What makes SynBioBeta different, and how we build for it

SynBioBeta sells itself as four days in one room for bio, AI and capital, and its numbers back that up: SynBioBeta reports that 74 percent of attendees are decision-makers and 47 percent are startups and investors. The 2027 program runs six themes, from AIxBio and Tools & Platforms to BioSolutions, Human Health & Longevity, BioDefense & Biosecurity and Capital Markets, Venture & Philanthropy. Exhibitors pick a numbered booth on a live floor plan, with a Startup Pavilion and an AI Pavilion Table alongside 10×10 to 20×20 booths, and every package adds poster session participation and the Tuesday and Wednesday cocktail hours.

Founders and startup teams

Introductions to the corporate partners and investors in the room, a place to show a strain, enzyme or platform result in one glance, and peers who have scaled a biomanufacturing process before.

Corporate scouts and biomanufacturing leads

Startups with data they can evaluate quickly, partners for fermentation scale-up, tools and automation that shorten design-build-test cycles, and a quiet corner to talk licensing.

Venture, corporate VC and private equity investors

Founders who can explain the market as well as the biology, a short demo that proves the platform works, and contact details that make a follow-up meeting easy.

Your team in San Jose

Built in two shops, run by one project manager

We fabricate in our own Fishkill, NY shop and our Las Vegas hub, then ship to the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, where our own project manager leads the install with vetted local labor. Turnaround is a predictable 30 to 45 days, with pre-show QA and secure storage for your SynBioBeta booth.

When your team gets to San Jose, the booth is lit and stocked. You just show up.

Rules that shape your SynBioBeta booth

Booths are picked on a live plan

SynBioBeta sells numbered booths on its Pick Your Booth floor plan, where green booths are open and sold ones are marked, and the 2027 plan lists only two 20×20s still open. We hold your design to the footprint you claim.

Organizer rule

Passes come counted per booth

A SynBioBeta 10×10 includes two conference passes, a 10×20 three and a 20×20 four; the Startup Pavilion table includes one, with extras at $595. We plan staffing and booth seating to the passes you hold.

Organizer rule

Pavilion tables, not walls

The Startup Pavilion package is a high-boy table with two stools rather than a walled booth, and the floor plan adds an AI Pavilion Table. We build tabletop graphics that stand on the table instead of a back wall.

Popular booth sizes at SynBioBeta

SynBioBeta sells four booth packages: a Startup Pavilion high-boy table, a 10×10, a 10×20 and a 20×20, with only a few 20×20s on the plan. Startups usually take the pavilion table. We recommend the 10×20 for tools and automation companies that want a demo and a seat.

04 Designing for synthetic biology, biomanufacturing, lab automation and AI-for-biology companies at SynBioBeta

Four things we get right for SynBioBeta exhibitors

Plant tissue cultures growing in rows of glass bottles1

Built for the term-sheet conversation

SynBioBeta pitches its booths as the place where introductions turn into term sheets and licensing deals, and 47 percent of attendees are startups and investors. We give your booth a small standing table and a screen that shows the one result an investor asks about, so the talk moves from the aisle to a seat.

Automated laboratory analyzer loaded with racks of sample tubes2

Make the Startup Pavilion table work

The $5,750 Startup Pavilion package is a high-boy table with two stools, one pass and badge scanning, not a walled booth. We make a tabletop kit for it: a printed counter wrap, a compact backlit sign and a tablet stand that packs in one case for San Jose.

Two scientists working with green plants at a laboratory bench3

Six themes, one booth story

SynBioBeta 2027 splits its program into six themes, from AIxBio to BioDefense & Biosecurity. We write the booth headline to the theme your buyers attend, so a visitor leaving a BioSolutions session sees a fermentation or materials story, not a generic platform slogan.

Female scientist looking through a microscope in a laboratory4

Posters and cocktail hours count

Every SynBioBeta booth package includes poster session participation and the Tuesday and Wednesday cocktail hours. We print a poster that matches the booth graphics and plan lighting that still reads in the evening, when investors walk the floor with a drink in hand.

Where you could be at SynBioBeta 2027

SynBioBeta sells numbered booths from a live floor plan that also shows a Startup Pavilion and an AI Pavilion Table. The San Jose McEnery Convention Center's exhibit halls total 143,000 square feet.

A

Startup Pavilion

High-boy tables with two stools for early-stage companies at $5,750, including one pass, badge scanning and poster session participation.

Our advice A table needs height to be seen, so we add a slim backlit sign on the tabletop and keep the counter wrap readable from 15 feet.

B

Booth rows, 10×10 to 20×20

Booths come with pipe and drape, a 6-foot table, chairs, basic signage and an outlet; the floor plan marks sold booths and shows a handful of 20×20s.

Our advice Pick a corner or a spot near the receptions if you can; we then turn the booth's open sides toward the busiest aisle.

C

San Jose McEnery exhibit halls

143,000 square feet of exhibit space that opens to 165,000 contiguous square feet and holds up to 1,000 10×10 booths when full.

