Vibe Credit Union Showplace Exhibitor Guide
Vibe Credit Union Showplace (formerly Suburban Collection Showplace) is a privately owned expo hall beside I-96 in Novi, where Detroit's automotive engineers come for the Automotive Testing Expo. You get 305,000 sq ft of floor with only 45 columns, 480-volt power, water, gas and compressed air at the floor ports, and 19 truck and grade-level doors. The name changed on January 1, 2026. The building, the address and the Hyatt Place inside it did not.

What exhibitors ask about Vibe Credit Union Showplace
The venue's published rules set no union labor requirement. Michigan's right-to-work law was repealed in February 2024, so each show and its contractor set the labor rules. Read the kit before you plan to build the booth yourself.
Exhibitors park in the northwest lot and use the north entrances only. Hand-carry goes through the north exhibit hall entrance. Freight goes to numbered truck and drive-in doors at the back of the building, never through the lobby.
Halls A, B and C have a 28 ft ceiling with 24 ft true clear. The Event Center at the west end clears about 40 ft (the venue lists both 40 and 41 ft).

Vibe Credit Union Showplace labor rules: what your team can do itself
Michigan's right-to-work law was repealed effective February 13, 2024, and we found no reinstatement as of October 2026. Unlike Huntington Place in Detroit, this privately owned hall publishes no union jurisdiction or booth-size rule for exhibitors. Its rules cover where you park, where you load and what you may stick to the walls. Who may build your booth is set by each show and its contractor, so the show kit is the final word.

The expo floor totals about 305,000 sq ft and divides into three exposition halls, A, B and C. The Event Center, added at the west end in 2019, connects to them for one continuous show floor. The venue says the whole floor takes up to 1,500 booths of 10×10. It does not publish a size for each hall, so ask for the current floor plan before you pick a booth.

This is a suburban drive-in hall built for machines, boats and RVs. Water, gas, compressed air and 480-volt power run to floor ports between the columns, and the venue publishes exact rules for vehicles on the floor. Check your machine or vehicle against each row before you ship.

- 19 doorsThe venue lists 12 truck doors and 7 grade-level doors. Trucks back up to the docks, and vans and cars drive onto the floor through the grade-level doors.
- Door numbersOne show's 2019 manual sent vehicles to drive-in doors 7, 9 and 11 and trucks to docks 8, 10 and 12–14, all at the rear of the building. Your show kit gives your doors and your time slot.

Vibe Credit Union Showplace exhibitor tips: what experienced teams do
Search the old name too
Show kits, carrier systems and GPS still say Suburban Collection Showplace, and some older ones say Rock Financial Showplace. Put both names and 46100 Grand River Ave on your bill of lading so nothing gets bounced.
Come in from the north
Exhibitors park in the northwest lot and use the north entrances only, and security enforces it. The south and east lots are for attendees, so don't let the van follow the visitor signs.
Pack carpet tape, not duct tape
Only cloth-backed carpet tape is allowed. Duct, masking and double-sided plastic tape are banned, and adhesive damage is billed back. Leave the walls and columns bare.
Map your booth to a floor port
With columns 60 ft apart and 40 utility ports between them, a booth near a port can get water, air, gas or 480-volt power without a long run. Ask for a spot near one when you book, and order from Show Power Plus five working days out.
Prep vehicles before they leave
Gas tanks at a quarter or 5 gallons, diesel at half or 20 gallons, EVs at 30% charge or less. In winter boat and RV season, everything is hosed off before it rolls in, so build in time for a wash.
Go tall in the Event Center
Halls A–C clear 24 ft. The 2019 Event Center clears about 40 ft, so a tower, a hanging sign or a full-size vehicle on a lift fits better there. Ask the show which hall your booth is in before you design upward.

From Novi Expo Center to Vibe Credit Union Showplace
Four names in 34 years, one private owner and one stretch of Grand River Avenue beside I-96.
- 1992The Novi Expo Center opens in March inside a renovated 1966 warehouse, developed by attorney Blair Bowman.
- 2005A new $18 million hall opens in August as the Rock Financial Showplace.
- 2010The name changes to Suburban Collection Showplace. The old expo building is demolished in June 2012.
- 2012The Michigan State Fair returns, held here each year since and run by the Showplace's owners.
- 2013The 126-room Hyatt Place Detroit/Novi opens in August, attached to the building, with a new ballroom and more meeting space.
- 2019A two-floor expansion at the west end opens in February: the Event Center, with 40+ ft of clear height.

Is Vibe Credit Union Showplace the same as Suburban Collection Showplace?
Yes. Vibe Credit Union Showplace (formerly Suburban Collection Showplace) is the same building at 46100 Grand River Ave in Novi. Vibe Credit Union, based in Novi, took the naming rights from January 1, 2026, in a 25-year deal. Before 2010 it was the Rock Financial Showplace, and before 2005 the Novi Expo Center.

What is the ceiling height in the exhibit halls?

Who supplies electrical and internet?

Can I build a covered or two-story booth?
Under the Novi Fire Department rules printed in a 2019 show manual, single-level booths over 300 sq ft with a ceiling need sprinklers, and decks over 300 sq ft need at least two exits. Vehicles and boats with over 100 sq ft of roof need smoke detectors. Your show may set its own height limits.

In the northwest lot, entering through the north entrances. The site has about 6,000 spaces. Parking is charged per car per day with in-and-out privileges; vehicles that take up two spaces pay double, and overnight parking needs approval.
