Torque, vision, robots: The ASSEMBLY Show 2027 booths built for Rosemont
We build ASSEMBLY Show booths where an engineer can pick up the tool, watch the joint get made and see it inspected, because that is how this audience buys. At the 2026 show Rosemont Exposition Services riggers place every machine; for 2027 we file the rigging orders and the running-demo request with the contractor BNP Media names.

What makes The ASSEMBLY Show different, and how we build for it
The ASSEMBLY Show is where engineers who put products together shop for the tools that do it: screwdrivers and torque controllers, presses, feeders, cobots, vision and leak test.ASSEMBLY magazine and BNP Media ran it in Rosemont in October 2024, 2025 and 2026, and in 2026 The Quality Show shares the floor, with ASQ's free sessions at the ASQ Center and the ASQ Measurement Quality Division conference. SMTA International is co-located under the same roof; in 2025 one badge opened both exhibit halls. Attendees vote in the New Product Awards, ride editor-led guided tours and watch FIRST Illinois Robotics demos. Your booth sits between a nutrunner and a CMM, so the demo has to show the joint and the measurement.
The tool in hand, the torque curve or press-force trace on a screen next to it, and someone who can talk takt time and error-proofing on their line.
Inspection that runs on a real part, the data it records and how it ties into traceability; many of them come for The Quality Show sessions.
A short, clear demo of labor saved, a place to sit and talk cost, and evidence from plants in automotive, medical or appliance assembly.

Inside The ASSEMBLY Show 2027
Rules that shape your ASSEMBLY Show booth
BNP Media's 2026 contract bars operating machinery, loudspeakers, televisions and radios without Management's prior written consent and lets it regulate volume. We send each ASSEMBLY Show demo's noise, guarding and duty cycle for approval well ahead.
Under the 2026 RES labor guidelines riggers unload all machinery and make a one-time spot that you must supervise, while millwrights assemble, level and fit guards. We order both crews with machine weights and attend the spot for you.
In 2026 RES decorators assemble and hang all signs, up to 1,500 pounds, placed by RES around the roof beams, and display-house carpenters may not assemble them. We build light fabric signs and ship them to the RES warehouse by its deadline.
EPA rules in the 2026 manual require water-soluble cutting and grinding fluids to leave the show in approved barrels from the official contractor, never mixed with straight oil, which doubles the charge. We order the right barrels for any machining demo.
For 2026 an outside display company needs RES's EAC form filed five business days before move-in, a certificate of insurance, and installers from a Chicagoland carpenter union local. We file the form and bring compliant labor.
Programs worth planning for
Twenty products across five categories were nominated in 2025, and attendees voted on the winners at the show; 2027 entry terms are not confirmed yet.

Popular booth sizes at The ASSEMBLY Show
BNP Media sells ASSEMBLY Show space by the net square foot, with 8-foot back drape and 3-foot side dividers on inline and peninsula booths, so the floor is mostly 10×20 to 20×20. We suggest a 10×20 for a tool or software demo, and a 20×20 or larger island when a cobot cell or press runs.

Two fastening or dispensing stations at counter height with a live data screen between them, inside the 8-foot back drape line.

Case study · KLEEMANN
KLEEMANN at an industrial technology exhibition
For a global elevator manufacturer, an interactive booth with digital simulations, real product showcases and a floor plan that guided visitors from first step to last.
KLEEMANN guided engineers from a real product to a digital simulation in one booth; an ASSEMBLY Show exhibitor does the same with a live joint and its inspection data.
Read the KLEEMANN case study All case studies →“Purple Exhibits made us look good. The booth was one of the nicest displays in our section of the convention center and generated a lot of positive comments from both customers and industry peers. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond made a huge difference.”

04 Designing for fastening, joining, assembly automation, robotics, test and quality inspection brands at The ASSEMBLY Show
Four things we get right for The ASSEMBLY Show exhibitors
1Get written consent to run
BNP Media's 2026 contract bars operating machinery, loudspeakers and televisions without Management's prior written consent, and lets it regulate volume. We list every running press, cobot and nutrunner with its noise and guarding and submit it early, so the demo is approved before it ships.
2Ship direct, skip Franklin Park
In 2026 show management pays on-site drayage for freight sent straight to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, while the RES advance warehouse in Franklin Park bills $35 per hundredweight and takes no machinery or containers. We plan direct delivery within the published move-in window.
3Two shows, two drape colors
In 2026 The ASSEMBLY Show runs navy drape and carpet, The Quality Show red, with a silver Main Street aisle through both. Inspection and test brands draw Quality visitors; we choose graphics that read against your section's drape and face the booth toward Main Street when we can.
4Staff the Tuesday evening opening
The 2026 hall opens at 4 p.m. Tuesday with the Taste of Rosemont reception on the floor, and Thursday starts with a Morning Mingle breakfast at 9. We build demos that reset in a minute and a counter for food-in-hand conversations, so you sell through both receptions.

Where you could be at The ASSEMBLY Show 2027
The 2027 venue and floor plan are not confirmed yet. In 2026 the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center lists the show in Hall A, and BNP Media's manual splits the floor into two color-coded sections joined by one main aisle.
ASSEMBLY section (2026)
Navy blue back drape with French blue accent panels and navy aisle carpet, for fastening, automation, robotics and assembly tool exhibitors.
Our advice Against navy drape, light-colored graphics and lit headers read best from the aisle; we avoid dark blue backgrounds here.
The Quality Show section (2026)
Red back drape with grey accent panels and red aisle carpet, with ASQ's free presentations at the ASQ Center in the hall.
Our advice Inspection, metrology and test brands meet quality engineers here; we put the measurement result on a screen visible from the aisle.
Main Street (2026)
The main center cross aisle in silver carpet that runs through both sections of the hall.
Our advice A booth facing Main Street sees both audiences; if you get one, we open that face fully and keep storage on the far side.