Our advice SynBioBeta uses a fraction of that, so the floor feels intimate; we design graphics for close viewing rather than across a vast hall.

SynBioBeta exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before SynBioBeta

How much does a booth at SynBioBeta 2027 cost?

SynBioBeta prices its own packages: $5,750 for a Startup Pavilion table, $8,000 for a 10×10, $13,800 for a 10×20 and $19,550 for a 20×20, each with passes. Our build is separate: a 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000, and a custom 20×20 from $50,000. Demo hardware and lighting for the evening receptions move our number.

What is the deadline to book SynBioBeta 2027?

SynBioBeta's advance discount on passes ends at midnight Thursday, December 31, 2026, which matters because extra staff passes come on top of the booth package. Booths sell from the live floor plan until they are gone, and the 20×20s are nearly taken. Your sign-off on our design should land by late February 2027.

Can we rent a booth for SynBioBeta, and what does a rental include?

We rent SynBioBeta kits for a 10×20 or 20×20: frame, fabric graphics, LED lighting, a counter with lockable storage and a monitor mount, plus freight, install and dismantle on one fixed proposal. The pipe and drape, table and chairs in SynBioBeta's package stay with the hall, and our rental goes back to our warehouse afterwards.

What comes with a SynBioBeta booth package?

The 10×10, 10×20 and 20×20 packages include two, three or four conference passes, an electrical outlet, badge scanning with custom survey questions, a 6-foot table and chairs, basic signage, pipe and drape, poster session participation, an app landing page and the Tuesday and Wednesday cocktail hours. Extra Startup Pavilion passes cost $595.

We are an early-stage startup. What is the cheapest way to exhibit?

The Startup Pavilion package at $5,750: a high-boy table with two stools, one pass, badge scanning, poster session participation and the cocktail hours. Early Stage Startup passes are $1,395 at the advance rate. We build a one-case tabletop kit for the pavilion so your brand reads from the aisle.

Can we reuse our SynBioBeta booth at other shows?

We design SynBioBeta booths so the walls and counter also fit Bio-IT World in Boston, SLAS in San Diego or the BIO International Convention in Philadelphia, with new graphics for each audience. Between meetings the kit is crated in our warehouse, and the pavilion tabletop kit packs into one case your team can carry.

Who handles freight and installation at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center?

The 2027 general contractor, drayage rates and move-in hours are not confirmed yet. We price freight from our Las Vegas hub by truck, place the contractor orders once the exhibitor kit opens, and our project manager leads the San Jose install alongside vetted local labor.

Can we host investor meetings or a reception at SynBioBeta?

Beyond booths, SynBioBeta sells private meeting rooms, networking pods, investor luncheons, founder meetups, partner and VIP lounges and welcome receptions through its 2027 sponsorship packages. We design and furnish the room or lounge you buy, matching the graphics in your booth.

When is SynBioBeta 2027?

SynBioBeta 2027 runs Monday, May 3 to Thursday, May 6, 2027 in San Jose, California. The exhibit hall hours for 2027 are not confirmed yet; the booth packages include cocktail hours on the Tuesday and Wednesday.

Where is SynBioBeta 2027 held?

SynBioBeta lists the San Jose Convention Center, whose full name is the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, in downtown San Jose. The building has 143,000 square feet of exhibit halls that open to 165,000 square feet of contiguous space.

How many people attend SynBioBeta?

SynBioBeta reports 1,970-plus attendees, 170-plus speakers and more than 5,970 one-to-one meetings at SynBioBeta 2025, with people from 20-plus countries. Its 2027 sponsor page cites 2,200-plus attendees, 74 percent of them decision-makers.

Who organizes SynBioBeta?

SynBioBeta, the synthetic biology media and events company that also publishes industry news, a podcast and a job board, organizes the conference. Booths are sold through its Pick Your Booth floor plan, and sponsorships through its sales team and prospectus.

Is SynBioBeta worth exhibiting at?

For synthetic biology, biomanufacturing and AI-for-biology companies chasing partners and capital, it is a strong fit: SynBioBeta reports that 74 percent of its attendees are decision-makers and 47 percent are startups and investors. The floor is compact, so a well-staffed 10×20 with a meeting seat can hold its own next to larger sponsors.

What are the SynBioBeta 2027 exhibit hall hours?

The 2027 exhibit hall hours are not confirmed yet. What SynBioBeta does publish is that every booth package includes the Tuesday and Wednesday cocktail hours, so we light and staff your booth for the evening floor as well as the daytime sessions.

Before you sign for SynBioBeta

Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for SynBioBeta:

  1. Will the proposal show every SynBioBeta fee, including show contractor charges?
  2. Who actually builds it for SynBioBeta: your shop or a subcontractor?
  3. Will your project manager be on the floor at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center for install and dismantle?
  4. For SynBioBeta, what is in the rental and what is billed by the show?
  5. Where does the booth go after SynBioBeta, and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? Bring it: we refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it at SynBioBeta and store it until the next show. You keep the structure you paid for and bring it to SynBioBeta.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager on your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A SynBioBeta rental carrying your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic before SynBioBeta.
