AMPP 2027 booth design & build in Columbus
Custom and rental exhibits for coatings, corrosion and inspection suppliers, built so a specifier can put a hand on the specimen and an inspector can watch the reading. Lighting tested on your real panels, instrument stations with a visible result screen, and GCCC move-in run by Purple's Midwest crew.

What makes AMPP different, and how we build for it
AMPP builds its Expo Hall for technical people. The hall opens Monday evening from 5 to 7:30 p.m., then runs full days Tuesday and Wednesday, and 20×20 and larger booths get a Saturday head start on setup. Inside the hall, the AMPPitheater hosts discussions, the AMPP Ultimate Inspector Challenge puts instruments in inspectors' hands, and the CoatingsPro Contractor Awards Program and MPI Champion Awards pull contractors into the aisles. Visitors arrive from the technical symposia, Research in Progress sessions and the Student Poster Session with specific questions about substrate, exposure and test method. A booth that answers those questions with a specimen in hand and a report within reach does well here.
Tested panels with substrate, preparation, system and exposure labeled beside them, and the underlying report on a nearby surface so appearance is never mistaken for a specification.
A stable demonstration surface, the instrument in their own hands, and a screen where the whole group can read the measurement while your specialist explains it.
A representative survey report or maintenance plan, a quiet table to describe their pipeline, tank or structure, and staff who can scope the next assessment.
Purple in Columbus
Local crew, national shop
Purple builds in Fishkill, NY and Las Vegas, NV, ships to every hall in the United States and installs on site with our own project manager and local labor. For Columbus we book freight targets, coordinate the general contractor and run a pre-show QA so your team can just show up.
Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA. Your booth ships from our production shop in Fishkill, NY or our Las Vegas hub, and our project manager is on the floor for install and dismantle.

Booth options for AMPP 2027
Pick a footprint. We’ll price it as a rental, a custom build, or a hybrid.
AMPP gives 20×20 and larger booths a Saturday head start on move-in, so islands from the big coatings and instrument makers set the tone, while most suppliers hold 10×10 and 10×20 inlines. Purple clients at AMPP usually land between a 10×20 with a specimen wall and a 20×30 island with a live instrument station.

One backlit specimen wall of coated and control panels, a compact instrument counter and a stool for a specifier conversation.

A specimen wall grouped by operating environment, one instrument demo station with a result screen, and a small table for report discussion.
See 10×20 rental booths →
An open island with a shared specimen table, two demo stations, storage for handling samples and a meeting table under a hanging sign.
See 20×20 rental booths →
Zones by asset type such as pipeline, marine and infrastructure, a live inspection stage, a closed meeting room and secure specimen storage.
See 20×30 rental booths →All-in 2026 ranges for design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle; booth space, drayage and show services are separate. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show. Send the show, your booth size and what the space needs to do. We return a fixed proposal, usually within two business days.

Designing for coatings, corrosion and inspection suppliers at AMPP
Four things we get right for AMPP exhibitors

Test lighting on your real panels
Gloss, texture and color shift under show lighting. We put your actual coated panels under the proposed fixtures, match illumination across every comparison set and check reflections from where a visitor stands, so glare never hides the surface you are trying to show.

Keep handling pieces apart from evidence
Visitors will pick things up. We build duplicate handling samples into the furniture, mount the primary tested specimens in protected fixtures at viewing height, label the relationship between the two, and design storage so staff can restock without disturbing the comparison.
Put the reading where the crowd is
An inspection demo only works when people can see the number. We line up the instrument, the specimen and an audience screen in one sight line, size the counter for the operator and three onlookers, and rehearse the reset with your product specialist.
Name the environment before the claim
A pipeline owner and a bridge engineer read the same panel differently. We open each display with the asset and exposure it represents, keep method and result in a short companion graphic, and hold the full report on a screen for the follow-up question.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this
You see the booth in 3D before we cut a single panel: layout, graphics, lighting and product positions, revised until it is right. Shown: a Purple concept for Sayal Crane Systems.

Logistics for AMPP 2027, handled
The Greater Columbus Convention Center is a non-union building, so our own crew unloads and assembles your booth across 373,000 square feet in four halls. We plan drayage at about $130 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum, order material handling and services from the AMPP exhibitor kit, ship your booth and specimen cases to the advance warehouse, and clear teardown inside the Wednesday 5 to 10 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. windows. AMPP exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before AMPP
How much does a 20×20 at AMPP cost?
A 20×20 custom island runs $50,000 to $120,000 all in for design, structure, graphics and installation, and a 20×20 rental island $16,000 to $40,000. A 10×20 inline lands between $7,500 rental and $45,000 custom. Instrument stations and specimen fixtures move the number; send us your inventory and we return a fixed quote.
Can you install at the Greater Columbus Convention Center?
Yes. The GCCC is a non-union building, so our own crew unloads, assembles and levels every specimen mount without a union card. We work the AMPP setup windows from Saturday noon for larger booths through Monday 2 p.m., and hand you a finished booth before the 5 p.m. opening.
Can we rent a booth for AMPP?
Yes. Rental structures with your graphics, custom specimen walls on a rental frame and a full custom build are all available. Many first-time AMPP exhibitors start with a 10×10 or 10×20 rental from $3,500 and add a custom instrument counter that travels to the next show.
When do we need to decide?
Design sign-off by late January gives a comfortable 30 to 45 day build in Fishkill and a ship date the week of March 22 for the Columbus advance warehouse. Later is possible; the trade-off is choice of finishes, lighting tests on your panels and freight cost.
Do you handle the show contractor orders and drayage?
Yes. We read the AMPP exhibitor kit, file every form that concerns the booth, order material handling, electrical and rigging, book your freight targets and keep you copied on each deadline. We plan drayage at about $130 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum.
