,500 for a 10×10 rental, $7,500 to $15,000 for a 10×20 rental, and $50,000 to $120,000 for a custom 20×20 island. Instrument counters, lightboxes and an enclosed meeting room move the number most. ASM bills floor space on its own, at $37.25 per square foot inline and $43.25 for islands in 2027.
What is the deadline for ASM Microbe 2027 exhibitors?
ASM stops refunding cancelled or reduced space after February 12, 2027, and requests before February 6 still owe half the fees, so settle your footprint early. For the booth, we need design sign-off by mid-April 2027 to build in 30 to 45 days and reach the advance warehouse before the June 20 island move-in.
Can we rent a booth for ASM Microbe, and what does a rental include?
Yes. A rental covers the frame, custom printed graphics, counters, lighting, freight, install and dismantle. We can add a custom instrument counter or a lightbox for culture-plate images to a rental frame, which is how many first-time ASM Microbe exhibitors start before they commit to an owned booth.
Can we set up our own booth at McCormick Place?
Yes, at any size, if the work is done by full-time employees of your company with their own tools, a right that dates to the 2010 MPEA Reform Act. Freight from the dock to your booth is still Teamster work, and only one person carrying under 30 pounds in one trip skips it.
What booth sizes and rules does ASM Microbe publish?
Space sells in 10×10 increments, islands start at 20×20, and each 10×10 inline comes with an 8 ft back drape and 3 ft side dividers. Booths of 300 square feet or less get a one-line identification sign from Freeman. We design inline walls to the 8 ft line and size islands from your instrument list.
What does drayage cost at McCormick Place for ASM Microbe?
Drayage is billed to you by weight. Our planning number for McCormick Place is about $210 per hundredweight for 2026 and 2027, with a 200 pound minimum and 25 to 35 percent surcharges for late, uncrated or off-target freight. We crate everything and hit the advance warehouse window, and the estimate is on your proposal.
Which hall is ASM Microbe 2027 in?
The Exhibit and Poster Hall is West Building, Level 3, Halls 1 and 2. The West Building connects to the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place by an enclosed walkway, so attendees arrive from the hotel side. We address your freight with building, hall and booth number so it reaches the right dock.
Can we reuse the booth at other lab and life science shows?
Yes. Exhibitors here often follow with ADLM, also at McCormick Place in July, then ASMS, ACS Fall and Pittcon. We design panels and counters to reconfigure between an inline and an island, store the booth between shows and swap graphics when your audience changes from clinical to analytical.
