What makes Toy Fair New York different, and how we build for it
Toy Fair's tie to the Javits Center goes back to the building's opening in 1986, and The Toy Association has now locked in four-day, Saturday-to-Tuesday dates there through 2032.It is a buying show first: in 2026 all top 25 U.S. toy retailers came, with buyers from all 50 states and 68 countries and territories. For 2027 the Association rebuilt Level 1 around Central PLAYce, a greenery-themed networking hub beside the Launch Pad startup community, Toy Fair University and the Student Showcase. The Toy of the Year Awards open the week at Pier Sixty the night before doors open, and the show stays trade-only, closed to anyone under 18 except approved Kid Demonstrators.
Next year's line laid out by price point and age grade, samples they can handle, and a seated corner to talk launch windows, case packs and exclusives before their next appointment down the aisle.
Proof your product can carry a property: finished packaging, a clear category story and a quiet table away from the demo noise for a licensing conversation.
Something worth filming in ten seconds, a spokesperson on call, and a clear rule on what may be photographed, since Toy Fair bans shooting a booth without the exhibitor's permission.

Inside Toy Fair New York 2027
Toy Fair New York rules that shape your booth
Toy Fair is closed to consumers and to anyone under 18, except children aged 5 to 17 approved as Press (Content Creator) or as Kid Demonstrators inside an exhibitor's booth; infants are not permitted. We build demo tables for an approved child, not for walk-up families.
Photographing an exhibitor's booth is prohibited without that exhibitor's permission. For brands with unreleased lines, we add a closed room and a clear line between the product you are happy to see filmed and the line you show only to buyers.
Unauthorized solicitation by non-exhibitors is prohibited, and non-exhibiting manufacturers pay $3,900 per person to attend, or $500 per person for members after two free badges. A tabletop or booth is the only way to show product at Toy Fair.
Toy Fair badges are picked up onsite at the Javits, never mailed, and badge sharing can bring a permanent ban. We register the union install crew through the exhibitor channels so every person working your booth carries the right credential.
Programs worth planning for

New for 2027 at the center of Level 1: a greenery-themed hub with lounges, interactive activations, daily food and drink and networking sessions, with new sponsorship and branding options for exhibitors.
The Toy Foundation's awards in 17 categories; finalists are announced November 7, 2026, voting runs into early January, and winners are named at Pier Sixty on February 19, 2027.
Daily education sessions with industry experts and business insights, moving to Level 1 for 2027 beside Central PLAYce and the Student Showcase.

Case study · Jack & Pup
Jack & Pup at a pet industry trade show
A booth shaped as a full dog house, instantly understood, easy to step inside and busy all show long.
Jack & Pup sells pet products, not toys, but its dog-house booth solved Toy Fair's problem: a product idea people understand at a glance and want to step into.
Read the Jack & Pup case study All case studies →“Purple Exhibits made us look good. The booth was one of the nicest displays in our section of the convention center and generated a lot of positive comments from both customers and industry peers. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond made a huge difference.”

04 Designing for toy, game, hobby, youth entertainment and licensed product companies at Toy Fair New York
Four things we get right for Toy Fair New York exhibitors
1A showroom inside the booth
Buyers from the top 25 U.S. toy retailers walk the Javits on a tight appointment grid. We build a closed room with a door, a sample wall and a table for six, so next year's line and exclusives stay out of view of the aisle and of the 1,000+ journalists on the floor.
2Play zones sized for Kid Demonstrators
Toy Fair admits children aged 5 to 17 only as approved Kid Demonstrators inside an exhibitor's booth. When you book one, we design a low demo table and a clear floor area at the front, so a buyer watches a real child play without the crowd spilling into the aisle.
3Graphics that sort by age grade
A toy buyer reads a booth in seconds: ages 3+, 8+, collector. We print the back wall in bands by age and price point, light each shelf row on its own, and keep product, not lifestyle photos, at eye level so the line reads from across Toy Fair's aisles.
4Built for the Launch Pad move-up
Launch Pad gives first-time exhibitors and companies new to the U.S. market their own Level 1 area. For a brand graduating from it, we design a 10×20 kit that reuses the same graphics files, so the second year at the Javits looks like growth, not a restart.
Floor at a glance
Where you could be at Toy Fair New York 2027
Toy Fair fills the Javits Center, whose exhibit halls sit on two levels with docks split between them. The Toy Association has published the 2027 plan for Level 1; booth numbers come from the Map Your Show floor plan.
Level 1, Central PLAYce and Launch Pad
New for 2027: Central PLAYce sits at the center of Level 1 with lounges, daily food and drink and programming, beside Launch Pad, Toy Fair University and the Student Showcase.
Our advice Level 1 halls have lower clear heights than Level 3 and direct dock access, so we keep structure modest and get freight in faster.
Level 3 exhibition halls (3A, 3B, 3D, 3E)
The building's main exhibit level: roughly 500,000 contiguous square feet, columns set 90 feet apart, and a space frame overhead whose fixed nodes carry every rigged sign.
Our advice Islands and hanging signs are routine on Level 3; we place your sign on the rigging point map before the design is final.
Truck marshaling facility
Trucks queue indoors at the four-level marshaling facility and go to a dock only when called.
Our advice Our crates carry the Toy Fair name, your hall and your booth number on every face, so the dock call sends them to the right level the first time.
05 Javits Center · New York
Logistics for Toy Fair New York 2027, handled
The Javits is one of the most expensive floors in the country to move freight on: Purple's planning figure is about $195 per hundredweight for 2026 and 2027, with a 200-pound minimum. Every truck queues inside the building until the dock calls it. Exhibitor staff may set up a display of 250 square feet or less without tools; anything more is union carpenter work, with Teamsters on freight, electricians on power and riggers on hanging signs. We build light aluminum frames in Fishkill, NY, 70 miles up the Hudson, and our project manager runs the labor on the floor.
Toy Fair New York exhibitors can find this building's hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines in our Javits Center exhibitor guide.

