Four plastics expos, one Cleveland floor: AMI Plastics World Expos 2027 booths

We design stands that let a compounder or recycler see your extruder screw, pellet samples and test data inside a two-day, free-entry show. The Huntington Convention Center's 2026 manual says the building takes no advance freight, so we route crates through Freeman's advance warehouse.

What makes AMI Plastics World Expos different, and how we build for it

AMI runs four trade shows as one: Compounding World Expo, Plastics Recycling World Expo, Plastics Extrusion World Expo and Polymer Testing World Expo share the Huntington Convention Center floor, so a single badge walks a buyer from a twin-screw line to a melt-flow tester in minutes. Entry is free for every visitor, which keeps the aisles full of plant engineers rather than a paid delegate list. Four open-air theaters on the show floor run 20-minute technical papers, and only companies that book a stand may submit one. In 2026 the Food Court sits in Hall C, the compounding area, and the official networking party starts right after Wednesday's close.

Compounders and masterbatch producers

Screw and barrel detail they can inspect up close, additive and filler samples in labeled jars, and a quiet corner to compare throughput and energy figures for a line upgrade.

Plastics recyclers and extruders

Proof that a washing, filtration or pelletizing step handles their contaminated feedstock, with before-and-after flake and pellet samples and an engineer who has run the machine.

Polymer testing and quality lab staff

An instrument they can touch on a bench at working height, a live software screen showing real results, and service and calibration terms for their lab.

Your team in Cleveland

Two shops behind your AMI Plastics World Expos booth

Our Fishkill, NY production shop and our Las Vegas hub build the booth, we ship it to the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, and our own project manager runs the AMI Plastics World Expos install on the floor with vetted local labor. Every AMI Plastics World Expos build runs a predictable 30 to 45 days and gets a pre-show QA, with secure storage after.

The booth is lit and stocked when your team reaches the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland. You just show up.

AMI Plastics World Expos rules that shape your booth

No drilling into the hall floor

The Huntington Convention Center's 2026 exhibitor manual prohibits anchoring or drilling into the exhibit floor or any surface. We stand extruders, pelletizers and testers on weighted steel skids with leveling feet instead of floor anchors.

Organizer rule

Edlen connects 208 volts and up

The Center's 2026 manual names Edlen the exclusive electrical and plumbing provider, including compressed air and water; exhibitors may plug in 120-volt gear, but 208-volt and higher equipment needs an Edlen electrician. We order each drop and the connection labor together.

Organizer rule

Official suppliers and build-up deliveries

AMI lists its official furniture, electrics and AV suppliers, with order forms, in the Exhibitor Resource Center, and deliveries reach the venue during designated build-up hours or via Freeman's advance warehouse. We place those orders and time every truck to that schedule.

Organizer rule

Twelve-foot limit on self-unloading

The Center's 2026 manual allows self-unloading only from vehicles with a bed or trailer up to 12 feet, by hand or dolly, with no pallet jacks; larger loads go to the general contractor and Teamsters Local 407. We ship machine freight through Freeman instead.

Organizer rule

Covered stands over 300 square feet

Under the Center's 2026 manual, any covered stand of 300 square feet or more needs non-combustible materials, a battery smoke detector and a 20-pound BC extinguisher, and multi-level stands need a stamped plan. We supply all three with any meeting room roof.

Organizer rule

Programs worth planning for

Open-air conference theaters

Four free open-air theaters on the show floor with 20-minute technical papers judged by an independent panel. Only stand-holding companies may submit, one accepted paper each, no sales talks; the 2026 call closes October 30, 2026.

Popular booth sizes at AMI Plastics World Expos

AMI does not publish stand sizes or rates; space is quoted by its sales team. Machine builders showing a compounding or extrusion section usually need an island, while testing and additive suppliers do well inline. We recommend a 10×20 for lab instruments and a 20×20 or larger for any running equipment.

04 Designing for compounding, extrusion, recycling and polymer testing equipment and materials suppliers at AMI Plastics World Expos

Four things we get right for AMI Plastics World Expos exhibitors

White molded plastic screw caps stacked and standing on edge under violet light1

Power rises from 30-foot floor boxes

Under the Center's 2026 exhibitor manual, power comes up from utility floor boxes set 30 feet on center, and an Edlen electrician must connect anything at 208 volts or above. We place your extruder's control cabinet near a box and send Edlen a scaled island plan before their first move-in day.