Logistics for The ASSEMBLY Show 2027, handled
For 2026, Rosemont Exposition Services (RES) is the show contractor at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Illinois work rules let your full-time employees build your booth with their own tools, but any outside installer must be a Chicagoland carpenter union member filed on RES's EAC form five business days before move-in. Riggers unload and spot every machine; millwrights level it and fit its guards. Move-in in 2026 starts October 22 for booths of 400 square feet and up, and exhibits must be finished by 10 a.m. opening day. We file the forms, lead the install with our project manager and book rooms in the show's hotel block.

The ASSEMBLY Show exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before The ASSEMBLY Show
How much does a booth at The ASSEMBLY Show 2027 cost?
BNP Media has not set 2027 prices. For 2026 space ran $36 per net square foot early, $38 after May 15, plus $200 per open corner, so a 20×20 island cost about $16,000. A Purple 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000; a custom 20×20 cell booth $50,000 to $120,000. Rigging and power add to it.
When do we need to book for The ASSEMBLY Show 2027?
The 2027 dates and deadlines are not confirmed yet. For 2026 the early-bird space rate ended May 15, payments followed on May 1 and July 31, insurance certificates were due August 14 and RES discount orders September 25. Plan on approving the design roughly ten weeks ahead of move-in.
Can we rent a booth for The ASSEMBLY Show?
Our ASSEMBLY Show rentals bring a frame with printed graphics, LED lighting, counters at working height for hands-on tools, data screens and lockable storage, delivered, installed and removed on one fixed proposal. Add carpet and furniture, which BNP Media does not include, and we order them from the show contractor for you.
Can our own staff set up our booth in Rosemont?
Under the 2026 RES rules your full-time employees may build and dismantle the booth with hand and power tools. An outside display company needs an EAC form filed five business days before move-in, and its installers must belong to a Chicagoland carpenter union. In 2026 machinery is rigger and millwright work.
Can we run machines and live demos at The ASSEMBLY Show?
Yes, with permission. BNP Media's 2026 contract requires prior written consent to operate machinery or use loudspeakers, and management may limit volume. The 2026 manual adds that indoor engines need the Rosemont Fire Prevention Bureau's written approval, and drones may not fly in the building. We submit the demo details early.
What does drayage cost at The ASSEMBLY Show?
In 2026 show management covers on-site drayage for every shipment sent direct to the convention center. Freight sent to the RES advance warehouse is billed at $35 per hundredweight if it arrives by September 25, then $40, with a 100-pound minimum. Machinery cannot go to that warehouse.
Can we hang a sign over our booth?
In 2026 RES decorators assemble and hang every sign, which must ship to the RES warehouse, weigh no more than 1,500 pounds and go where RES places it relative to the roof beams. Labor costs 20 percent more if ordered late. We design lightweight fabric signs and file the form on time.
Can we reuse our ASSEMBLY Show booth at other shows?
We build the counters, cell base and frames to travel, so the kit can work Automate, Fastener Fair USA or the Design-2-Part Show in Schaumburg with new graphics. Between shows we store it and send it to the next advance warehouse.
When is The ASSEMBLY Show 2027?
The 2027 dates are not confirmed yet. BNP Media has published only the 2026 show, October 27–29, 2026. The 2024 and 2025 shows also ran in late October in Rosemont, and we plan your build the day the 2027 dates are posted.
Where is The ASSEMBLY Show 2027 held?
The 2027 venue is not confirmed yet. The 2026 show is in Hall A of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road in Rosemont near O'Hare, the same building as the 2024 and 2025 editions, with hotels such as the Loews, Hyatt Regency and Hilton connected or a short walk away.
How many people attend The ASSEMBLY Show?
ASSEMBLY magazine counted more than 4,300 manufacturing professionals and 200 exhibiting companies at the 12th annual show in 2024, and announced more than 200 exhibitors for the October 2025 edition. Attendance for 2027 is not confirmed yet.
Is The Quality Show a separate event?
No. In 2026 The Quality Show runs inside The ASSEMBLY Show under one BNP Media contract, with its own red-draped section, ASQ education at the ASQ Center and the ASQ Measurement Quality Division conference. That contract covers either section, and SMTA International is co-located under the same roof.
Who organizes The ASSEMBLY Show?
BNP Media, publisher of ASSEMBLY and Quality magazines, produces the show. You book space with its sales team on the exhibit contract, choose up to three booth numbers from the floor plan, and pay in installments: 40 percent with the contract in the 2026 terms.
Before you sign for ASSEMBLY Show
Ask any ASSEMBLY Show exhibit builder these five questions:
- Is each fee on the proposal, even the ones the show contractor bills?
- Who actually builds it for The ASSEMBLY Show: your shop or a subcontractor?
- Does your project manager stay on the floor through install and dismantle in Rosemont?
- What does the rental include, and what is billed by ASSEMBLY Show?
- Once The ASSEMBLY Show closes, where does the booth go and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? Bring it: we refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it at ASSEMBLY Show and store it until the next show. You keep the structure you paid for and bring it to The ASSEMBLY Show.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground in Rosemont: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready for The ASSEMBLY Show in two to three weeks. You will know on the first call what is realistic for your ASSEMBLY Show date.
