Dallas–Fort Worth convention centers and trade show venues

The Metroplex splits its trade shows across four very different floors. Downtown Dallas has the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, now running shows in Halls A, B and C (304,250 sq ft) while Halls D, E and F, including the column-free Hall F, are demolished for a new center due in 2029–2030. About 2.5 miles north, the Hilton Anatole has its own Trinity Exhibit Hall of about 73,000 sq ft and 1,606 rooms. Downtown Fort Worth has a mid-size center of 252,226 sq ft. Between the two cities, near DFW Airport, the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine puts a 180,000 sq ft exhibition hall and 1,814 rooms under one roof. Texas is right-to-work at all four, so your own staff can build the booth.

Dallas–Fort Worth convention centers and trade show venues

The Metroplex gives exhibitors a choice of four very different floors: a downtown Dallas convention center running shows in Halls A–C while Halls D, E and F are demolished for a new center due in 2029–2030, a hotel with its own exhibit hall 2.5 miles north of downtown Dallas, a mid-size downtown Fort Worth center, and an all-in-one convention resort in Grapevine, near DFW Airport, about halfway between the two. Texas is right-to-work at all four, so your own staff can build the booth.

The calendar

Shows at Dallas–Fort Worth venues, 2026–2027

Only some of our four Metroplex guides carry dated show listings, so treat this calendar as a starting point and confirm every date with the organizer. Our Dallas guide lists five organizer-confirmed 2027 shows in Halls A–C, from the Dallas Franchise Show in January to the Southwest Veterinary Symposium in the fall, and our Hilton Anatole guide lists five 2027 shows with their own exhibit floors, from the Parking Industry Expo in March to the International CHARGE Syndrome Conference in July. For Fort Worth and the Gaylord Texan the guides describe the pattern: consumer and home shows downtown in winter and spring, and association conferences at the Gaylord Texan in spring and fall.

Show types at the other Dallas–Fort Worth venues

These come from the event tables in our older venue guides. They describe the kinds of events each venue hosts and when, not confirmed dates, so check each organizer before you plan.

Dates are copied from each venue guide's calendar (organizer and venue sites, checked October 2026); only shows ending on or after October 29, 2026 are listed. Confirm dates, halls and the general contractor with each organizer. More notes on other recurring shows are in the Kay Bailey Hutchison CC, Hilton Anatole guides.

Busy seasons

When Dallas–Fort Worth is busiest for trade shows

Counting the dated shows above by the month they open, April 2027 is the busiest month in our listings, with 3 shows starting, ahead of June 2027 with 2. Plan freight and hotel rooms early for those weeks.

With only Halls A–C open, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center books shows that fit about 300,000 sq ft. Our guide lists the Dallas Franchise Show (January 30–31, 2027, Hall B), the Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo with Wood Pro Expo Texas (May 18–20), FAN EXPO Dallas (June 11–13), the Dallas Build Expo (August 25–26) and the Southwest Veterinary Symposium (September 30–October 3). Shows that needed Hall F, such as the Dallas Auto Show, have no confirmed 2027 dates there. North of downtown, the Hilton Anatole hosts the Parking Industry Expo (March 29–April 1, 2027), ICES Dallas, NAVIGATOR, the TASSP Summer Workshop and the International CHARGE Syndrome Conference.

Fort Worth follows a similar rhythm on a smaller scale. The Fort Worth Convention Center's own calendar is regional trade and consumer shows: home and consumer events in winter and spring, healthcare and professional conferences in spring and fall. One thing catches visitors out. The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, which runs most years from mid-January through early February, is held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, not at the downtown convention center.

The Gaylord Texan in Grapevine books conferences, corporate meetings and incentive programs rather than public trade shows. Our guide places national association conferences with exhibit halls there in spring and fall. Summer matters mainly for anything outdoors: the resort's 40,000 sq ft event lawn needs a heat plan from roughly May through September, and the Fort Worth guide gives the same warning for the Water Garden Events Plaza.

Planning guide

Exhibiting in Dallas–Fort Worth: what to plan for

Full-time exhibitor staff may build their own booth at all four venues (check your kit); in Dallas, Teamsters handle all freight inside the building, and drayage, electrical and rigging go through designated contractors. The sections below pull together what our 4 Dallas–Fort Worth venue guides say about labor, freight, move-in, travel and hotels, venue by venue, with a link to the guide each fact comes from.

