We build MD&M East booths so an engineer can pick up the molded part, watch the cell that made it and ask about tolerances in under five minutes. At the Javits we plan union carpenters, Teamster freight and the marshaling yard, and our Fishkill shop sits 70 miles up the Hudson.

What makes MD&M East different, and how we build for it
MD&M East is Informa Markets' East Coast medtech supply show, and it is six expos under one roof: MedTech, Automation, Packaging, Design & Manufacturing, Plastics and Quality, sold as one floor at the Javits.The hall is open only two days, Wednesday 10 to 4 and Thursday 10 to 3. Show Floor Education runs on the Advanced Manufacturing Stage and the MedTech Stage right beside the booths, with 30+ free sessions in Informa's show profile. Rules that shape your MD&M East booth
Informa names Freeman as official contractor, covering everything from booth furniture and freight to labor, rigging, cleaning and utilities, and Informa tells exhibitors to work only with approved vendors. We place every Freeman order for you and copy you on each one.
Informa bills 30 percent from 12 to 9 months out, 60 percent from 9 to 6 months and 100 percent at six months, with cancellation charges on the same scale. We start design once the first payment secures your location.
Exhibitors review the 2027 floor plan, choose a booth size and name their top three show floor locations before talking to Informa's team. We check each option for aisle traffic, stage proximity and rigging points before you choose.
onPeak is the only hotel provider Informa endorses for MD&M East 2027, and the Javits has no on-site parking. We schedule staff arrivals by subway or shuttle and book install labor around the morning dock calls.

Four things we get right for MD&M East exhibitors
1Magnify the part, name it once
A micro-molded component or a laser-cut stent blank disappears on an open counter at MD&M East. We give each hero sample a lit, fixed position with a magnifier or a camera feed, and use the same part names on the display, the literature and the lead form.
2Build light for Javits drayage
Javits material handling is among the most expensive in the country, which we plan at about $195 per hundredweight. We use aluminum frames instead of wood and ship one consolidated, crated load from Fishkill, so a 20×20 can weigh about 1,800 pounds instead of 3,200.
3Two days, so demo from 10 a.m.
With the hall open only Wednesday 10 to 4 and Thursday 10 to 3, a machine that needs an hour of warm-up loses a sixth of the show. We wire compressed air and power on the drawing, test the full cycle at install and keep spares in the counter.
4Sit near the stages, show the process
Show Floor Education on the Advanced Manufacturing Stage and the MedTech Stage pulls engineers into the aisles between talks. We place incoming material, the working equipment and the finished part as one sequence at eye level, so a visitor walking from a session reads the process in seconds.

Informa has not published which Javits halls MD&M East 2027 uses. The building stacks its exhibit halls on two levels, and the level decides how freight moves, per Purple's Javits venue guide.
Level 3 halls (3A, 3B, 3D, 3E)
The primary exhibit level: roughly half a million contiguous square feet, columns every 90 feet and a space frame whose rigging points sit at fixed nodes.
Our advice A hanging sign must sit on the rigging point map, so we place the island's sign on the grid before we finish the drawing.
Level 1 halls (1A to 1E)
About 250,000 square feet with lower clear heights and direct dock access, so freight reaches booths faster during targeted move-in.
Our advice On Level 1 we check the ceiling before drawing anything tall and use the faster dock to bring heavy machines in first.
05 Jacob K. Javits Convention Center · New York
Logistics for MD&M East 2027, handled
The Javits is a union building. Under the Javits rules summarized in Purple's venue guide, exhibitors set up their own booth only if it is 250 square feet or less, built by full-time employees without tools or ladders; everything else is carpenter work, every crate from dock to booth is Teamster material handling billed by weight, and only riggers may hang a sign, from the space frame's set nodes. Trucks check in at the indoor marshaling facility and wait for a dock call, so we label each piece with hall, booth and show name. Freeman is MD&M East's official contractor for labor, rigging, freight and utilities, and move-in hours are not confirmed yet. Our project manager supervises vetted local labor through install and dismantle.

How much does a booth at MD&M East 2027 cost?
Informa prices MD&M East space by show brand and booth option, so space comes from its event team. A Purple booth runs $7,500 to $15,000 for a 10×20 rental and $50,000 to $120,000 for a 20×20 custom island. At the Javits, drayage, union carpenters and compressed air for a running machine move the total most.
When is the MD&M East 2027 expo open?
Wednesday, May 19, 2027 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Javits Center. The event and the expo hall run the same two days. Exhibitor move-in and dismantle hours are not confirmed yet.
When do we pay for MD&M East booth space?
Informa's exhibitor FAQ sets 30 percent due 12 to 9 months before the show, 60 percent from 9 to 6 months and 100 percent six months out, with cancellation charges of 30, 60 or 100 percent on the same scale. Can we rent a booth for MD&M East, and what does a rental include?
A Purple MD&M East rental includes aluminum frame and fabric graphics, LED lighting, a lit sample counter with magnification, lockable storage for parts and spares, freight from Fishkill, install and dismantle on one fixed proposal. Many contract manufacturers rent the structure and own the sample counter, reusing it at MD&M West and MEDevice Boston.
Can our own staff set up our booth at the Javits Center?
Only if the booth is 250 square feet or less, the people building it are full-time employees and no tools or ladders are needed. Anything larger, or anything that needs a screwdriver, is union carpenter work, and freight from the dock is Teamster work. We supervise the carpenters and sign the labor tickets.
What does drayage cost at the Javits for MD&M East?
Freeman charges for dock-to-booth freight by the hundredweight, as set in the MD&M East service kit. For the Javits we plan about $195 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum, and late, off-target or uncrated freight can add 25 to 35 percent. A demo machine often outweighs the booth, so we price it separately.
Can we run a working machine at MD&M East?
Automation, packaging and plastics are three of the six expos on this floor, and Freeman supplies the utilities, labor and rigging a running machine needs. We plan the machine's power and air on the booth drawing, add guarding and a clear operator zone, and keep the demo cycle short enough for an engineer to watch start to finish.
Can we reuse our MD&M East booth at other shows?
We build MD&M East booths for the supplier circuit, so the same sample walls and machine plinths travel on to OMTEC, MEDevice Boston or the Anaheim MD&M West with fresh graphics. Our warehouse holds the kit in between, and part labels get reprinted whenever your catalog changes.
When is MD&M East 2027?
MD&M East 2027 runs Wednesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 20, 2027 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, with the expo open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on day one and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on day two. The previous edition was MD&M East 2025.

No. MD&M East is a trade event for medtech and manufacturing professionals: engineers, buyers, executives and decision-makers registered through Informa. Exhibitors must work only with the approved vendors for the event, and Informa's code of conduct and safety standards apply on the floor.
