What makes World of Coffee different, and how we build for it

World of Coffee New Orleans is the SCA's flagship U.S. show, the event most exhibitors still search for as Specialty Coffee Expo, and 2027 is its first year in New Orleans. The floor is built around tasting and sourcing: the Roaster Village and Producer Village put small roasters and origin producers beside the big equipment brands, the Cupping Rooms and Green Coffee Connect pull buyers into structured sampling, and the Best New Product Awards and Coffee Design Awards reward what is launched on the floor. The World Coffee Roasting Championship runs alongside 60-plus Lectures and 30-plus Workshops. With 93% of attendees there to buy or source, a booth that serves a real cup and closes a sourcing conversation in the same visit wins.

Café owners and retail buyers

A counter they can stand behind, a repeatable service sequence that shows the workflow, and a quiet spot to talk pricing and lead times away from the grinder.

Roasters and green coffee buyers

Samples tied to a named lot and origin, a cupping or pour-over comparison with readable tasting cards, and a way to log which coffee they want to follow up on.

Distributors and equipment buyers

A small product family shown side by side at working height, specifications and territory availability on hand, and a named commercial contact.

Designing for coffee, roasting, café equipment and packaging brands at World of Coffee

Four things we get right for World of Coffee exhibitors

Female barista pouring milk into a black coffee cup behind a cafe counter

Design the bar as a working stage

We start from your demonstration sequence, then lay out machine, grinder, barista, observer and supplies so visitors watch the important action without stepping into it. Bags, cups and accessories support the story instead of covering every surface.

Red espresso machine brewing coffee

Plan water, power and drainage first

Espresso machines and brewers need plumbed water, drainage and dedicated circuits, ordered through the official contractor before the floor plan is fixed. We size the counter around the real equipment, hide the lines and build a reset area so the machine stays the focal point.

Keep every sample traceable

Labeled cup positions, tasting cards with lot and origin, and a discreet disposal plan so a buyer knows exactly what they tasted. We build the cupping edge slightly apart from the bar so a sourcing conversation can continue while service keeps moving.

Give the business talk its own place

A two-seat consultation point away from the grinders makes speech comfortable and lets a rep record the specific coffee or machine interest. Concealed stock and replenishment storage keep the counters free for demonstration all three days.

Concept rendering

Every proposal comes with a rendering like this

Ernest N. Morial Convention Center · New Orleans

Logistics for World of Coffee 2027, handled

The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center runs 1.1 million square feet across twelve halls along the river, so dock-to-booth distance depends heavily on which hall World of Coffee assigns you. Louisiana is a right-to-work state, which means your own full-time staff can work on the booth, while drayage, electrical, plumbing and rigging go through the show's official contractor at about $155 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum. The building supplies no carts or pallet jacks. We read the exhibitor kit, order water, drainage and power for your bar, ship to the advance warehouse, and put our Gulf South crew on the floor for installation, with hotels a short walk away in the Warehouse District.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Ernest N. Morial Convention Center exhibitor guide.

World of Coffee exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before World of Coffee

How much does a 20×20 at World of Coffee cost?

A complete 20×20 rental island lands between $16,000 and $40,000 and a custom 20×20 between $50,000 and $120,000, covering design, structure, graphics and installation. A plumbed working bar and machine lineup move the number; send us your equipment list and we return a fixed quote.

Can you install at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center?

Yes. Our Gulf South crew installs in New Orleans regularly. We book the drayage targets, order water, drainage and power through the official contractor, and have the bar connected and tested before your barista arrives on the floor.

Can we rent a booth for World of Coffee?

Yes. A 10×10 rental starts around $3,500 and a 10×20 with a working counter runs $7,500 to $15,000 with your graphics. Most first-time roasters at this show rent the structure and invest in a custom bar front and bag wall.

When do we need to decide?

Design sign-off by late January gives a comfortable 30 to 45 day build and a mid-March ship to the advance warehouse. Later is possible; the trade-off is finish choices and freight cost, and utility orders for a plumbed bar need the layout early.

Do you handle contractor orders and drayage?

Yes. We file the exhibitor forms that concern the booth, order material handling, water, electrical and rigging through the show's official contractor, and keep you copied on every deadline so nothing depends on a form you did not know about.