Labor & union rules

Dallas–Fort Worth union labor and booth setup rules by venue

Labor is the simplest part of exhibiting in Dallas–Fort Worth. Texas's right-to-work law applies at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, the Hilton Anatole, the Fort Worth Convention Center and the Gaylord Texan alike: full-time staff may build their own booth. In Dallas, GES rules say full-time employees may set their own exhibits without the display union, while Teamsters handle all material handling inside the building, and a Freeman kit at the Hilton Anatole says the same about your own staff. What stays exclusive is material handling from the dock to the booth, plus electrical, rigging, internet and catering, which each venue or its designated providers control. Covered and multilevel exhibits go through the local fire department's plan review.

Dallas–Fort Worth drayage rates and show budget estimator

Drayage in the Metroplex sits well below Northeast rates. Our guides plan about $100 per hundredweight at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, the Hilton Anatole and the Gaylord Texan, and about $90 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. These are Purple planning rates for 2026 and 2027, not published tariffs; your show's exhibitor kit has the real rate, minimums and surcharges. Right-to-work labor does not change drayage: freight still moves from dock to booth through the designated contractor.

How these planning numbers work

  • Shipping weight, drayage and labor assumptions load with the estimator.

All drayage numbers are Purple planning estimates per hundredweight (100 lbs), not quotes or published tariffs. The general contractor for your show publishes the actual material-handling rates in the exhibitor kit. See all venues on the drayage rates page.

Freight

Shipping and advance warehouse basics for Dallas–Fort Worth shows

Freight for a Metroplex show follows the usual two routes: an advance warehouse named in the show kit, or direct to the venue's docks on a target date. Our guides do not name warehouse addresses, so take those from the kit. Purple ships to Dallas, Fort Worth and Grapevine, and the guides' countdowns plan the advance warehouse deadline about a week before move-in, two weeks at the Hilton Anatole and a little later at the Gaylord Texan.

  • Label by hall and boothOnly Halls A, B and C are open at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, so an old kit or label naming Hall D, E or F is out of date. Address every piece to hall and booth number and send drivers to the 1225 Canton Street dock entrance.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas guide

  • Confirm the hall before designing tallIn Dallas, Halls A and B are 35 ft high and Hall C runs from 31 to 37 ft. Ceiling heights and column grids also vary across the expansion-era halls in Fort Worth, so confirm your hall and the height at your spot before building tall. At the Hilton Anatole the exhibit hall is 18 ft high, while the Trinity and Chantilly ballrooms reach 28 and 29 ft.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Fort Worth Convention Center and Hilton Anatole guides

  • No early freight at the AnatoleThe Hilton Anatole cannot receive or store freight before set-up day. Ship to the decorator's advance warehouse; a few shows, such as one GES show in October 2026, take direct deliveries on move-in day only.

    From our Hilton Anatole guide

  • Plan for construction accessBoth downtown centers are changing. In Dallas, demolition of Halls D, E and F began in February 2026, the DART Convention Center station is closed for the whole build, and the new center is due in 2029 (city) or 2030 (venue). Fort Worth is replacing its 1968 arena with more exhibit space and a hotel. Both guides say to confirm current access before booking near the work.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas and Fort Worth Convention Center guides

  • Resort timing at GrapevineOur Gaylord Texan countdown has the advance warehouse opening about two weeks out and closing about five days before the event, with move-out the same evening the event ends. Confirm both with the resort's contractor.

From our Gaylord Texan Resort guide

  • Keep heavy freight on concreteAt the Gaylord Texan the exhibition hall has a concrete floor and takes forklifts and heavier builds by arrangement. The three ballrooms are carpet, so freestanding structures there need floor protection under heavy pieces.

Move-in & move-out

Loading docks, move-in traffic and dock tips in Dallas–Fort Worth

None of the four Metroplex venues is a street-loading building; each has docks serving its exhibit floor. The differences are about which dock and when. In Dallas the dock entrance is on Canton Street beside the construction, at the Hilton Anatole a 2020 prospectus puts it off Wycliff Avenue, in Fort Worth it depends on the arena construction, and at the Gaylord Texan it depends on the resort's dock hours.

Kay Bailey Hutchison CC

Canton Street docks beside the demolition

The loading dock entrance is at 1225 Canton St, and the venue plans label dock areas 1 to 8 on Levels 1 and 2. Teamsters unload and deliver to your booth; hand carry is what one person can take in one trip. Expect changed truck routes while Halls D–F come down.

A 2020 show prospectus put the dock on the south side of the hotel, off Wycliff Avenue. Bay counts, door sizes and freight elevators are not published. The Atrium and Tower mezzanines connect only by stairs, so plan cart routes.

