The short answer

Staffing a booth at IBS and KBIS

At IBS and KBIS, buyers judge the room first and the person standing in it a second later. Purple Exhibits provides IBS + KBIS booth staff: product presenters, trade show models, cooking demo hosts, design desk coordinators and booth reps for exhibitors at Design & Construction Week. Every role costs $85 per person per hour, with a four-hour minimum. Our crew lives in Las Vegas, so your invoice carries no flights, hotels or travel fees. DCW 2027 runs February 2–4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where the NAHB International Builders’ Show and the NKBA Kitchen & Bath Industry Show share the week. It is trade-only. TISE fills Mandalay Bay on the same three days, so local staff book up early. Aim for eight weeks out; we still accept rush requests with 72 hours’ notice.

Real Purple crews, ready for the showroom

Hosts, reps and crew leads from real Purple Exhibits booths. Polished, briefed on the product and comfortable talking to designers and builders.

Board 01 · Booth rep (top of page). A rep in a white shirt and black trousers shows a design buyer the line on a tablet, inside a showroom booth of woven pendants and rattan furniture.

That is the standard we bring to DCW: a crew that knows the collection, dresses for the room and keeps every meeting on time.

Finish schedule

Choose the look for your DCW crew

Four uniform styles that suit builder and kitchen and bath booths. Use one for the whole crew or assign them by room.

Showroom blazer

Navy or neutral blazers over a light top, dark trousers or a skirt. It matches a premium kitchen without competing with it.

Works best: KBIS rooms, design desk, launches

Builder polo

Logo polos or quarter-zips with dark chinos and comfortable shoes. Practical and credible next to windows, siding and tools.

Works best: IBS displays, walk-throughs, scan desk

Chef-counter apron

A crisp branded apron over a white or black shirt. It ties the demo counter staff to the cooking show.

Works best: Cooking demo, tasting trays

Evening tailored

Dark tailored suits or cocktail dresses in one palette for designer receptions and builder dinners on the Strip.

Works best: Receptions, suites, dinners

Send the dress code with your finish list. We brief every staffer on clothing, shoes and name badges during setup, so the crew reads as one team.

Two shows, one week

IBS and KBIS need different crews

Organizers expect more than 2,350 brands across the two shows. A siding wall and a showroom kitchen pull different visitors, so the staff plan changes too.

Services

IBS + KBIS staffing services

Eight services exhibitors book for Design & Construction Week 2027, all at $85 per hour per person. Need staff for other Las Vegas shows this year? See our Las Vegas booth staffing and trade show models page.

SVC-01

Trade show models for IBS and KBIS

Models stand with the bath suite or the hero kitchen for photos and first questions. They learn the collection names, so a designer asking about a finish gets a straight answer.

SVC-02

Brand ambassadors

Ambassadors hold the aisle entry, trade catalogs and samples for a badge scan and send builders and designers to the right room.

SVC-03

Promotional models

For a launch hour or a press moment, promo models hand out samples and keep the photo spot in front of your new product moving.

SVC-04

Hostesses

Hostesses serve tasting trays at the demo counter and run check-in at suites, receptions and builder dinners.

SVC-05

Product presenters and demonstrators

Presenters demo touchless faucets, smart appliances, windows or siding systems on a set loop and pass technical questions to your engineers.

SVC-06

Registration and appointment staff

A coordinator runs the designer appointment desk, confirms each slot and greets booked dealers by name.

SVC-07

Lead capture and booth reps

Reps ask builders, remodelers and designers what they are working on, tag each scan and book follow-ups for your sales team.

SVC-08

Multilingual staff

DCW draws international buyers. Ask for the languages your dealers and distributors speak and we confirm who is available with your quote.

Demo counter

Run sheet for a cooking demo

Appliance brands at KBIS often cook live. The food is your chef’s job. Filling the seats, serving the tastings and capturing the leads is ours.

Call the aisle

Ten minutes before each round, a host invites passers-by in and fills every stool at the counter.

Chef cooks, presenter explains

Your chef works the range. Our presenter points out the burners, the oven modes and the hood while the food cooks.

Tasting tray round

A hostess walks small bites through the crowd and keeps the counter clean between plates.

Recipe for a scan

Recipe cards go out in exchange for a badge scan, so each taster leaves as a lead.

Repeat every hour. Between rounds the host stays at the counter, so it never looks closed.

