The short answer

Booth staffing in Indianapolis

Indianapolis is one of the easiest big-show cities to work: the convention center, the stadium and twelve hotels are linked by enclosed skywalks. Purple Exhibits staffs the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, the connected hotels and race-month events with local booth reps, demo hosts, brand ambassadors, hostesses and models at a flat $85 an hour per person. Our Indy crew knows the skywalk routes, the gaming and fire-service crowds and how the city changes in May. Book four to six weeks ahead for Gen Con and FDIC, three weeks for most shows, and 72 hours for a rush.

A Gen Con booth in Indianapolis, priced

A four-day gaming booth needs four people: two demo hosts at the tables, a greeter and a sales lead. Here is that team from our Indianapolis roster, next to the same team flown in during one of the busiest hotel weeks in the city.

Caution flags

Six Indianapolis mistakes we help exhibitors avoid

Caution 1

Booking Gen Con late

Gen Con fills downtown and local talent quickly. Book four to six weeks out.

Caution 2

Treating fire-service buyers like consumers

FDIC visitors are firefighters and chiefs. They want specs and straight answers.

Caution 3

Forgetting race month

In May, downtown hotels and staff calendars fill around the race. Plan early.

Caution 4

Not using the skywalks

Staff in connected hotels arrive faster and dry. We plan routes for multi-venue shows.

Caution 5

One booth, two buildings

Shows that spill into the stadium need a runner between floors.

Caution 6

Assuming right-to-work means self-install

Indiana is right-to-work, but the convention center uses union labor for install and freight. Our staff stick to greeting, demos and leads.