Choosing a venue

Which Dallas–Fort Worth venue is right for my show?

Short answers drawn from our venue guides. Your show's organizer picks the venue; these help you plan the booth for it.

A downtown Dallas show during the rebuild

The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center keeps Halls A, B and C open, 304,250 sq ft with 35 ft ceilings in A and B and 31–37 ft in C, while Halls D, E and F, including the 2002 column-free Hall F, are demolished; the city announced the demolition in February 2026. The new center, with about 750,000 sq ft of exhibit space, is due in 2029 per the city or 2030 per the venue. The DART Convention Center station is closed during construction, and the 1,001-room Omni Dallas is listed as linked by skybridge, so check the route to your hall.

A mid-size show downtown in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Convention Center has 252,226 sq ft of exhibit space for shows of 200 to 500 booths, and the lowest planning drayage of the four, about $90 per hundredweight. The city's plan to demolish the 1968 arena for more exhibit space means you should confirm access and hall availability before booking near the construction.

Everything on one property, between Dallas and Fort Worth

The Gaylord Texan in Grapevine puts a 180,000 sq ft exhibition hall with a concrete floor, three ballrooms up to 50,000 sq ft and 1,814 rooms on one level under one roof. It is about 10 minutes from DFW Airport and about 30 minutes from both downtowns. The ballrooms are carpet, so keep heavy builds and forklifts in the hall.

Who may build the booth?

Texas's right-to-work law applies at all four: your full-time staff may build their own booth (Dallas kits say full-time employees may set their own exhibits; check your kit). Drayage and utilities still go through the show's or resort's designated contractors, planned at about $90 to $100 per hundredweight, and electrical, rigging and internet are exclusive at each venue.

FAQ

Dallas–Fort Worth trade show FAQ for exhibitors

Answers from our Dallas–Fort Worth venue guides. Each answer links the guide it comes from.

What are the main convention centers in Dallas–Fort Worth?

Our guides cover four. The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas has 304,250 sq ft open in Halls A–C while the rest is rebuilt. The Hilton Anatole, about 2.5 miles north, has its own Trinity Exhibit Hall of about 73,000 sq ft and 1,606 rooms. The Fort Worth Convention Center in downtown Fort Worth has 252,226 sq ft of exhibit space within 716,000 sq ft total. The Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, near DFW Airport, has a 180,000 sq ft exhibition hall, three ballrooms and 1,814 rooms on one property.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Hilton Anatole, Fort Worth Convention Center and Gaylord Texan Resort guides

What is the biggest trade show venue in Dallas?

The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center at 650 S Griffin St, though it is mid-rebuild. Halls A, B and C stay open with 304,250 sq ft (100,155, 100,155 and 103,940 sq ft) plus Ballrooms A and C. Halls D, E and F, including the 203,000 sq ft column-free Hall F added in 2002, are being demolished. The new center will have about 750,000 sq ft of contiguous exhibit space, due in 2029 per the city or 2030 per the venue.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas guide

Is Dallas a union or right-to-work city for trade show labor?

Right-to-work. Texas law applies at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, the Hilton Anatole, the Fort Worth Convention Center and the Gaylord Texan, so your full-time staff can assemble the booth; in Dallas, Teamsters still handle all freight inside the convention center, and extra labor at the Anatole is union, ordered from the decorator. The exclusives are services, not booth labor: drayage goes through the designated contractor, and electrical, rigging, internet and catering go through each venue or its providers. The show kit carries the current list.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Hilton Anatole, Fort Worth Convention Center and Gaylord Texan Resort guides

Can I set up my own booth in Dallas or Fort Worth?

Yes. Full-time staff may build their own booth at all four Metroplex venues; Dallas kits, including a Freeman kit at the Hilton Anatole, say full-time employees may set their own exhibits without the union. Check your kit. You still order electrical and rigging through the venue's designated providers; at the Anatole, Encore handles all rigging. Covered and multilevel exhibits need fire department plan review in Dallas and Fort Worth, and the Gaylord Texan approves covered booths and permits cooking and vehicles.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Hilton Anatole, Fort Worth Convention Center and Gaylord Texan Resort guides

How much does drayage cost in Dallas–Fort Worth?

Our guides plan about $100 per hundredweight at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, with a 200 lb minimum and standard surcharges, about $100 at the Hilton Anatole, about $100 at the Gaylord Texan through the resort's contractor, and about $90 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. These are Purple planning rates for 2026 and 2027, not published tariffs. Your exhibitor kit has the actual rate.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Hilton Anatole, Fort Worth Convention Center and Gaylord Texan Resort guides

Should I ship to the advance warehouse or direct to the venue?

