80% attend no other PACK EXPO: PACK EXPO East 2028 booths in Philadelphia
58% of PACK EXPO East visitors are first-timers, so we build booths that explain the machine fast: the running station at eye level, walls drawn to PMMI's height tier and a seat for the engineer. We time your truck to its assigned target date so it checks in at the Pennsylvania Convention Center by noon.

What makes PACK EXPO East different, and how we build for it
PMMI pitches PACK EXPO East as its East Coast connection, and its crowd is its own: 80% of attendees go to no other PACK EXPO show and 58% are first-time visitors. The 2026 edition, the show's 10th year, drew more than 7,300 attendees to the Pennsylvania Convention Center and launched the Containers and Materials Pavilion and an Incubator Hub with Ben Franklin Technology Partners. For March 2028 the floor fills Exhibit Halls A–C, the Reusable Packaging Pavilion stays reserved for Reusable Packaging Association members, and every booth under 600 sq ft stops at 12 feet with no hanging sign, so the machine itself has to stop the aisle.
To watch the machine run their own format at speed, see changeover and guarding up close, and get straight answers on footprint, utilities and integration with the line they already run.
Containers, films, paperboard and closures they can handle side by side, recyclability claims backed by spec sheets, and a supplier who quotes lead times on the spot.
27% of attendees come from companies with $1 million to $9 million in revenue. They want an entry-level machine they can picture on their own floor, a price range and a service answer before they leave.
Your team in Philadelphia
Two shops, one project manager, every hall
We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.

Rules that shape your booth
Booths of 599 sq ft or less top out at 12 feet with no hanging sign, 600 to 1,499 sq ft reach 14 feet, and 1,500 sq ft or more reach 18 feet, with setback and line-of-sight rules on top. We draw every wall and header to your tier.
Drayage and material handling sit inside the $34.25 per sq ft standard space rate only when your shipment checks in at the Pennsylvania Convention Center by 12:00 pm on its assigned target move-in date. We hold that target and time the truck to it.
Priority Space Selection runs in late February 2027 by priority points, PMMI members first, and only companies whose contract and 25% deposit arrive by February 1, 2027 take part. We send your footprint options before then so the call with PMMI goes quickly.
Nobody under 16, infants included, may enter the exhibit floor during move-in and move-out, and nobody under 14 during show days. We staff the install with adult crews only and flag the rule before anyone plans to bring family along to help set up.
Programs worth planning for
A 2028 floor destination for containers, paperboard, glass, metal, plastic and recyclable or biodegradable materials, aimed at companies refreshing a brand, improving sustainability or launching products. New in 2026, its space sells through PMMI exhibit sales.
A gathering point for reusable transport packaging, where exhibitors show product innovations, system services and technologies. Exhibiting here is open only to member companies of the Reusable Packaging Association.
Free sessions where industry experts, suppliers and innovators give attendees practical takeaways. Exhibitors who want to present at the 2028 show can apply when PMMI opens speaking applications in October 2027.
Members get discounted exhibit space and select booths ahead of non-members; companies that join by February 1, 2027 and file their contract and 25% deposit by then take part in priority booth selection for PACK EXPO East 2028.

02 Booths & pricing for PACK EXPO East 2028
Popular booth sizes at PACK EXPO East
PMMI's standard PACK EXPO East space rate is $34.25 per sq ft, and its height tiers shape the floor: anything up to 599 sq ft, from a 10×10 to a 20×20 island, stops at 12 feet with no hanging sign. We recommend a 10×20 or 10×30 for one running machine, or a 20×30, the first footprint allowed 14 feet.

