What makes NWFA Expo different, and how we build for it
NWFA Expo is the National Wood Flooring Association's own show, and it is built for people who judge a floor with their hands and feet. The Exhibitor Directory and Floor Plan fill with mills, finish makers and tool brands, the Hardwood Floors Exhibitor Showcase puts new product in front of the trade, the Sponsor Gallery is where the big names stake their claim, and the Exhibitor Hub holds every form and deadline. Attendees are installers, contractors, distributors and inspectors who have read Hardwood Floors Magazine for years and can tell a sawn face from a sliced one at a glance. A booth wins here when the material is installed at room scale and the craft is demonstrated, not described.
A cross-section or assembly detail they can put a hand on, a stable demo surface for tools, adhesives and finishes, and a specialist who answers a technical question in one sentence.
Panels large enough to show pattern and natural variation, species and finish labels that stay attached, consistent comparison light and a counter for range and terms talks.
An installed architectural view at room scale plus a separate technical sample, with board width, edge detail and finish shown at the size they will specify.

Booth options for NWFA Expo 2027
Pick a footprint. We’ll price it as a rental, a custom build, or a hybrid.
NWFA Expo floors mix 10×10 inlines from tool and adhesive brands with 20×20 and larger islands from the mills and finish houses that install real floors. Most Purple clients here choose a 10×20 with an installed hero surface or a 20×20 island with a demo station and a meeting table.

One installed floor panel of 40 to 60 square feet, a compact sample rack by species and finish, and a stool for a technical conversation.

A room-scale installed surface with a clean border, a sample library by construction or finish, and a small counter for dealer talks.
See 10×20 rental booths →
An installed floor across the whole island, a sanding or finishing demo station on its own footprint, and an open meeting table under a hanging sign.
See 20×20 rental booths →
A sequence of installed patterns and species, a working demo theater with audience space, a private distributor meeting room and crate storage inside the walls.
See 20×30 rental booths →All-in 2026 ranges for design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle; booth space, drayage and show services are separate. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show. Designing for wood flooring, finish and installation brands at NWFA Expo
Four things we get right for NWFA Expo exhibitors

Install the floor at room scale
One installed hero surface first. We build a room-scale floor of 80 to 200 square feet with a clean border and a deliberate pattern direction, on a raised subfloor that levels the hall slab and hides the transitions. Visitors read width, grain and finish across a real space before a single sample leaves the rack.

Light the finish, not the fixture
Grazing light shows texture but distorts a finish comparison. We test your actual boards under the proposed fixtures at several angles, keep colored spill off the material and give the sample library a consistent, neutral light so a buyer compares products, not lighting effects.
Engineer the weight and the edges
A flooring booth carries weight even when it looks simple. We build the surface in replaceable modules, record the grain orientation so the crew reproduces it exactly, engineer the rack loads and design foam-lined crates so no board arrives with a chipped edge or a scuffed finish.
Give the demo its own footprint
A sanding, finishing or tool demonstration needs a stable surface, a spot for the presenter, an audience position and a reset point. We put it on its own footprint with dust and cleanup handled, and keep the sample counter and seating out of the work zone.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this
You see the booth in 3D before we cut a single panel: layout, graphics, lighting and product positions, revised until it is right. Shown: a Purple concept for Chroma Specialty Chemicals.

Logistics for NWFA Expo 2027, handled
The Fort Worth Convention Center at 1201 Houston Street is a right-to-work building, so our own crew installs any size booth with its own tools and no union call. Electrical, rigging, internet and cleaning are exclusive to the center, and the Fort Worth Fire Department signs off covered and multilevel plans and expects flame-certified fabrics. Drayage runs about $90 per hundredweight, so we pack flooring modules by weight and ship to the advance warehouse on target. The historic arena is being rebuilt as new exhibit space, and we route freight around that construction. Our certificate of insurance naming NWFA and the City of Fort Worth is on file, and DFW is 25 to 30 minutes from the hall.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Fort Worth Convention Center exhibitor guide.

NWFA Expo exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before NWFA Expo
How much does a 20×20 at NWFA Expo cost?
A complete 20×20 island runs $16,000 to $40,000 as a rental and $50,000 to $120,000 custom, covering design, structure, graphics and installation. The installed floor and rack weights move the number, so send us board sizes, square footage and demo plans and we return a fixed quote.
Can you install at the Fort Worth Convention Center?
Yes. The Fort Worth Convention Center is a right-to-work hall, so our own crew installs any size booth with its own tools. We level the subfloor, lay your product, set the sample racks and demo station, and run a pre-show checklist before your team lands at DFW.
Can we rent a booth for NWFA Expo?
Yes. We offer rental structures with your graphics, custom sample walls and installed floor modules, or a mix. A 10×10 rental starts at $3,500 and a 10×20 at $7,500. Many first-time NWFA exhibitors rent the shell and invest in one real installed surface.
When do we need to decide?
Design sign-off by mid-February 2027 gives a comfortable 30 to 45 day build in Fishkill and an early April ship date to the advance warehouse. Later is possible; the trade-off is finish choices, lighting options and freight cost as the late April move-in nears.
Do you handle the NWFA service orders and drayage?
Yes. We read the NWFA exhibitor kit, file every form in the Exhibitor Hub that concerns the booth, order center-exclusive electrical and rigging, book your freight targets and handle drayage paperwork at about $90 per hundredweight, and copy you on every deadline.