Toy Fair New York exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before Toy Fair New York
When is Toy Fair 2027?
Toy Fair 2027 runs Saturday, February 20 to Tuesday, February 23, 2027. It is the 121st Toy Fair, and The Toy Association has published Saturday-to-Tuesday dates at the Javits Center through 2032, with 2028 set for February 26 to 29.
Where is Toy Fair New York 2027 held?
At the Javits Center beside Hudson Yards, Toy Fair's home since the building opened in 1986. The 34 St–Hudson Yards station on the 7 train is a block east of the building, and Level 1 holds Launch Pad, Central PLAYce and Toy Fair University in 2027.
How much does a booth at Toy Fair New York 2027 cost?
Space is $40 per square foot, so a 10×20 is $8,000 before the member discount of up to $11 per square foot. Add the booth itself: a 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000 and a 20×20 custom island $50,000 to $120,000. Javits labor and drayage move the total more than at most venues.
What are the Toy Fair 2027 show hours?
The floor opens 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, then from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday through Monday, with a 4 p.m. close on Tuesday, February 23. We plan staff shifts around the Saturday opening, when buyer traffic arrives with the press.
Is Toy Fair open to the public?
It is a trade-only event, and consumers are not eligible to attend. Nobody under 18 is admitted, except children aged 5 to 17 approved by The Toy Association as Press (Content Creator) or as Kid Demonstrators within an exhibitor's booth. Badges are picked up at the Javits and may not be shared.
How many buyers attend Toy Fair?
Thousands of buyers came to Toy Fair 2026, The Toy Association reports, from all 50 states and 68 countries and territories, including every one of the top 25 U.S. toy retailers. More than 720 companies exhibited and over 1,000 journalists registered, so a booth needs room for both buyer meetings and filming.
Who organizes Toy Fair?
The Toy Association, the U.S. trade group for toy and play companies, runs Toy Fair and also produces LA Spring Preview and LA Fall Preview at its Toy Building in El Segundo. Its charity arm, The Toy Foundation, holds the Toy of the Year Awards the night before Toy Fair opens.
How do we get a booth at Toy Fair 2027?
Returning exhibitors book through The Toy Association's Map Your Show portal, and new companies apply through the first-time exhibitor page, where general applications for 2027 are open. A separate account executive handles new companies A to M and N to Z. Newcomers choose the $4,000 First Time Exhibiting package, a 10×10 with a one-year membership, or raw space.
What is Launch Pad at Toy Fair?
Launch Pad is Toy Fair's dedicated area for first-time exhibitors and companies new to the U.S. market, part of the startup community on Level 1. Each company gets a dedicated account executive before, during and after the show. In 2027 it sits beside the new Central PLAYce hub.
What is the deadline to book a booth for Toy Fair 2027?
An exhibitor space deadline for 2027 is not confirmed yet, and booths are assigned from the live floor plan as applications come in. Trade guest and non-exhibiting company fees become non-refundable after January 31, 2027. A custom Toy Fair build needs your approval of the design in early December 2026, roughly ten weeks out.
Can we rent a booth for Toy Fair, and what does a rental include?
We rent Toy Fair booths from a 10×20 inline to islands: aluminum frame, fabric graphics printed for your line, shelves sized to your packaging, LED lighting, a play table and a lockable storage closet. Freight, Javits labor and dismantle are priced together on a fixed proposal, and the kit returns to Fishkill after Tuesday.
Can our own staff set up our booth at the Javits Center?
Only within tight limits: a display of 250 square feet or less, set up by full-time employees of your company, without tools or ladders. Anything larger is union carpenter work, freight belongs to the Teamsters and lit signs to the electricians. We supervise that crew for you and sign the labor tickets.
What does drayage cost at Toy Fair?
Drayage at the Javits is billed by weight through the show's contractor; Purple plans on about $195 per hundredweight for 2026 and 2027, with a 200-pound minimum, plus a surcharge of a quarter to a third for late or uncrated crates. A lighter aluminum build is the cheapest saving we can give you.
Can we bring children to demo our toys in the booth?
Only as approved Kid Demonstrators: The Toy Association admits children aged 5 to 17 in that role within an exhibitor's booth, and infants are not permitted. We design the demo table and floor space around the child, and keep the play area inside your booth line.