Walk-throughs and meetings

Hosts for model homes and designer desks

Two jobs that show up at DCW more than at most shows. Each one needs a dedicated person, not a rep doing it on the side.

Mostly IBS

Model-home walk-through hosts

Full builds with windows, siding and finished rooms invite people to step inside. Two hosts greet builders at the front door, give a short guided loop and note what each one asked about.

  • Greet at the door and scan the badge
  • A five-minute loop with three talking points
  • Notes on each builder for your sales team
Mostly KBIS

Designer appointment desk

Designers and dealers often plan their show around booked meetings. A coordinator runs your calendar, confirms each slot, greets guests by name and keeps your designers moving on time.

  • Calendar set up before the show
  • Walk-ins offered the next open slot
  • A clean list of every meeting at close

Punch list

Five DCW staffing mistakes to fix before February

ITEM 01

Booking after the city fills up

TISE runs at Mandalay Bay on the same dates. Las Vegas staff and hotel rooms go quickly, so book early.

ITEM 02

A quiet demo counter between rounds

An empty counter looks closed. Keep a host there to chat and seat the next round.

ITEM 03

Presenters who guess finish names

Designers ask for the exact finish and collection. Send us your finish list and we brief on it.

ITEM 04

Catalogs handed out for free

Catalogs are heavy and cost money to print. Give one only for a badge scan.

ITEM 05

One crew plan for both floors

A siding display and a showroom kitchen need different people. Plan each booth for its own crowd.

Purple Exhibits Las Vegas team
Checked by our DCW coordinators · Updated

How much do IBS and KBIS booth staff cost?

Each person is $85 per hour, with a four-hour minimum. Presenters, models, demo hosts, coordinators and reps all cost the same. Our crew is based in Las Vegas, so we add no travel fees, flights or hotels.

When and where is Design & Construction Week 2027?

February 2–4, 2027, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. IBS and KBIS run side by side for the 14th year of DCW. After the 2026 week in Orlando, the shows return to Las Vegas, their long-term home through 2030.

Do you staff both IBS and KBIS booths?

Yes. We staff building-product booths at IBS and showroom booths at KBIS. A KBIS registration also covers the IBS exhibits, so many visitors walk both floors.

How far ahead should I book staff for IBS and KBIS 2027?

Eight weeks out is a safe target. TISE runs at Mandalay Bay on the same dates, so local staff and hotels fill early that week. We still take rush bookings with 72 hours’ notice.

Can your staff help run a cooking demo?

Yes. Your chef or culinary team does the cooking. Our host fills the seats and times the rounds, a hostess serves tasting trays, and a presenter explains the appliance.

Can presenters demo smart faucets and appliances?

Yes. Send us product sheets, finish names and the questions buyers ask most. We brief the crew and walk the booth with them during setup. Deep technical questions go to your team.

How many people does a kitchen and bath booth need?

Plan one presenter for every two rooms or displays, plus a scan ambassador and a booth rep. Add demo staff and a desk coordinator if you run them. The crew estimator on this page does the math.

Do you staff model-home displays at IBS?

Yes. Two walk-through hosts greet builders at the door, lead a short loop and pass notes on each visitor to your sales team.

Can you run our designer appointment desk?

Yes. A coordinator sets up your calendar before the show, confirms slots, greets each guest and keeps your designers on time.

What happens if a staff member cancels?

We keep standby staff in Las Vegas for the whole week. A briefed replacement arrives within two hours, or that shift is free.

Are you the official IBS or KBIS staffing company?

No. Purple Exhibits is an independent company hired by exhibitors. We are not affiliated with NAHB, NKBA or Design & Construction Week.

Can Purple build our DCW booth as well?

Yes. We design, build and install exhibits in Las Vegas, including kitchen and bath vignettes, and plan the staffing for the same booth.

Where can I hire booth staff near the Las Vegas Convention Center?

Book through Purple Exhibits by phone or with the quote form on this page. Our crew lives in Las Vegas and works every LVCC hall and the hotels around it, such as Westgate and Resorts World, with no travel fees.

Can I book promotional models for just one day of DCW?

Yes. Book one show day, a single launch or one evening reception. Each booking has a four-hour minimum per person at $85 per hour.

What should our IBS or KBIS booth staff wear?

Match the room. Showroom booths often choose blazers, builder booths pick logo polos, demo counters use aprons and evening events go tailored. Send your dress code and colors and every staffer is briefed on it before setup.
