Includes design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show.
Billed by the show
- Booth space, paid to SPIE
- Material handling at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, when the space rate does not include it
- Electrical, internet and rigging orders for SPIE Defense + Security
- Booth cleaning and whatever union labor the SPIE Defense + Security venue requires
Published rates:
- Rigging crew: Minimum two Encore riggers plus a required scissor lift, billed by actual time (Gaylord Palms rigging guide)
- Booth build: 10×20 rental $7,500–$15,000; custom 20×20 $50,000–$120,000, Purple's 2026 planning range
Key dates
- Design sign-off with Purple: Late January 2027
- Late January 2027: Design sign-off; live demo hardware and any hanging sign locked.
- February 2027: Production in Fishkill, NY or Las Vegas; monitors, demo targets and graphics built and tested.
- Late March 2027: Encore rigging form filed at least 18 days before load-in; booth ships to the advance warehouse for Kissimmee.
- Days before April 20, 2027: Move-in on the contractor's schedule; our project manager installs and powers the demo.
- April 20–22, 2027: Exhibition days; our project manager on call.
- After the April 22 close: Dismantle, cameras and optics packed to your return plan, booth stored or shipped on.

Checklist
- Forward the booth number and footprint on your SPIE Defense + Security contract
- List live demo hardware: cameras, detectors, lasers, power needs and target scenes
- Decide on a hanging sign so the Encore rigging form goes in 18 days before load-in
- Plan which conversations need a closed room
- Book rooms at Gaylord Palms or nearby Kissimmee hotels
- Plan return freight and storage for SPIE Optics + Photonics in August
