Trade show models, yacht hostesses, brand ambassadors and booth staff for the boat show docks, the newly expanded Broward County Convention Center and the waterfront ballroom. Event staffing in Fort Lauderdale from a Broward crew at $85 an hour for every role.

Slip tag$85per hour, any role
Fort Lauderdale staffing starts with the water: half the work here happens on docks and decks, not only in the hall. Purple Exhibits sends local brand ambassadors, yacht hostesses, booth reps and product presenters to the Broward County Convention Center, the boat show marinas, the new waterfront ballroom and the Las Olas and beach hotels. Every role is a flat $85 an hour per person with a four-hour minimum, and our Broward crew means no travel fees. For the boat show, reserve six weeks out; most other shows need three to four weeks, and a rush takes 72 hours.

Matching outfits, clean lines and a team that knows where to stand. This is the finish our booth staff bring to a stand, and it is the standard we hold for every dock, hall and ballroom booking in Broward.

Tell us your brand colors and the setting. We match the outfits across the whole crew, so a dock, a booth and an evening reception all read as one brand.

Getting in. The Convention Center Connector, opened in October 2025, takes cars from U.S. 1 and State Road 84 straight to the center and the Omni, with no port security checkpoint. Freight trucks still follow Port Everglades rules.
Labor. The center is non-union in a right-to-work state. Our staff greet, demo, scan and host; rigging, electrical, internet and catering are the center’s own services.
Dock-ready, sun-smart and briefed on your boats. These are the five roles we send most in Broward.

Hosts who welcome guests at the gangway, run the shoe station and keep the boarding list moving.

Ambassadors for marine electronics and gear brands who start the conversation and hand off warm leads.

Presenters who run short demos at convention center booths and answer the first round of questions.

Hosts for waterfront lounges and owner appointments who greet, seat and log every guest.

Reps with a tablet who qualify boat buyers, capture details and book follow-up calls for your brokers.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs for five days in late October or early November, across the convention center and several marinas linked by shuttles and water taxis. Each site needs a different kind of host.
Engines, electronics, gear and accessories. Booth reps and product presenters who scan and qualify.
The busiest docks. Yacht hostesses at each gangway and a greeter at the head of the pier.
Smaller boats and tenders. Ambassadors who move guests between boats and keep a sign-up list.
Brokers and builders in the water. Hostesses who manage boarding and pass leads to your sales team.
Large yachts and owner visits. Hosts used to private appointments and quiet decks.
The biggest boats at the show. VIP hosts for appointment-only boarding and guest lists.
Site names follow the organiser’s published show map. The layout can change year to year, so we confirm your slip or booth before we brief the crew.

Hosting on a deck is not the same job as standing at a booth. These are the habits we brief before anyone sets foot on a dock.
Most boats ask guests to board barefoot. Our hostess runs the shoe station, keeps pairs together and watches the line so the gangway stays clear.
There is little shade on a pier. Hats, water and sunscreen are packed, and dock staff swap into shade on a set rotation.
Late-October afternoons can still feel like summer. We plan breathable, brand-colored outfits and a dry change for evening events.
Staff never step aboard without the captain or broker’s say-so, and they know which decks and cabins are closed to guests.
At private appointments the host greets, logs the visit and steps back. The broker leads the tour.
A passing squall closes the docks for an hour. Staff move guests to the tent or the hall and restart the boarding list after.
Four calendar facts we plan Broward shifts around.
The Atlantic hurricane season. Outdoor events carry a weather plan, and we keep extra standby staff on call.
The busiest storm weeks. If a show changes dates for a storm, call us right away and we will work to crew the new days.
Dry, sunny season. Hotels fill with winter visitors, so set your room block early.
Port Everglades terminals are a few minutes from the center. Weekend sailing days add traffic around 17th Street.
Typical months, not fixed dates. Check each organiser’s dates for the year, then lock in your crew.
A broker with three yachts at Bahia Mar needs four people every day: a hostess at each gangway and one greeter at the head of the dock. Here is that team from our Broward roster, next to the same team flown in during the busiest hotel week of the Fort Lauderdale year.
