Includes design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show.
Billed by the show
- Exhibit space (paid to United States Institute for Theatre Technology)
- Drayage, or material handling, when it is not in the USITT space rate
- Electrical service, internet and rigging at the Baltimore Convention Center
- Booth cleaning and any union labor the venue requires
Published rates:
- Member presale: $399 members, $255 student members, from November 17, 2026
Key dates
- Design sign-off with Purple: Early January 2027
- November 17, 2026: USITT member presale opens; book your booth through the USITT27 sales form if you have not.
- Early January 2027: Design sign-off for truss, lighting, Dark Zone blackout or Costume Pavilion fixtures.
- January to February 2027: Production in Fishkill, NY over 30 to 45 days; fixtures and consoles tested in our shop.
- Early March 2027: Insurance certificate and service orders filed; freight ships to Baltimore.
- March 18–20, 2027: Stage Expo days; our project manager keeps the demo running.
- After close on March 20: Dismantle and pack; the booth returns to storage or goes on to your next show.

Checklist
- Request Stage Expo space through the USITT27 sales form
- Ask for Dark Zone or Costume Pavilion placement if your products fit
- List every fixture, console and projector with its power draw
- Submit the certificate of insurance in the exhibitor service center
- Register booth staff and book hotels through Connections Housing
- Sign up for demos and hands-on labs when USITT opens them
- Plan a careers corner for students and educators
