Six and a half hours to sell: Northern Green 2027 booths in Saint Paul
We build Northern Green booths that do their work in one focused Wednesday: equipment, plants and hardscape samples set for landscape and snow pros who arrive with a list. Fern handles every shipment, since the RiverCentre refuses direct deliveries, and dock passes are scarce, so we plan a 20-minute unload.

What makes Northern Green different, and how we build for it
Northern Green, run by the Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association and the Minnesota Turf and Grounds Foundation, gives its exhibitors one protected selling day.Four Village Education Days on Tuesday and four on Thursday bookend a Wednesday trade-show-only day, and the floor reopens for three hours Thursday morning, 9.5 hours in total. Booths spread across RiverCentre Exhibit Halls A and B, Lower Wilkins and Upper Wilkins, grouped by specialty, with premium Entrance Square and Rotunda Square spaces near the doors. The day ends with the all-industry Block Party in the RiverCentre Ballroom, and the Big Money Booth Walk sends attendees from booth to booth with prize cards.
Equipment, pavers, wall block and plant material they can price for the coming season, a rep who can talk crew productivity, and a quick answer before the Wednesday floor closes at 3:30.
Plows, spreaders, de-icing products and turf equipment they can see up close, service and parts support for Minnesota winters, and pricing for parks, schools and golf courses.

Inside Northern Green 2027
Northern Green rules that shape your booth
Northern Green allows 8-foot construction only behind a standard booth's midline and 4-foot material ahead of it, and a 20-foot end-cap's back display stays 10 feet wide, 5 feet from center. We draw every wall to those lines.
Northern Green displays must be in final form by 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2027, or the exhibitor may forfeit the space, and no one under 16 may enter the halls during setup. We finish Tuesday night.
Fire demonstrations at Northern Green use propane in containers of 5 pounds or less, 20 feet apart, flammable materials must be fire-retardant, and any tent, canopy or roof needs an extinguisher. We treat fabrics and supply the extinguisher.
All advance and same-day freight for Northern Green goes through Fern with drayage, and the RiverCentre rejects direct shipments; your own forklift works only before 2 p.m. Monday. We consolidate crates onto one Fern delivery.
Northern Green exhibitors may not sublet any part of their space, and the RiverCentre's caterer holds exclusive food and liquor rights, with sampling only by written waiver. We plan booth hospitality through MH Culinary Group.
Programs worth planning for
Eight specialty Villages, from Landscape/Hardscape Contractor to Turf, Grounds and Snow, meet four on Tuesday and four on Thursday; sponsors support the Village of their customers.
Northern Green's traffic-driver game: attendees fill a card by visiting participating booths for a prize drawing; exhibitor entry costs $409, with a maximum of 16 participants in 2027.

1One day carries the show
Wednesday, January 20 is Northern Green's trade-show-only day, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Thursday adds just 8 to 11 a.m. We design for fast reads: an availability or price board at the aisle, demo equipment angled toward traffic and a counter where contractors can sign up for spring delivery.
2Line of sight, 8 feet and 4 feet
Northern Green follows the IAEE line-of-sight rules: an inline booth may rise to 8 feet only in its back half, everything forward of that stays at 4 feet, and a 20-foot end-cap's back display stays 10 feet wide. We keep plows and tall shrubs in the back half and low hardscape up front.
3Protect plants from the cold doors
Northern Green advises plant exhibitors to locate away from move-in doors, because January air at the RiverCentre can injure plant material, and volunteers help find warmer storage until Wednesday morning. We pack plants in insulated crates and load them in last.
4Fire demos under 5 pounds
Fire features and torch demos are allowed at Northern Green when propane stays in containers of 5 pounds or less, 20 feet apart, with a fire extinguisher in the booth, and the fire marshal inspects Tuesday or Wednesday. We spec fire pit displays to that limit and bring the extinguisher.

Logistics for Northern Green 2027, handled
Fern is the Northern Green decorator: advance and same-day shipments must go through Fern and carry a drayage fee, because the Saint Paul RiverCentre will not accept direct deliveries. Northern Green assigns each exhibitor a load-in slot, posted in late November 2026, with 20 minutes to unload before vacating the move-in zone. Dock passes mostly go to top sponsors, Upper and Lower Wilkins each have one drive-in door, and large vehicles park at Saint Paul College Lot D. Electricity and wired internet are ordered through the RiverCentre from December 2026. Booths must be finished by 8:45 a.m. on January 20, and our project manager leads the install with vetted Saint Paul labor.

Booths there may sit outside your specialty grouping, and some exhibitors pair one with a booth in their specialty area.
How many people attend Northern Green?
Northern Green expects about 4,500 green industry professionals in 2027, including almost 2,000 decision-makers, and its prospectus gives an average registered attendance of 5,000. Landscape contractors made up 36 percent of 2026 attendees, designers 34 percent and hardscape installers 29 percent, and many listed more than one specialty.
Is there a booth height limit at Northern Green?
Northern Green uses the IAEE line-of-sight regulations: in a standard booth the 8-foot maximum height applies only to the rear half, and everything in the front half stays under 4 feet. Hanging signs depend on your booth location, so Northern Green staff connect you with RiverCentre staff for approval.
Can we drive equipment into the Northern Green booth?
Vehicles can be driven into booths in Upper and Lower Wilkins, though each hall has one drive-in door, so most are unloaded in a staging area near it. Gas caps must be taped or locked, batteries disconnected and fuel kept under a quarter tank or 5 gallons. Your own forklift is allowed before 2 p.m. Monday.
Who is the Northern Green decorator, and can we ship to the RiverCentre?
Fern is the decorator. Every advance and same-day shipment must go through Fern and incurs drayage; the RiverCentre does not accept shipments sent directly. Fern's OneView portal handles carpet and furniture, which booth rental leaves out. We route freight to Fern and put every order on your proposal.
What does a Northern Green booth rental include?
Space comes with an 8-foot pipe-and-drape back wall, 3-foot draped side rails, a company ID sign, light-use Wi-Fi and a listing on NorthernGreen.org and in the program. Tables, chairs, carpet, electricity and wired internet are extra. One booth includes four trade-show-only passes; three or four booths add an education pass.
Can we give away food or coffee at Northern Green?
Only with written permission from the Saint Paul RiverCentre in advance, plus a Minnesota Department of Health permit if a waiver is granted. MH Culinary Group holds the exclusive food, beverage and liquor rights, and outside food may not be delivered for booth staff. We order booth catering or a keg through MH Culinary for you.
When is move-in and move-out for Northern Green 2027?
Move-in runs Monday, January 18 from noon to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, January 19 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., within the slot Northern Green assigns. Booths must be finished by 8:45 a.m. Wednesday. Teardown is Thursday, January 21 from 12:30 to 5 p.m.; anything left after move-out draws a $499 penalty.

Northern Green holds rooms at the Hampton Inn & Suites ($121), Courtyard by Marriott ($129), Holiday Inn St. Paul Downtown ($128) and The Saint Paul Hotel ($149), booked directly with each hotel. Rates at most hotels rise after December 18, 2026, and no third-party housing company is authorized.
Is Northern Green worth exhibiting at?

Can we reuse our Northern Green booth at other shows?
A two-unit modular booth moves easily from Saint Paul to MANTS (Baltimore, one week earlier), iLandscape (Schaumburg, late February) and Cultivate (Columbus, July). We keep the back wall under 8 feet for Northern Green's rules, swap graphics per region and store the kit between shows.
