What makes ACS Spring different, and how we build for it
ACS Spring is the American Chemical Society's national meeting, so the ACS Expo is one part of a week where 29 technical divisions programmed sessions in 2024.For 2027 ACS blocks out a daily noon-to-2 window of Exclusive Expo & Poster Hours, so posters and booths share the same lunchtime crowd in Halls D–E. Chemists also come in for the ChemSpark and Periodic Talks Theaters and the ACS Career Fair. The 2027 expo opens Monday with Opening Entertainment at 10:30 a.m., the way the 2024 New Orleans expo opened behind a second line band, and ACS Spring 2024 drew 925 Sci-Mix presentations to its evening poster mixer.

ACS Spring rules that shape your booth
Contests, demonstrations and giveaways need written approval from ACS Show Management by February 26, 2027, and distribution must stay inside your booth without blocking traffic. We build racks and sample drawers into your counter.
Booths must be show-ready by 5 p.m. Sunday, March 21, and anyone who dismantles before the 2 p.m. close on March 24 loses priority points. We schedule crew and freight pickup around both times.
Every exhibitor files a certificate of insurance with $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate general liability, naming ACS, Freeman and the Morial Convention Center, at least 30 days before move-in. We send you the wording early.
Each 10×10 of ACS Spring 2027 space includes two Exhibitor Full Conference badges; Booth Staff Only badges are sold in limited numbers. We size staff positions in the booth to the badges you hold.
ACS does not sell attendee or exhibitor lists or contact information, shares data only with its official vendors and asks exhibitors to report anyone offering lists. We put a lead-scanning station into the booth so your leads come from conversations.

ACS confines giveaways and literature to your own booth for 2027 and enforces a strict no-suitcasing policy, and in 2024 its staff removed anything left in public walkways. We build literature racks and sample drawers into the counter so nothing needs to leave your footprint.

About 103,365 square feet, divisible into D-1 to D-3, one half of the 2027 ACS Expo.
Our advice The building stretches along the river, so we label crates by hall and booth and check the dock-to-booth distance once Freeman publishes the floor plan.
Hall E
The building's largest hall, about 127,364 square feet, divisible into E-1 to E-3; in 2024 ACS also ran registration and Member Services here.
Our advice If registration returns to Hall E, booths on that side catch badge pickup traffic, so we put your strongest claim on the aisle facing it.
Expo theaters and Career Fair
ACS runs the ChemSpark and Periodic Talks Theaters and the ACS Career Fair inside its exposition hall (2026).
Our advice Theater sessions pull crowds in bursts; we time your booth demo between talks and keep audio low so it does not compete.

Logistics for ACS Spring 2027, handled
ACS Spring 2027 puts its expo in Halls D–E of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the same halls the 2024 New Orleans meeting used. Freeman is the general service contractor and opens its Exhibitor Service Kit, with shipping addresses and deadlines, in December 2026. Exhibitors set up Saturday and Sunday, March 20–21, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and ACS wants every exhibit finished by 5 p.m. Sunday. Teardown may not start before the 2 p.m. Wednesday close, and move-out runs to Thursday noon. Louisiana is right-to-work, so your own staff can assemble the exhibit; freight handling and equipment work stay with the contractor. Our project manager leads install with vetted local labor.

Contest, demonstration and giveaway plans due to ACS Show Management in writing: February 26, 2027. Anything you plan to raffle, demo or give away in the booth needs ACS approval first, so we settle the booth program and its paperwork before this date.
For ACS Spring, we need design sign-off by early January 2027.
- November 2026Reserve 10×10 units with ACS; send us instrument weights, power and the techniques you want on the backwall.
- December 2026Freeman opens the Exhibitor Service Kit; we order electrical, rigging, carpet and material handling and book Projection for any AV.
- Early January 2027Design sign-off: counters, data screens, literature racks inside the footprint and any hanging sign drawings.

ACS Spring 2027 runs Sunday, March 21 to Thursday, March 25, 2027 in New Orleans. The ACS Expo opens Monday, March 22 and Tuesday, March 23 at 11 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.; on Wednesday, March 24 it runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ACS Fall 2027 follows in San Diego in August.
Where is ACS Spring 2027 held?
In New Orleans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on the riverfront, with the ACS Expo in Halls D–E. ACS used the same halls when ACS Spring last met in New Orleans in 2024, and the building's Hall D and Hall E together cover about 230,700 square feet.
What are the ACS Spring 2027 expo hours?
The expo runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 22 and 23 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 24, with Exclusive Expo & Poster Hours from noon to 2 p.m. each day. Monday opens with entertainment at 10:30 a.m., and exhibitors may enter two hours early.
How much does a booth at ACS Spring 2027 cost?
ACS bills the floor space itself through its exhibitor sales portal, where current space prices are shown during booth selection. The exhibit is ours to quote: a 10×20 rental typically lands between $7,500 and $15,000, and a 20×20 custom island between $50,000 and $120,000, moved most by live instruments, screens and drayage weight.
When is move-in and move-out for ACS Spring 2027?
Move-in is Saturday and Sunday, March 20–21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and exhibits have to be complete by 5 p.m. Sunday. Teardown cannot start before the 2 p.m. Wednesday close, and ACS takes priority points from exhibitors who break down early. Move-out ends Thursday at noon.
Can we rent a booth for ACS Spring, and what comes with it?
We rent complete ACS booths: frames, fabric graphics, LED lighting, an instrument-rated counter, a monitor and literature racks that keep everything inside your space. Shipping, the Freeman labor orders and our project manager on site all appear on one fixed price, and the kit returns to our warehouse after New Orleans.
Can our own staff set up the booth in New Orleans?
Your own payroll staff can assemble the exhibit, because Louisiana is a right-to-work state. Moving freight and anything that needs a pallet jack, forklift or lift still belongs to the official contractor, since the Morial Convention Center bars exhibitors from using that equipment. We send our project manager to lead the crew either way.
What does drayage cost for ACS Spring in New Orleans?
You pay it by weight through Freeman, and the 2027 rate appears in the Exhibitor Service Kit in December 2026. For New Orleans we plan on about $155 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum. Benchtop instruments are dense and heavy, so we estimate their weight early and show drayage as a separate figure.
Can we hand out samples and giveaways at ACS Spring?
Giveaways are allowed inside your own booth once ACS Show Management approves them: send contest, demonstration and giveaway plans in writing by February 26, 2027. Nothing may be handed out in aisles or public areas, and ACS enforces a strict no-suitcasing policy. Food and drink, even bottled water, must come from Sodexo Live!.
How many badges come with an ACS Spring booth?
Each 10×10 of 2027 booth space includes two Exhibitor Full Conference badges, which also open the technical sessions. ACS sells Exhibitor Booth Staff Only badges in limited numbers, and the booth personnel portal opens in December 2026 in the Exhibitor Service Center.
Do you handle Freeman orders for ACS Spring?
Freeman is the general service contractor for ACS Spring 2027, and we place the orders once its kit opens in December 2026: material handling, electrical, rigging for any hanging sign and cleaning. We copy you on each confirmation and keep the totals on your proposal so the Freeman invoice holds no surprises.