04 Designing for packaging and processing machinery, materials and automation suppliers at PACK EXPO East
Four things we get right for PACK EXPO East exhibitors
1Make the machine the sign
PACK EXPO East caps every booth under 600 sq ft at 12 feet and bans hanging signs on them, so nothing floats above the aisle to find you. We raise the machine on a plinth so the moving station sits at eye level, run a lit header to the 12-foot line and print the guard panels.
Plan for the noon check-in
Material handling at PACK EXPO East sits inside your space rate only when the truck checks in at the Pennsylvania Convention Center by 12:00 pm on its assigned target date. We load the machine, crates and booth on one truck, dispatch it for a morning arrival and keep the driver's number on our project manager's phone.
Pre-wire for show electricians
Pennsylvania Convention Center rules hand every light fixture, lit sign and stem light to show electricians whenever an exhibitor-appointed contractor builds the booth. We build headers and lightboxes with one plug-in point each, order that electrician time ahead and schedule it before the machine is set, so graphics are lit before the first test run.
Draw around columns and exits
The venue's floor plans for Exhibit Halls A–C mark major columns that need 5 feet of clearance on every side for electrical service and fire-hose connections, and 15 feet must stay open in front of exit doors. Once PMMI assigns your space, we overlay the machine footprint and crate path on that plan before production starts.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this

Logistics for PACK EXPO East 2028, handled
The Pennsylvania Convention Center, overseen by Legends Global, sets its own exhibitor work rules (January 2026 edition): your full-time employees may build a booth of any size with their own power tools and ladders up to 6 feet, but only when no exhibitor-appointed contractor is hired. When we install, our project manager leads the building's show labor, and show electricians install every light fixture, lit sign and stem light. PACK EXPO Services handles move-in, move-out and freight for PMMI, so we file its orders and time the truck to your target date. Expovision, the only official housing partner, opens hotel booking in April 2027.
Hall guide
PMMI puts the 2028 show in Exhibit Halls A–C, three of the five connected halls on the Pennsylvania Convention Center's exhibit level. Here is what the venue's own floor plans mean for a booth with a machine in it.
Part of a single run of five exhibit halls, A at the 11th Street end through E at Broad Street, inside a building with 528,000 sq ft of contiguous exhibit space.
Our advice: With no hanging signs below 600 sq ft, sightlines across Halls A–C stay open, so a running station that faces a main aisle reads from far down the hall.
Hall A's loading area has docks 15 to 28 and a drive-in ramp; Hall B loads through docks 7 to 14 with its own drive-in ramp.
Our advice: We plan each crate path from the closest dock and time the truck to your noon check-in, so heavy machines roll in before walls go up.
Venue plans mark major columns in Halls A–C with a 5-foot clearance on each side for electrical services and fire-hose connections, and 15 feet stays clear of every exit doorway.
Our advice: We overlay your booth on the hall plan right after space selection, so no machine, counter or crate lands inside a required clearance.

