Purple at Powder Show 2027

What makes Powder Show different, and how we build for it

The Powder Show, run by Informa Markets as the International Powder & Bulk Solids Conference & Exhibition (iPBS 2027), is the one North American floor where dry-material handling is the whole subject. The 2025 edition put 350+ exhibitors in front of 3,000+ expo attendees from 30 countries at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, with a two-day conference of 30+ sessions on pneumatic conveying, storage and feeding, plus the Women in Processing community. Visitors walk in as plant owners, process engineers and maintenance managers with a specific material in mind, so a booth that shows what enters, what your equipment does and what comes out wins the conversation before anyone opens a spec sheet.

Process and production engineers

A labeled representative sample, the machine's inlet and outlet in view, and an application diagram beside it so they can ask how it handles their material.

Plant and maintenance leads

A non-operating view of access panels, changeover parts and seals, using a cutaway or duplicate component where the feature is hidden inside the housing.

Executive managers and plant owners

A simple process map with your stage highlighted, a clear statement of what improves, and a quiet table where a plant-wide evaluation can start.

Purple in Rosemont

Local crew, national shop

With McCormick Place as a frequent stage, our Chicago crew knows every regulation, layout constraint and labor rule by heart. We optimize booth logistics for fast setup, perfect lighting and zero downtime, so your space is visitor-ready on day one.

Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA. Your booth ships from our production shop in Fishkill, NY or our Las Vegas hub, and our project manager is on the floor for install and dismantle.

Booth options for Powder Show 2027

Pick a footprint. We’ll price it as a rental, a custom build, or a hybrid.

The Powder Show floor mixes full-size feeders, mixers and dust collectors on islands with component suppliers in 10×10 and 10×20 inlines. Most Purple clients here choose a 10×20 with one machine and a sample counter, or a 20×20 island where a short process sequence runs from inlet to outlet with a meeting table behind it.

All-in 2026 ranges for design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle; booth space, drayage and show services are separate. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show. Designing for bulk-material handling and dry-processing equipment at Powder Show

Four things we get right for Powder Show exhibitors

An engineer reviews paperwork beside manufactured metal components in a factory photograph.

Bring the machine, not the catalog

One feeder, valve or mixer with its inlet, outlet and service panel in clear view tells a plant engineer more than six products on a shelf. We draw the full display envelope, guards and hoppers included, and plan viewing clearance before any counter or screen is placed.

Reveal the transfer you cannot run

Most bulk equipment hides the movement that sells it. We build cutaways, transparent inactive models and looped video that show the transfer, and align the graphic direction with the physical machine so a visitor is not mentally reversing the process while your engineer talks.

Contain the samples, label the story

Contained, labeled samples beside the machine let a visitor decide in seconds whether your process matches their material. We build sample libraries organized by application, with secure restock storage inside the furniture and a return path so staff reset without walking through the crowd.

Two roles, one clear handoff

Visitors arrive in groups from operations, engineering and purchasing. We give a host a spot at the aisle, the technical colleague a drawing surface a step back, and a handoff between them, so a sizing conversation runs while the next group sees the sample.

Logistics for Powder Show 2027, handled

The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center is a union building, so exhibit labor runs through the show's contractor and we staff our Chicago crew to match. Trucks reach the River Road docks off the Kennedy and Tri-State expressways with no downtown congestion, and drayage runs about $145 per hundredweight for crated freight received at the advance warehouse, below McCormick Place rates. Flame certificates for fabrics and Illinois fire code sign-offs are ours to file, and our certificate of insurance naming the organizer and the Village of Rosemont is on file. We read the exhibitor kit, book your freight targets, ship to the advance warehouse, coordinate rigging for heavy equipment, and put our crew on the floor for installation and dismantle.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Donald E. Stephens Convention Center exhibitor guide.

What Purple handles

  • Exhibitor kit, show contractor orders and freight targets
  • Rigging plan and platforms for heavy equipment
  • Contained sample displays and restock storage
  • Graphics with process diagrams sized for the aisle
  • Advance-warehouse freight and drayage paperwork
  • Installation and dismantle with our Chicago crew

Powder Show exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before Powder Show

How much does a 20×20 at the Powder Show cost?

A 20×20 custom island lands between $50,000 and $120,000, and a 20×20 rental island between $16,000 and $40,000, covering design, structure, graphics and installation. The machine you bring drives freight and rigging, so send equipment dimensions and weights and we return a fixed quote.

Can you install heavy equipment at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center?

Yes. We design the floor plan around the machine's weight, footprint and service access, coordinate rigging and forklift handling through the show contractor, and our Chicago crew sets, levels and dresses the equipment before you arrive on the floor.

Can we rent a booth for the Powder Show?

Yes. Rental structures with your graphics, custom machine platforms and sample counters, or a hybrid of the two are all available. Most first-time Powder Show exhibitors start with a 10×10 or 10×20 rental from $3,500 and upgrade the equipment display.

When do we need to decide?

Design sign-off by mid-February gives a comfortable 30–45-day build and an early April ship date to the Rosemont advance warehouse. Later is possible; the trade-off is choice of finishes, rush graphics and higher freight cost.

Do you handle the show contractor orders and drayage?

We file the organizer forms that concern the booth, order electrical, compressed air and material handling through the show contractor, book advance-warehouse freight and keep you copied on every deadline so nothing depends on a form you did not know about.
