Their label, your plant: PLMA Private Label Show 2027 booths in Rosemont

PLMA buyers are looking for a plant to make their own store brand, so we build booths that show your range in retailer-style packs, your plant credentials and a table for Matchmaker meetings. At the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center we route crates to its 16 depressed docks and file Illinois flame certificates.

What makes PLMA Private Label Show different, and how we build for it

At PLMA, retailers shop for manufacturers rather than brands.Exhibiting is open only to makers whose products are available for private label distribution, plus ingredient, packaging and logistics suppliers. PLMA's 2026 floor plan puts food, snacks and beverages in the North Hall and Sky Hall and health, beauty, household and general merchandise in the South Hall, with national pavilions in all three. Buyers book booth meetings through PLMA Matchmaker, and PLMA points them first to the New Product Expo inside the World of Ideas. With two floor days to cover three halls, buyers decide quickly whether you can make their label.

Store brand buyers and category managers

To picture your product on their shelf under their own name, with the specification, cost and fill-rate story that lets them add it to a store brand program across every banner.

Wholesalers, co-ops and foodservice distributors

Case packs, pallet patterns, minimum runs and lead times for the independent stores and kitchens they supply, with pricing that leaves room for their own margin.

International retailers and importers

Export-ready specifications, labeling for their market and container-load pricing, with someone at the booth who can talk freight terms and shelf life in transit.

Rules that shape your booth

Exhibitors must offer private label

Exhibiting is open to consumer-packaged goods manufacturers whose products are available for private label retail distribution, plus ingredient, flavor, packaging, logistics and ESG service providers. We build the booth around what a retailer can put its own name on, with any branded line kept secondary.

Organizer rule

Halls assigned by product category

PLMA assigns booths on receipt of application and payment, product category and space availability, in separate halls for Food & Beverage and for Home, Health & Self-Care. We design to the hall you land in: cold cases and tasting space for food, lit shelving for nonfood.

Organizer rule

Large islands set up early through RES

Early set-up for island displays of 600 square feet and larger, six units and up, runs the Thursday before opening and must be scheduled through RES, Rosemont Exposition Services (2026 rules). We book that slot for your island and crate the structure so it stands before the shelving goes in.

Organizer rule

Visitors are screened before badges

Retailers and other visitors submit a registration request, PLMA reviews it, and only approved credentials receive a registration link; exhibiting companies may not use the visitor form. With a pre-screened aisle, we give meeting seats priority over giveaway counters.

Popular booth sizes at PLMA Private Label Show

PLMA sells booth space in units and offers a variety of configurations, up to islands of six units (600 square feet) and more. For a first PLMA we recommend two units with a shelf set and a meeting table; a plant already supplying several national banners earns an island with cold cases and a closed meeting room.

04 Designing for private label food, beverage and nonfood manufacturers at PLMA Private Label Show

Four things we get right for PLMA Private Label Show exhibitors

Overhead view of a worker arranging yellow packs of hard soap in rows1

Dress the shelf in their label

PLMA's sample buyer list names Kroger, Walmart, Costco, Target and Sysco, and each of those buyers wants to picture the product under its own name. We build shelf sets with neutral mock store-brand packs in value, mainstream and premium tiers, so your formulation range reads before your own logo does.

Woman in protective clothing checking cheese during production in a dairy plant2

Put plant capacity on the wall

A category manager walking the PLMA aisles is asking whether your plant can carry a retailer's volume across every banner. We print plant locations, line counts, pack formats, certifications and any Salute to Excellence Award your products have won on an eye-level capability wall that reads from the aisle.

Factory worker in uniform weighing ingredients on a digital scale3

Seat the Matchmaker appointments

Retailers and wholesalers book exhibitor meetings in PLMA Matchmaker, and exhibitors get a preliminary retailer and wholesaler list 30 days before the show. We add a screened table where a cost sheet can lie flat, plus lockable storage for samples and spec binders, so booked meetings and walk-up buyers never compete for one counter.

4

Power the frozen and refrigerated case

PLMA calls out refrigerated, beverages and frozen as the store brand food departments to watch, and refrigerated store brand revenue rose 6.1% in 2025. A reach-in freezer or open cooler needs its own circuit; the building offers 110V, 208V and 480V service. We build the case into the counter, vent the compressor and order power ahead of move-in.

Logistics for PLMA Private Label Show 2027, handled

Every booth at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center goes up with union labor ordered through the show's contractor, since Illinois is not a right-to-work state. Rosemont Exposition Services (RES), the building's on-site exposition firm, draws floor plans and issues exhibitor manuals, and PLMA's 2026 schedule books early island set-up through RES on the Thursday before opening, with other booths following Friday to Sunday and breakdown starting at 4 p.m. on the closing day. Freight reaches 16 depressed docks and seven drive-in freight doors off River Road. We book your set-up slot, ship to the advance warehouse, file Illinois flame certificates and put our own project manager on the floor to lead vetted local installers.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Donald E. Stephens Convention Center exhibitor guide.

Hall guide

The Rosemont venue calendar lists PLMA's 2027 show in Halls A, B, C, D, F and G, and PLMA's 2026 plan splits its floor by product category under its own hall names. Here is what each part means for your booth.

North Hall and Sky Hall

On that plan both hold food, snacks and beverages, including the refrigerated, frozen and beverage departments PLMA calls out, plus wines and spirits with alcohol-free options.

Our advice: Cold lines need power planned early, so we order a circuit for every freezer, cooler and lit shelf and keep sample restock in a locked base cabinet.

South Hall

PLMA's Home, Health & Self-Care section: OTC health and self-care, baby care, beauty, first aid, pet care, household goods, kitchenware, and school and office supplies.

