What makes APCO different, and how we build for it
APCO is the annual meeting of the people who run 9-1-1 and emergency communications centers, and they come to buy. The exhibit hall is open for two days only, and in San Antonio in 2026 it held the APCO Pavilion, the Presentation Theater, the Product Showcase, an AI Showcase, Public Safety Vehicles and K9 Dog Demos. Attendees arrive from 11 professional development tracks, so they walk the floor with specific questions about CAD, radio, NG9-1-1, cybersecurity and call handling, and expect a working answer at your console.
A clear comparison of your platform against what their center runs today, budget and procurement talk at a seated table, and references from agencies of a similar size.
Hands on a live console: call-taking, CAD, mapping or radio workflows they can try themselves, with a product specialist beside them to answer how it handles a real shift.
Proof of interoperability with their radio systems and field units, uptime and cybersecurity answers, and a fast read on deployment time.

Two shops, one project manager, every hall
We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the Anaheim Convention Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.
Your team walks into a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.

Popular booth sizes at APCO
APCO drew more than 200 exhibitors in 2026, from radio and CAD vendors on large islands to software startups in 10×10 inlines, and inline space comes with an 8-foot back drape and 3-foot side rails. We recommend a 10×20 with two demo consoles for most software vendors, or a 20×20 island with a dispatch-style demo row.

Two demo consoles set up like dispatch positions, a radio or hardware display and a standing table for center directors.

Case study · KLEEMANN
KLEEMANN at a industrial technology exhibition
An interactive booth for a global elevator manufacturer: digital simulations, real product showcases and a floor plan that guided visitors from first step to last.
Different industry, same problem: KLEEMANN let visitors run digital simulations beside real hardware, and APCO buyers want to work your console beside the radios it controls.

04 Designing for public safety communications technology companies at APCO
Four things we get right for APCO exhibitors
1Build demo stations like real consoles
Telecommunicators judge software by how it feels at a position. We build sit-down or sit-stand consoles with multi-monitor arms, headsets and task lighting, so a visitor can run a call or a CAD workflow the way they do on a shift.
2Plan for two short exhibit days
The hall is open twelve hours across July 26 and 27, and APCO protects 7.5 of them as exclusive exhibit time. We design a clear entry point, a five-minute demo loop and a quiet table, so your team can qualify a center director fast and book the follow-up meeting before the Tuesday 3 p.m. close.
Control screen glare and sound
Dispatch maps and CAD screens wash out under bright hall light, and audio demos get lost in aisle noise. We set screen angles, use matte graphics around monitors and plan headsets or directional speakers for any call audio.
Give radio hardware the right display
Portable radios, consoles and gateways need secure, lit mounts with hidden power and cabling. We build locking display cases and charging bays and pad every device in its own crate for the trip to Anaheim.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this

Logistics for APCO 2027, handled
The Anaheim Convention Center is the largest convention center on the West Coast, with Halls A–E and the Grand Plaza, and it works under the Greater LA/Orange County trade show labor agreement: exhibitors can set up alone only if the work needs no hand tools, one person, under 30 minutes and nothing over 10 feet. Tradeshow Logic is APCO's general service contractor, Smart City holds internet and booth carpet is required. We order carpet, electrical and internet, file the certificate of insurance naming APCO, Tradeshow Logic and the venue, and install with our own project manager and vetted local labor before move-in closes.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Anaheim Convention Center exhibitor guide.
Hall guide
APCO publishes its floor plan with booth numbers, and these are the halls this building uses. Each one changes how your consoles, rigging and freight are planned.
The exhibit halls on the main level, part of more than 1 million square feet of flexible exhibit space that makes this the largest exhibit facility on the West Coast.
Our advice: Your hall sets the rigging points and dock route. We plan the hanging sign and freight once your booth number and its hall are on the floor plan.
The $190-million expansion that opened in 2017, with two levels of flexible space and the 10,000-square-foot Katella Terrace overlooking Katella Avenue.
Our advice: If APCO places a function in ACC North, its open floor suits tall towers and video walls that read across the room.
A 100,000-square-foot outdoor plaza with 36,000 square feet of usable event space, part of 200,000 square feet of outdoor space on the campus, used for receptions and activations and exposed to weather.
Our advice: Vehicle or outdoor displays need their own power and rigging plan. We map it before anything ships.

Questions exhibitors ask us before APCO
How much does a booth at APCO 2027 cost?
From us, a 10×20 rental, the footprint we recommend for two demo consoles, runs $7,500 to $15,000, and a custom 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000. At APCO the number moves with the count of live consoles, monitors and radio displays. Floor space is billed by APCO, and show services by Tradeshow Logic.
What is the deadline for the lower APCO 2027 space rate?
APCO charges $28 per square foot for space booked through December 31, 2026, and $31 from January 1, 2027, so a 20×20 costs $1,200 more after New Year. Commercial Group members earn a 7% rebate for space reserved and paid in full by December 31. We need design sign-off by mid-May 2027.
Can we rent a booth for APCO, and what does a rental include?
Yes. A rental includes the structure, your printed graphics, demo counters, monitor mounts, lighting, shipping and installation. Many APCO exhibitors rent the walls and add custom console furniture built like real dispatch positions, which we store and send to the next show.
Can we set up our own booth at the Anaheim Convention Center?
Only a very simple one. Under the Greater LA/Orange County trade show labor agreement you can set up alone if the job needs no hand tools, one person, under 30 minutes and nothing longer than 10 feet. Anything bigger takes contracted labor, which we book and our project manager directs.
What does APCO include with booth space?
Inline space comes with an 8-foot back drape, 3-foot side rails, a 7 by 44 inch company ID sign, two full exhibitor badges per 10×10 and daily aisle cleaning. Carpet, furniture, electrical, internet, AV and material handling are extra, and booth carpet is required, so we put each of those on the proposal.
What does drayage cost at APCO and who pays it?
You pay material handling to Tradeshow Logic, by the hundredweight. Our Anaheim planning figure is about $170 to $180 per hundredweight for 2026 and 2027 with a 200-pound minimum; the exhibitor kit carries the binding rate. Consoles and radios are heavy, so we weigh every crate and show the estimate on your proposal.
Do you handle Tradeshow Logic and Smart City orders for APCO?
Yes. We order carpet, electrical, material handling and labor through Tradeshow Logic, book Smart City internet for live demos, and file the certificate of insurance at $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate naming APCO, Tradeshow Logic and the venue. Without it, your team cannot enter the hall for set-up.
Can we reuse our APCO booth at other shows?
The same consoles and walls work at ESX in Tampa, ISC West in Las Vegas and InfoComm in Orlando, with graphics swapped for each audience. Between shows we store the booth, test every monitor arm and power run, and ship it to the next advance warehouse.
Before you sign with anyone
Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for APCO:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
