Includes design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show.
Billed by the show
- Booth space, paid to SPIE
- Drayage, or material handling, when it is not in the SPIE Photonics West space rate
- Electrical service, internet and rigging at the Moscone Center (North, South and West)
- Booth cleaning, and union labor where the Moscone Center (North, South and West) requires it

- Booth build: 10×20 rental $7,500–$15,000; custom 20×20 $50,000–$120,000, Purple's 2026 planning range
Key dates
- Design sign-off with Purple: Late October 2026
- Late October 2026: Design sign-off; live demo and any two-story or covered elements locked for engineering.
- November 2026: Production in Fishkill, NY or Las Vegas; stamped drawings prepared for the Moscone Fire Marshal.
- Late December 2026: Booth ships to the general contractor's advance warehouse for San Francisco; internet and power orders filed.
- Days before January 30 or February 2, 2027: Move-in for BiOS Expo or the main exhibition; our project manager installs and powers the demo.
- January 30–February 4, 2027: BiOS Expo, then the Photonics West Exhibition; changeover between them if you show at both.
- After the February 4 close: Dismantle and return, or storage for SPIE Optics + Photonics in August.

Checklist
- Tell Purple whether you exhibit at BiOS Expo, the main exhibition or both
- List each live source: wavelength, laser class, power, enclosure and operator
- Flag any two-story, covered or over-12 ft element for Moscone engineering
- Pick the three products the spec wall leads with, with their key numbers
- Decide on a Prism Awards entry or Startup Challenge pitch if relevant
- Book San Francisco hotels early for a six-day stay