PACK EXPO East exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before PACK EXPO East
How much does a booth at PACK EXPO East 2028 cost?
Start with the 10×20 that holds one running machine: $7,500 to $15,000 as a rental or $15,000 to $45,000 custom. A 20×30, the smallest footprint allowed 14 feet, runs $75,000 to $175,000 custom. Machine plinths, guarding and crating move our price most. PMMI bills space at the $34.25 per sq ft standard rate, or $6,850 for a 10×20, with drayage included for trucks that check in on time.
What is the deadline to book space at PACK EXPO East 2028?
February 1, 2027. PMMI opens contracts on October 26, 2026, and only companies whose contract and 25% deposit arrive by February 1 join Priority Space Selection in late February, members first, then non-members by priority points. After that, booths sell first come, first served. For the build itself we need design sign-off by early January 2028.
Can we rent a booth for PACK EXPO East, and what comes with it?
A PACK EXPO East rental is drawn to the height tier your footprint falls in: under 600 sq ft that means a frame and printed back wall that stop at 12 feet, a lit header, a machine plinth with guard rail, a spec counter and lockable storage. Freight timed to your target check-in, install and dismantle in Halls A–C sit on one fixed proposal.
Can our own staff set up the booth at the Pennsylvania Convention Center?
Only without an installer. The building's January 2026 work rules let your full-time employees set up and tear down a booth of any size with their own power tools and ladders up to 6 feet, and unload a personally owned sedan, SUV, pickup or van. Hire an exhibitor-appointed contractor and show labor installs every light fixture, lit sign and stem light. Our project manager leads that install.
How tall can our booth be at PACK EXPO East?
Square footage sets it. A 10×10, 10×20 or 20×20 island, anything to 599 sq ft, tops out at 12 feet and may not hang a sign. Booths of 600 sq ft up to 1,499 sq ft may climb to 14 feet; 1,500 sq ft and larger reach 18 feet. PMMI adds setback and line-of-sight rules to every tier, so we draw to yours from the first sketch.
Is drayage included at PACK EXPO East 2028?
Yes, with a condition. PMMI folds drayage and material handling into the $34.25 per sq ft standard space rate, covering the move from your truck to the booth and back, provided the shipment checks in at the Pennsylvania Convention Center by 12:00 pm on its assigned target move-in date. The Rules & Regulations list special assessment pricing, which is why we hold that target date.
Which halls does PACK EXPO East 2028 use?
Exhibit Halls A–C of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, part of a line of five exhibit halls that runs from 11th Street toward Broad Street. Hall A loads through docks 15 to 28 with a drive-in ramp, and Hall B through docks 7 to 14 with its own ramp. Once PMMI assigns your space, we plan the crate path from the closest dock.
Can we reuse our PACK EXPO East booth at other shows?
We build PACK EXPO East booths in modules, so the plinth, counters and lit header that served PACK EXPO Southeast in Atlanta or PACK EXPO Las Vegas can come to Philadelphia, trimmed to the 12-foot tier if they stand taller, then travel on to INTERPHEX in New York with walls cut or extended to its rules. Between shows we store the kit and reprint graphics.
Do you handle PACK EXPO Services orders and the other official vendors?
We do. PACK EXPO Services covers move-in, move-out, freight, booth services and furnishings, so we place those orders and hold your target date. We also line up XPress Leads lead retrieval and Maritz badge registration, your Nvytes Customer Invite Program list and the MapYourShow listing, and remind you when Expovision opens hotels in April 2027.
When is PACK EXPO East 2028?
PACK EXPO East 2028 runs Tuesday, March 21 through Thursday, March 23, 2028. The floor opens 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday. Exhibitor dates start earlier: PMMI opens space contracts October 26, 2026, and the contract and 25% deposit for Priority Space Selection are due February 1, 2027.
Where is PACK EXPO East 2028 held?
At the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch Street in Philadelphia, in Exhibit Halls A–C. SEPTA's Jefferson Station serves the building, and the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau puts Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) 20 minutes away by SEPTA Regional Rail. Expovision, the show's only official housing partner, takes hotel reservations from April 2027.
How many people attend PACK EXPO East?
PMMI counted more than 7,300 attendees and 2,700 exhibitor personnel at PACK EXPO East 2026, held February 17–19 in Philadelphia. The 2024 show drew 7,977 attendees and over 500 exhibitors on 120,000 net sq ft, the 2022 edition more than 6,600 attendees and the March 2020 edition more than 7,100.
Is PACK EXPO East open to the public?
PMMI invites professionals involved in packaging or processing operations to attend: manufacturers, plant and production managers, engineers, quality and compliance staff, procurement teams, brand managers and package designers. Registration opens in September 2027 at $30 through March 3, 2028, then $130. Nobody under 14 may enter the floor on show days.
Who organizes PACK EXPO East?
PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, based in Herndon, Virginia, produces PACK EXPO East. It speaks for more than 1,100 North American equipment, component and materials suppliers to the packaging and processing industry, and its members get discounted space and pick booths before non-members. PMMI also stages PACK EXPO shows in Chicago, Atlanta and Las Vegas.
