The short answer

Booth staffing in Dallas–Fort Worth

Dallas–Fort Worth runs three kinds of events at once: big conventions downtown, wholesale markets at Dallas Market Center, and resort conferences out by DFW Airport. Purple Exhibits staffs all three with a local roster of brand ambassadors, showroom hosts, models and booth reps at a flat $85 an hour per person. We match each booking to staff who live near that venue, because in DFW the drive decides who arrives on time. Book four to six weeks ahead for January market; rush requests in 72 hours.

Staffing a showroom for January market

January market runs five busy days. A temporary showroom needs three hosts on long market hours: one at the door and two on the floor with buyers. Here is that team from our DFW roster, next to the same team flown in.

Straight talk

Six DFW mistakes we help exhibitors avoid

NO. 1

Booking the wrong side of the Metroplex

Fort Worth to downtown Dallas is 40 minutes on a good day. We book staff who live near your venue.

NO. 2

Treating market like a trade show

Dallas Market Center buyers come to write orders. Showroom hosts support sales; they don’t stop traffic.

NO. 3

Booking January market late

January market is the biggest of the year and fills local talent. Reserve four to six weeks out.

NO. 4

Forgetting summer heat

Outdoor load-in and parking walks in July can top 100°F. Plan breaks and uniforms that breathe.

NO. 5

No ice-storm plan

A winter storm can freeze DFW for a day. Keep a standby list and a call tree.

NO. 6

Skipping Grapevine hospitality

Gaylord Texan conferences keep everyone on property. The evening events are where the networking happens.

Do you staff Dallas Market Center?

Yes. We supply showroom hosts for the Total Home & Gift Markets in January and June and for the apparel markets through the year. Hosts greet buyers, pull samples and keep your sales reps free to write orders.

Do you staff the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center?

Yes. We staff the Dallas Auto Show, Fan Expo Dallas and association conventions downtown, using staff who live close enough for early call times.

Which Dallas–Fort Worth shows do you staff?

Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, the Dallas Apparel & Accessories Markets, the Dallas Auto Show, Fan Expo Dallas, the Texas Home & Garden Show and conferences at the Gaylord Texan, Irving Convention Center and Fort Worth Convention Center.

What if someone cancels on show day?

Our DFW coordinator sends a briefed replacement within two hours, or that shift is free.
