DCAT Week sells no booth space, so we help DCAT member companies make a hotel meeting suite look like their company, with portable graphics that fit a converted guest room. Then we build the booth for the shows where you do exhibit, from INTERPHEX at the Javits Center to CPHI Americas.

What makes DCAT Week different, and how we build for it
DCAT says it plainly: DCAT Week is not a trade show and offers no booth space.Member companies reserve Business Meeting Space through DCAT in eight Official DCAT Week Hotels, from the InterContinental New York Barclay and Lotte New York Palace to the Waldorf Astoria, and hold private meetings with customers and suppliers behind closed doors. Spaces range from break-out rooms and suites to guest rooms converted into meeting rooms, and members keep a right of first refusal on the same space the next year. Around the meetings sit member-only education programs, the Member Company Networking Reception, two Member Lounges and the DCAT Annual Dinner at the New York Hilton Midtown, a New York tradition since 1926.

DCAT Week rules that shape your booth
DCAT states that DCAT Week is not a trade show and does not offer booth space; members reserve Business Meeting Space instead. We design for a meeting room rather than an exhibit floor.
Business Meeting Space in Official DCAT Week Hotels is reserved only through DCAT and only by registered member companies; members should not contact hotels about it. We work from the room DCAT confirms to you.
Outside food and beverage cannot be brought into meeting spaces at DCAT partner hotels; members order from the hotel's menus. Our suite kits carry graphics and print, never catering.
DCAT's Member Lounges cannot be used for customer or client meetings because privacy cannot be guaranteed and it conflicts with DCAT's antitrust policy. Your branded suite is where the business conversation happens.

Four things we get right for DCAT Week exhibitors
1Brand a converted guest room
Many DCAT Week meeting spaces are hotel rooms converted for meetings. We design lightweight graphics that stand on their own rather than attaching to the room, such as a fabric backdrop behind the meeting table and a printed capability board, packed into one case your team can wheel through the hotel.
2Use the hotel's screen
DCAT says most Business Meeting Spaces in its official hotels have TV screens, apart from larger breakout rooms. We format your capability deck and video loop for that screen and supply a stand-up graphic for rooms where you must order a TV from the hotel's A/V team.
3Food comes from the hotel
DCAT does not allow outside food and beverage in meeting spaces; members order from the menus of the hotel where their space is booked, and can pre-order through DCAT. We keep branded items to printed materials and graphics, and leave catering to the hotel.
4Keep the lounge for networking
DCAT's Member Lounges at the InterContinental Barclay and Lotte New York Palace cannot be used for customer meetings, and staff will ask members to leave if they try. That is why your own meeting suite has to carry your brand, and why we design it to be recognizable at a glance.

DCAT Week spreads across eight Official DCAT Week Hotels a few blocks apart in Midtown Manhattan: The Benjamin Royal Sonesta, The Fifty Sonesta Select, Hotel 48LEX, the InterContinental New York Barclay (host hotel, DCAT Office and education programs), The Lexington Hotel, Lotte New York Palace, San Carlos Hotel and the Waldorf Astoria, with the Annual Dinner at the New York Hilton Midtown. What does Purple do for DCAT Week, then?
We brand your meeting suite: a freestanding fabric backdrop, a capability board and screen content for the hotel TV, packed so your team can carry it in. For the shows where you do exhibit, such as INTERPHEX in New York or CPHI Americas, we design and build the booth itself.
How do we get meeting space at DCAT Week?
Business Meeting Space is reserved only through DCAT and only by registered DCAT member companies, using DCAT's meeting space request form; DCAT asks members not to contact the hotels about it. Members also get a right of first refusal on the same space the following year.

Do we need DCAT membership to attend meetings?
Membership is not needed to attend a meeting you are invited to: customers and suppliers of member companies can visit member meeting spaces without restriction. Registration, member badges, education programs, lounges and networking events are limited to employees of registered DCAT member companies.
Can we bring food or our own equipment into a DCAT meeting space?
Outside food and beverage is not allowed; you order from the menus of the hotel where your space is booked. Most spaces have a TV screen, and if yours does not, you order one through the A/V team named on the hotel's confirmation letter.
Is DCAT Week open to the public?
DCAT Week has no formal registration to be in New York that week, and the official hotels' sleeping rooms are open to the public. DCAT education programs, networking events, member lounges and member badges are only for employees of DCAT member companies, and non-members join the Annual Dinner only as guests of a table-holding member.

The Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association, a not-for-profit business development association headquartered in Robbinsville, New Jersey, whose members include innovator and generic drug makers, CDMOs, ingredient suppliers, packaging companies and service providers.

For exhibiting, we suggest the shows where suppliers to drug makers take booths, such as INTERPHEX at the Javits Center, CPHI Americas and the PDA Annual Meeting. We design one look that works in a DCAT meeting suite and scales into a 10×20 or island booth at those shows.
Can you store our DCAT Week graphics for next year?
We store your suite kit between Weeks. Since DCAT members hold a right of first refusal on the same meeting space each year, the same backdrop usually fits again; we refresh any dated panels and deliver it back to Midtown for DCAT Week 2028, March 20–23.
What is the dress code for the DCAT Annual Dinner?
The DCAT Annual Dinner is black tie: DCAT asks men to wear tuxedos and women evening or cocktail attire. The 99th dinner closes DCAT Week 2027 on Thursday, March 18 at the New York Hilton Midtown, and name badges registered through the table holder's dinner system are the entry ticket.