Row of plastic extruders with feed hoppers and barrels on a factory floor2

No anchors in a 350-pound floor

The Center's 2026 specifications rate the exhibit halls at 350 pounds per square foot, and its manual bans drilling or anchoring into the floor. We set heavy machine sections on steel skids with load-spreading plates and level them with shims, so a gearbox or die head stays stable for two days without a single bolt.

Close view of polypropylene resin pellets used as raw material for plastics processing3

Jars that tell the recycling story

Plastics Recycling World Expo visitors judge you by the material. We build lit shelving for bale, flake, washed flake and finished pellet, each jar labeled with the feedstock and the melt-flow or contamination figure, so a recycler sees your result before your engineer speaks.

Metal die head at the end of a plastic extruder barrel4

Theater talk, then stand meeting

AMI's four open-air theaters run 20-minute papers from exhibitors only, with no sales talks allowed. When your paper is accepted we print its title and slot on the stand, then design a seated corner where the engineers who heard you can continue the technical conversation.

Where you could be at AMI Plastics World Expos 2027

In 2026 the four expos fill Halls A, B and C on the Exhibit Level of the Huntington Convention Center, 225,000 square feet in all. Your hall follows your expo and stand number, so we plan freight and power once AMI assigns it.

AHall A
BHall B
CHall C
Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, ClevelandSchematic, not to scale
A

Hall A

53,000 square feet with a 25-foot ceiling and one overhead door, per the Center's 2026 specifications.

Our advice The lowest ceiling of the three, so we keep tall extruder sections and hanging signs within clearance and confirm rigging heights with Mills James before production.

B

Hall B

88,500 square feet with a 30-foot ceiling and one overhead door in the Center's 2026 specifications, the largest single hall of the three.

Our advice With one overhead door, heavy machine sections queue for access, so we book an early target slot and crate equipment in the order it stands on the stand.

C

Hall C

83,500 square feet with 30- to 40-foot ceilings and two overhead doors (2026 specifications); in 2026 it holds the compounding area and the Food Court.

Our advice Compounding stands here share traffic with the Food Court, so we open your stand to the aisle that leads to it and keep the sample counter at the front.

Logistics for AMI Plastics World Expos 2027, handled

Freeman runs AMI's advance warehouse, and the Center's 2026 exhibitor manual says the building accepts no advance freight, so crates go to Freeman before show week or arrive during AMI's build-up hours. The same manual allows self-unloading only from vehicles with a bed or trailer of 12 feet or less, by hand or dolly; pallet jacks and anything larger go through the general contractor and Teamsters Local 407. Edlen is the Center's exclusive electrical and plumbing provider, including compressed air and water, and Mills James holds rigging and sign hanging. Venue orders placed 21 days before the first day get the advance rate. Our project manager runs install and dismantle with vetted Cleveland labor.

What Purple handles

  • Stand design scaled to your extruder, pelletizer or lab instrument
  • Edlen power, 208-volt connections and compressed air orders with an island plan
  • Freeman advance-warehouse shipping and material handling
  • Mills James hanging-sign and rigging requests
  • Build-up and tear-down in Cleveland run by our own project manager and vetted labor
  • Storage between Cleveland and NPE or your next plastics show

AMI Plastics World Expos exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before AMI Plastics World Expos

How much does a booth at AMI Plastics World Expos 2027 cost?

For a lab-instrument or additive supplier, a Purple 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000; a custom 20×20 island built around a cutaway extruder or pelletizer runs $50,000 to $120,000. Machine weight, skids, compressed air and 208-volt hookups move the number most here. AMI quotes stand space separately through its sales team.

Can we run a compounding or extrusion line on the stand?

AMI publishes its logistics and health and safety details for exhibitors in the Exhibitor Resource Center, five to six months before the show. Under the Center's 2026 manual, Edlen supplies compressed air and water, anchoring into the floor is banned and an Edlen electrician makes every 208-volt connection, so we plan skids, guarding and power drops early.