Our advice: Nonfood buyers compare packaging side by side, so we build lit gondola-style shelving that shows each pack size at true retail height.

World of Ideas

Off the main lobby on PLMA's 2026 plan: retailers' store brand packaging from around the world, with the New Product Expo of exhibitor innovations set inside it.

Our advice: If a product of yours is in the New Product Expo, we put the same pack at your booth front so buyers who noticed it there can find you.

Hyatt Regency O'Hare

PLMA's 2026 schedule puts its Sunday seminars and both keynote breakfasts here; the breakfasts run 8 to 9 a.m. and the convention center floor opens at 9.

Our advice: Your team walks from breakfast straight onto the floor, so we finish lighting and shelving the day before and leave only sample restocking for the morning.

PLMA Private Label Show exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before PLMA Private Label Show

How much does a booth at the PLMA Private Label Show 2027 cost?

Count it in PLMA units. Two units as a 10×20 rental run $7,500 to $15,000, or $15,000 to $45,000 built custom; a single unit rents from $3,500, and a custom four-unit island runs $50,000 to $120,000. Here the number moves with mock store-brand packaging, lit shelf sets and any freezer case. PLMA invoices booth space separately.

When should we book PLMA 2027 space and sign off the design?

Apply early, since PLMA weighs when your application and payment arrive as it places booths. Our clock starts with your design approval in early September 2027: production takes 30 to 45 days in Fishkill, and the crates must land at the advance warehouse roughly three weeks ahead of move-in.

Can we rent a booth for PLMA, and what comes with it?

Yes. Our PLMA rental pairs a reusable frame with what this show needs: retail-style shelving, capability wall graphics, mock store-brand packs, lighting and a meeting table, plus freight, install and dismantle on one fixed proposal. After Rosemont the frame comes back to us, and the shelving and printed packs can travel to your next sourcing show.

Can our team set up our own booth at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center?

Only within limits. Illinois has no right-to-work statute, so booth assembly goes to union labor, and the PLMA exhibitor kit sets what your staff may hand-carry and place. PLMA's 2026 schedule routes early island set-up through Rosemont Exposition Services. We book that labor, direct it with our own project manager and design shelving that locks together in minutes.

Can we show our own branded products at the PLMA show?

You can, as long as you also make product a retailer can sell under its own name; PLMA's exhibitors include national brand makers that also supply store brands. Since buyers here are sourcing their own label, we put your branded line on a side shelf and lead with the formats, pack sizes and specs a retailer can put its name on.

What does drayage cost at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center?

Purple's 2026 Rosemont planning figure is $145.00 per hundredweight on crates that come in through the advance warehouse, a rate that covers storage, delivery to your booth, return to the dock and reloading. You pay it, at the rate in the PLMA exhibitor kit. Sample cases and printed packs add weight quickly, so we ship shelving flat, weigh every crate and print the drayage estimate on your proposal.

Which hall will our booth be in at PLMA?

It follows product category. On PLMA's 2026 plan, food, snacks and beverages share the North Hall and Sky Hall and nonfood lines fill the South Hall, with international exhibitors in all three. If you make both food and nonfood lines, the category your application leads with sets your neighbors and the buyers walking past, so we settle it with you before you apply.

Can we reuse our PLMA booth at other shows?

We build the shelf sets and capability wall to travel. The same booth fits the NGA Show in Las Vegas, the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Indianapolis and IDDBA in Atlanta, swapping mock store-brand packs for your own branded graphics where the audience changes. Between shows we store it, replace scuffed panels and send it to the next advance warehouse.

We are exhibiting from outside the US. Can you help?

Yes. Over 60 countries exhibited at PLMA in 2025, most of them in 54 national pavilions. If your company takes its own space, we run the US side: design, build in Fishkill, NY, freight to the advance warehouse, install, dismantle and storage until next November. Your product shipments and customs clearance stay with your own broker.

When is PLMA's Private Label Show 2027?

The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center's calendar puts PLMA's 2027 Private Label Show on Monday and Tuesday, November 15–16, 2027, in Halls A, B, C, D, F and G. PLMA's 2026 schedule opens the week with Sunday: A Day of Learning at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare. Custom booths need design sign-off by early September 2027.

Where is PLMA's Private Label Show 2027 held?

PLMA returns to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois (5555 N River Rd), the building it used for its 2024 and 2025 shows and has booked for 2026; PLMA's press releases list it under Chicago. The venue sits five minutes from O'Hare International Airport and 20 minutes from downtown, within walking distance of many Rosemont hotels.

How many people attend the PLMA Private Label Show?

PLMA counted upwards of 14,000 people at its 2025 show, retailers, exhibitors and visitors together, with more than 1,900 exhibitors from 63 countries in more than 3,000 booths. The 2024 show drew some 14,000 and 1,821 exhibitors, 700 of them first-timers, and the 2023 show more than 13,000 with a then-record 1,685 exhibitors.

Is the PLMA Private Label Show open to the public?

No. Each visitor files PLMA's visitor registration request, PLMA checks the person's credentials, and only approved visitors receive the official registration link; exhibiting companies may not use that form. The aisles are meant for store brand buyers from supermarkets, drug chains, mass merchandisers, wholesale clubs, dollar stores and e-commerce platforms, plus wholesalers, importers and exporters.

How do I get a booth at the PLMA Private Label Show?

Start with PLMA's Request to Exhibit form, which is not a registration: PLMA sends the exhibitor application link afterward and quotes booth pricing directly. Space goes to private label manufacturers and their ingredient, packaging and logistics suppliers, assigned by application and payment receipt, product category and space. Once your units and hall are set, we draw the booth.

Before you sign with anyone

Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for PLMA Private Label Show:

  1. Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
  2. Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
  3. Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
  4. What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
  5. Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
