What makes NASCC different, and how we build for it
NASCC: The Steel Conference, run by AISC, is where the people who design, detail, fabricate and erect steel buildings and bridges spend three days together. Alongside the main program sit the World Steel Bridge Symposium, QualityCon, SafetyCon, Architecture in Steel, the NISD Conference on Steel Detailing and the SSRC Annual Stability Conference, so the hall fills with engineers between sessions and at the Welcome Reception. These are technical buyers earning PDHs. They want to see the connection, run the software and talk to someone who knows the code, not collect a brochure.
A live screen running your design or detailing software on a real model, and a stool where they can ask how it handles their connection types.
Machines, tooling and connection hardware they can see working or hold in hand, with someone who can talk throughput, setup and service.
Clear project references, finish and coating samples, and a quiet table for a longer conversation away from the aisle.

02 Booths & pricing for NASCC 2027
Popular booth sizes at NASCC
AISC sells NASCC space in 10×10 units with back and side drape, so most exhibitors take a 10×10 or 10×20 inline with a screen and product on the counter, while machinery builders and large software houses take islands. We recommend a 10×20 with two demo stations, or a 20×20 when a machine runs.

Two demo stations for design and detailing software plus a product plinth for bolts, decking or anchor samples.

Case study · Shapoorji Pallonji
Shapoorji Pallonji at a engineering and infrastructure exhibition
A structured, powerful booth for a global engineering group founded in 1865, built to communicate scale, trust and engineering excellence.
Different sector, same buyer: Shapoorji Pallonji needed a booth that proved engineering scale and trust, which is what NASCC engineers and fabricators look for before they stop.

04 Designing for structural steel software, fabrication equipment and steel product suppliers at NASCC
Four things we get right for NASCC exhibitors
1Plan the machine before the booth
Saws, drill lines, plasma tables and welding cells set the footprint. We take weights, dimensions and power from your spec sheets, plan the floor loading and guarding, and book the heavy machinery appointment so the machine is placed before any walls go up.
2Make the software demo readable
Engineers will stand and watch a model rotate for minutes. We give each station a large screen at eye level, a stool, a privacy angle for one-on-one demos and hardwired power, and we plan your own hotspot because the hall has no free Wi-Fi.
Put real steel within reach
Fabricators trust what they can hold. A cut connection, a coated sample, a deck profile or a bolt assembly on a lit plinth starts more conversations than a render. We build mounts that carry the weight and let visitors pick pieces up safely.
Cover the concrete, cushion the feet
The NASCC hall is not carpeted and every booth floor must be fully covered, with no concrete showing. We spec padded carpet or rubber flooring that handles a machine footprint, hides cables and keeps your staff comfortable through the long Thursday, open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this
You see the booth in 3D before we cut a single panel: layout, graphics, lighting and product positions, revised until it is right. Shown: a Purple concept for Italica.

Logistics for NASCC 2027, handled
The Colorado Convention Center sits under the Colorado Labor Peace Act, so it is neither right-to-work nor a union-shop building: exhibitors may set small displays themselves in under an hour without tools, and anything larger goes through IATSE Local No. 7 or Freeman, the official NASCC service provider. Move-in runs April 9 to 13, heavy machinery by appointment, with all freight at the booth by 5 p.m. on April 13. Electricity and internet come from the building's exclusive providers. We read the Freeman manual, order power and flooring, ship to the advance warehouse and install with our own project manager and vetted local labor.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Colorado Convention Center exhibitor guide.
Hall guide
The Colorado Convention Center puts all of its exhibit space on one level. These are the spaces the building uses for a show like NASCC, and what each means for a steel exhibitor.
584,000 sq ft of exhibit space on one level, combinable in several layouts. The NASCC floor is not carpeted, and every booth floor must be fully covered.
Our advice: Plan padded carpet or rubber flooring into the budget from the start, rated for a machine footprint and laid before equipment is placed.
Added in the 2005 expansion for general sessions and large events, with rigging points that differ from the exhibit halls.
Our advice: Engineers come out of sessions in waves, so staff your software stations for the breaks and keep demos short enough to finish before the next session.
The Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center links directly to the building, a short walk from the exhibit floor.
Our advice: Book staff rooms here or near the 16th Street Mall so your team can reset demos and restock samples between the long Thursday hours.

Questions exhibitors ask us before NASCC
How much does a booth at NASCC 2027 cost?
Our rentals start at $3,500 for a 10×10 and run $7,500 to $15,000 for a 10×20; a custom 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000. At NASCC the number moves with machine guarding, flooring and demo screens. Booth space is billed by AISC and services by Freeman, separately from our fixed proposal.
What is the deadline to order a booth for NASCC 2027?
AISC posts the full move-in schedule in December and opens hotel reservations in January, and all freight must be at the booth by 5 p.m. on April 13, 2027. We need design sign-off by late January to build in 30 to 45 days and ship to the advance warehouse by mid-March.
Can we rent a booth for NASCC, and what does a rental include?
Yes. AISC's space comes with an 8 ft back drape, 3 ft side drapes and an ID sign, but no furniture, floor covering or utilities. Our rental replaces the drape with a branded wall and adds counters, demo screens, lighting, flooring, shipping, install and dismantle, all on one proposal.
Can we set up our own booth at the Colorado Convention Center?
A full-time employee may set a display that takes under 60 minutes without mechanized tools. Anything needing a dolly, forklift or longer setup goes through IATSE Local No. 7 or Freeman, under Colorado's Labor Peace Act. We install with our own project manager and vetted local labor, so you arrive to a finished booth.
Can we bring heavy machinery to NASCC?
Yes. Heavy machinery moves in by appointment only from April 9 to 12, 2027, before general move-in, and leaves by appointment on April 17. We take weights, dimensions and power from your spec sheets, book the appointment, plan floor loading and guarding, and build the booth around the machine once it is placed.
What does drayage cost at NASCC and who pays it?
Freeman bills material handling to you by weight. Our Denver planning rate for 2026 and 2027 is about $160 per hundredweight with a 200 lb minimum, so a single machine crate can outweigh the rest of the booth. We estimate from your shipping weights, consolidate crates and list the figure on your proposal.
Does the NASCC exhibit hall have carpet?
No. The hall is bare concrete and AISC requires every booth floor to be fully covered with no concrete showing, either with your own flooring or a Freeman rental. We spec padded carpet or rubber tiles that hide cable runs, carry a machine and keep staff comfortable through the 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Can we reuse the NASCC booth at other shows?
Steel and construction suppliers often take the same kit to AISTech in Nashville, the AIA Conference on Architecture in Philadelphia or Fastener Fair USA in Louisville. We build modular walls and product plinths that reconfigure between a 10×20 and an island, and store everything between shows.
Do you handle Freeman orders for NASCC?
Freeman is the official NASCC service provider, and we order flooring, rigging and material handling there, place electrical and internet with the building's exclusive providers and book the machinery appointment. You get one schedule covering every order, so nothing is missed between December and move-in.
Before you sign with anyone
Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for NASCC:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