Can we rent a booth for AMI Plastics World Expos, and what does it include?

A Purple rental for Cleveland covers the frame, printed fabric, LED lighting, a lockable counter, sample shelving for pellet and flake jars, freight to Freeman's advance warehouse and our install and dismantle, all on one fixed proposal. Machine skids and plinths are quoted as extras sized to your equipment.

Can our own team unload and set up at the Huntington Convention Center?

Partly. Under the Center's 2026 exhibitor manual, you may unload your own vehicle in the POV area if the truck bed or trailer is 12 feet or shorter, using hand carry or dollies, for up to 20 minutes. Pallet jacks, forklifts and larger loads go through the general contractor and Teamsters Local 407.

What does drayage cost at AMI Plastics World Expos, and who pays it?

You pay material handling to Freeman at the rates AMI posts in its Exhibitor Resource Center, which opens five to six months before the show. Extrusion and compounding equipment is heavy, so we price drayage as its own line on your proposal from the real crate and machine weights.

Which hall will our AMI stand be in?

In 2026 the expos fill Halls A, B and C. The Center's 2026 specifications list Hall A at 53,000 square feet with a 25-foot ceiling, Hall B at 88,500 square feet and 30 feet, and Hall C at 83,500 square feet and 30 to 40 feet; Hall C holds the compounding area and Food Court. Your hall follows your expo and stand number.

Can we reuse our AMI stand at other shows?

We build Cleveland stands in modules so the sample walls, skids and graphics can travel to NPE in Orlando, CAMX in Anaheim or the Ceramics Expo back in Cleveland. Between shows we store the kit, and we reprint graphics for whichever audience comes next.

Do you handle Freeman and venue service orders?

We do. We place your Freeman material handling and advance-warehouse labels, plus the Huntington Convention Center orders for Edlen electrical and air, Mills James rigging and internet, through the venue's online Exhibitor Services Center; its 2026 manual adds a 3 percent fee to card payments. Each order goes in before the 21-day advance-rate cutoff.

When is AMI Plastics World Expos 2027?

Wednesday and Thursday, November 10–11, 2027, in Cleveland. In 2026 the floor opened 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days; the 2027 hours are not confirmed yet. AMI has already published the next dates: November 15–16, 2028, November 14–15, 2029 and November 20–21, 2030.

Where is AMI Plastics World Expos 2027 held?

At the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, 300 Lakeside Avenue, downtown on the lakefront, the venue AMI names with its published dates through 2030. The Hilton Cleveland Downtown sits directly above the expo halls, and the 1,200-space Huntington Park Garage connects directly to the Center.

How many people attend AMI Plastics World Expos?

AMI reported 5,453 attendees, 352 exhibitors and 103 speakers from 61 countries at the 2025 expos. In 2024 the Cleveland expos drew 5,676 visitors and 376 exhibitors, and in 2023 AMI counted 5,134 attendees and 347 exhibitors.

Is AMI Plastics World Expos open to the public?

Entry to the exhibition and the conference sessions is free for every registered visitor, and registration opens six months before the show. For safety, children under 16 are not allowed on the show floor, and exhibitor staff must register as exhibitors, not visitors, to get the right badges.

Who organizes AMI Plastics World Expos and how do we book a stand?

Applied Market Information LLC, AMI, based in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, runs the four expos. You choose Compounding, Recycling, Extrusion or Polymer Testing on AMI's become-an-exhibitor form, and a member of AMI's team contacts you to discuss your stand and participation.

Ask these before you sign

Ask any AMI Plastics World Expos exhibit builder these five questions:

  1. Is each fee on the proposal, even the ones the show contractor bills?
  2. Who actually builds it for AMI Plastics World Expos: your shop or a subcontractor?
  3. Does your project manager stay on the floor through install and dismantle in Cleveland?
  4. What is inside the rental price, and what is billed by the show?
  5. Once AMI Plastics World Expos closes, where does the booth go and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it to the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for and bring it to AMI Plastics World Expos.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We handle the ground work for AMI Plastics World Expos: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager replying to your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A AMI Plastics World Expos rental carrying your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic before AMI Plastics World Expos.