Either works at most venues; the show kit names the warehouse, its deadline and the direct-to-show target date. The Hilton Anatole is the exception: it cannot receive or store freight before set-up day, so use the advance warehouse unless your kit names a move-in-day window. Our countdowns plan the advance warehouse deadline about a week before move-in at the Dallas and Fort Worth convention centers, and about five days out at the Gaylord Texan. Our drayage estimators price on-time and late routes separately, so check which case your shipment falls into before it leaves.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Hilton Anatole, Fort Worth Convention Center and Gaylord Texan Resort guides

When are the big Dallas–Fort Worth trade shows?

In Dallas, our guide lists organizer-confirmed 2027 shows in Halls A–C: the Dallas Franchise Show (Jan 30–31), Cabinets & Closets with Wood Pro Expo Texas (May 18–20), FAN EXPO Dallas (Jun 11–13), the Dallas Build Expo (Aug 25–26) and the Southwest Veterinary Symposium (Sep 30–Oct 3). The Hilton Anatole hosts the Parking Industry Expo (Mar 29–Apr 1), ICES Dallas, NAVIGATOR, the TASSP Summer Workshop and the International CHARGE Syndrome Conference in 2027. Fort Worth runs home and consumer shows in winter and spring and conferences in spring and fall. The Gaylord Texan hosts association conferences in spring and fall. The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, not the convention center.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Hilton Anatole, Fort Worth Convention Center and Gaylord Texan Resort guides

Which hotels are connected to Dallas–Fort Worth convention venues?

The 1,001-room Omni Dallas Hotel, opened in 2011, is listed as linked to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center by skybridge; check the route during construction. The Hilton Anatole and the Gaylord Texan are themselves the hotel, with 1,606 and 1,814 rooms on site. Fort Worth has no attached hotel in our guide; downtown Fort Worth hotels within walking distance are the standard block, and the arena redevelopment plan includes a new hotel.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Hilton Anatole, Gaylord Texan Resort and Fort Worth Convention Center guides

Which airport should I use for a Dallas or Fort Worth show?

It depends on the venue. Dallas Love Field is about 6 miles from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in a straight line, while DFW International is about 16 miles from it with more routes. Love Field is about 4 miles from the Hilton Anatole and DFW about 14. DFW is about 25 to 30 minutes from downtown Fort Worth and about 10 minutes from the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine.

From our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Hilton Anatole, Fort Worth Convention Center and Gaylord Texan Resort guides

Where can I hold a smaller expo in the Metroplex?

The Fort Worth Convention Center is the mid-size option, with exhibit halls our guide sizes for shows of 200 to 500 booths and 41 meeting rooms totaling 58,849 sq ft. At the Gaylord Texan, the 50,000 sq ft Texas Grand Ballroom and the 32,200 sq ft Lone Star Ballroom take smaller exhibits on carpet. In Dallas, the open part of the convention center has Ballroom A (26,992 sq ft) and Ballroom C (19,224 sq ft) and meeting rooms on Levels 1 and 3 for tabletop formats. The Hilton Anatole's Trinity Ballroom (45,000 sq ft, 28 ft) and Chantilly Ballroom (28,400 sq ft, 29 ft) also take expos.

Is the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center being replaced?

Yes. The Dallas City Council voted in February 2022 to move toward replacing the building, and in February 2026 the city began demolishing Halls D, E and F. Halls A, B and C keep running shows. The new 2.1 million sq ft center, with about 750,000 sq ft of exhibit space, is due in 2029 per the city or 2030 per the venue, and the DART Convention Center station stays closed until then. Fort Worth is changing too: its 1968 arena is being replaced with more than 50,000 sq ft of new exhibit space. Both guides say to confirm hall availability and access before booking.

What should I know about move-in at Metroplex venues?

In Dallas, address freight to Hall A, B or C and booth number, send trucks to the 1225 Canton Street dock entrance, and expect construction detours. At the Hilton Anatole, nothing goes to the hotel before set-up day, and the Atrium and Tower mezzanines connect only by stairs. In Fort Worth, confirm dock access around the arena construction. At the Gaylord Texan, confirm dock hours, keep forklifts and heavy builds in the concrete-floor hall, and plan for move-out the same evening. Self-install crews can start on their own schedule once the docks open.
