What makes Pittcon different, and how we build for it
Pittcon is the exposition where the people who actually run the samples walk the aisles. More than 6,000 attendees, 70 percent of them decision makers, come for the Technical Program and Short Courses across tracks like Bioanalytical & Life Sciences, Environmental & Energy, Pharmaceuticals & Biologics and AI & Data Analytics, then spend expo hours comparing instruments on the floor. The Wallace H. Coulter Lecture opens the week and the Best in Show awards put new instruments in front of the whole hall. In 2027 the show returns to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. A booth that lets a chemist follow one sample from prep to result wins the technical conversation.
A clear view of the complete sample path: one representative container beside a simple prep, measure, output sequence, with the operator able to open panels and swap a sample while they watch.
A planning sheet that separates instrument footprint from working envelope, accessories and utility connections, and a drawing surface where a specialist can talk through their existing lab layout.
Software on its own screen with a labeled demonstration dataset, showing how a result is checked, exported and connected to the next task without stopping the physical demo.
Purple in Pittsburgh
Local crew, national shop
Purple builds in Fishkill, NY and Las Vegas, NV, ships to every hall in the United States and installs on site with our own project manager and local labor. For Pittsburgh we book freight targets, coordinate the general contractor and run a pre-show QA so your team can just show up.
Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA. Your booth ships from our production shop in Fishkill, NY or our Las Vegas hub, and our project manager is on the floor for install and dismantle.

Booth options for Pittcon 2027
Pick a footprint. We’ll price it as a rental, a custom build, or a hybrid.
Pittcon sells standard 10×10 space at $4,000 and 10×20 at $8,000, so the floor is mostly inline booths in long rows, broken up by islands from the major instrument makers. Most Purple clients here choose a 10×20 with one working bench or a 20×20 island that separates the live demo from a technical meeting table.

One benchtop instrument on a shallow demo counter, the application story on the back wall and literature in drawers.

A complete workflow in sequence: sample prep, the working instrument and a results screen, with a consultation stool at one end.
See 10×20 rental booths →
An island with two demo stations, a separate software screen, a technical meeting table and hidden storage under a hanging sign.
See 20×20 rental booths →
A portfolio of application families, an automation or sample-handling line with moving assemblies, a private meeting room and central storage.
See 20×30 rental booths →All-in 2026 ranges for design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle; booth space, drayage and show services are separate. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show. Designing for laboratory instrument and analytical science companies at Pittcon
Four things we get right for Pittcon exhibitors

Build the bench around the real instrument
Send us the instrument's dimensions, weight, operator position and cable runs before we draw cabinetry. We size the counter so a specialist can open panels and swap a sample without stepping into the aisle, and we test the instrument and screen together on a temporary bench before production starts.

Follow one sample to a result
Choose one representative workflow and let it set the route: sample entry at the aisle, the working instrument inside, results on a screen beside it. The same identifier appears on the vial, the instrument display and the result screen, so a visitor who joins midway still understands the sequence.
Give software its own screen
A data conversation should not stop the physical demo. We give software a separate screen and input device with a labeled demonstration dataset, and we test glare, viewing distance and caption size from where three or four scientists will actually stand around the specialist.
Serviceable cabinetry and a repeatable reset
Removable panels sit around every connection your staff will need to reach, and cables and accessories are labeled against the bench drawing. Fresh samples, used material and spare parts each get their own storage, so the display resets between visitors without dismantling the front.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this
You see the booth in 3D before we cut a single panel: layout, graphics, lighting and product positions, revised until it is right.

Logistics for Pittcon 2027, handled
The David L. Lawrence Convention Center sits at 1000 Fort Duquesne Boulevard in downtown Pittsburgh, with the hotel district a short walk from the halls. Electrical, plumbing, compressed air, internet, cleaning and security are ordered through the venue's online exhibitor services portal, and analytical instruments usually need several of them, so we list every utility per instrument on the drawing and place the orders. We read the Pittcon exhibitor kit, book your freight targets with the show contractor, ship the booth to the advance warehouse, and our project manager runs the install with local labor and a pre-show QA so your team walks in to a working bench before the hall opens at 10 AM on April 26.

- Freight targets, advance warehouse and drayage paperwork
- Power, compressed air, water and internet orders on the DLCC portal

Pittcon exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before Pittcon
How much does a 20×20 at Pittcon cost?
A 20×20 custom island for Pittcon runs $50,000 to $120,000 all in for design, structure, graphics and installation; a 20×20 rental island lands between $16,000 and $40,000. A 10×20 inline with one working bench starts around $7,500 as a rental and $15,000 custom. Send your instrument list and we return a fixed quote.
Can you install at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center?
Yes. Purple builds in Fishkill, NY and Las Vegas, ships to the DLCC and installs with our own project manager and local labor. We order power, compressed air, water and internet through the venue portal, position each instrument to your drawing and run a pre-show QA before your team arrives.
Can we rent a booth for Pittcon?
Yes. Rental structures with your graphics start at $3,500 for a 10×10 and $7,500 for a 10×20. Many first-time Pittcon exhibitors rent the walls and counters and put the custom money into one serviceable demo bench, then reuse that bench at ADLM or the next show on the calendar.
When do we need to decide?
Design sign-off by mid-February 2027 gives a comfortable 30 to 45 day build, a bench test with your real instrument and an early April ship date. We can move faster; the trade-off is finish choices and freight cost. Booth space through the Pittcon exhibitor portal comes first, since footprint drives everything else.
Do you handle exhibitor orders, drayage and utilities?
We read the Pittcon exhibitor kit, file every booth-related form, book freight targets with the show contractor, handle the drayage paperwork and place the utility orders on the DLCC portal. You get copied on each deadline, and instruments that travel separately get their own labels and receiving plan.
