What makes Tucson Gem and Mineral Show different, and how we build for it
The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show is run by a nonprofit club, the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, founded in 1946, and has held international stature since the 1970s, per TGMS.Its 72nd edition, themed Minerals as Art: The Art of Minerals, fills the Tucson Convention Center with retail mineral, fossil, gem and publishing dealers in the Exhibition Hall and Ballroom, and museum and educational exhibitors in the Galleria. Special and guest exhibits have shown the Logan Sapphire and the Alma Rose rhodochrosite, and the week adds the Arthur Roe Memorial Micromount Symposium, the FM-TGMS-MSA Symposium and a school program for Arizona students. It is open to the public at $15.
Labeled, priced specimens with locality, well-lit cases at eye level and a dealer who can talk provenance after admiring the museum exhibits.
Material worth a museum label, publications and contacts for future guest exhibits, often found between symposium sessions.
Low-cost or free educational pieces on Friday morning, when TGMS opens at 9 a.m. for students before the public arrives.

Built in two shops, run by one project manager
We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the Tucson Convention Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Turnaround is a predictable 30 to 45 days, with pre-show QA and secure storage for your Tucson Gem and Mineral Show booth.
The booth is lit and stocked when your team reaches the Tucson Convention Center. You just show up.

Tucson Gem and Mineral Show rules that shape your booth
Booths come with 8-foot back drape and 3-foot side drape in TGMS dove and cream, and the back drape may not be covered by panels, pop-ups or custom displays without Show Committee approval. We put your brand into cases and approved banners instead.
All extra equipment and all labor moving booth material go through Arizona Cine Equipment; only sanctioned fiber optic and LED case vendors are allowed, delivered through Arizona Cine. We route our cases through that channel and file the approvals.
Lights must be manufactured and UL approved, back-table lights stay under the 8-foot drape on their own slender stanchions, and homemade stanchions need committee approval by photo. We spec fixtures that meet each line and send the photos.
Each dealer category carries at least 80% of its core goods, every item is labeled and priced, and clothing, candy, posters, laser pointers and animal skins are banned. We design case labels and price rails to the category you contract.
Dealers hold $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate liability cover naming TGMS; the dealer terms ask for the certificate by November 27, 2026, and the dealer information page by December 31, 2026. We send it with the booth payment so case delivery is not held up on Wednesday.
Programs worth planning for
Collectors and institutions can place competitive or guest exhibits in TGMS display cases of 30, 48 or 66 inches, under the Competitive Exhibitor Handbook, alongside the special museum exhibits.
Sponsorship forms that fund a Spotlight Case for the special exhibits or endow a TGMS exhibit case, giving a dealer or collector a named link to the show's museum displays.
Dealers list what they carry so the Information Booth can send visitors asking for geodes or fossils to the right booth; the 2027 deadline is December 11, 2026.
Lectures Thursday to Saturday in the meeting rooms, the Arthur Roe Memorial Micromount Symposium on Friday, February 12, 2027 and the FM-TGMS-MSA Symposium on the show's Saturday.

Popular booth sizes at Tucson Gem and Mineral Show
TGMS assigns retail dealers booth lengths from 10 to 80 feet, each with 8-foot back drape, 3-foot side drape, skirted tables and a TGMS sign in the show's dove-and-cream colors. Exhibit systems over the drape need Show Committee approval, so we focus on cases, case lighting and approved signs.

Case study · French Avenue
French Avenue at a fragrance and beauty trade show
A premium fragrance environment built around discovery, with a flow designed for real conversations and product sampling.
French Avenue's stand invited people to discover one product at a time; at TGMS the same idea lives inside a glass case, where one lit specimen has to start the conversation.

04 Designing for retail mineral, fossil, gem, lapidary and jewelry dealers, publishers and earth-science educators at Tucson Gem and Mineral Show
Four things we get right for Tucson Gem and Mineral Show exhibitors
1The case is the booth
TGMS keeps every booth in dove-and-cream drape with its own signs, and nothing may rise above the 8-foot back drape. A collector judges you by the cases, so we build or upgrade dealer-owned vitrines with clean glass, locking doors and low-glare LED, delivered through the show's approved case contractor.
2Light on its own stanchion
Back-table lights must stay under the 8-foot drape, be manufactured and UL approved, and stand on their own slender stanchion; any lighting frame comes from Arizona Cine Equipment. We specify fixtures and stanchions that pass, and send photos to the Show Committee for approval.
3Get the sign approved early
Only the TGMS-provided sign may hang in front of the back drape; any other banner needs written permission, with a photo submitted before the show, even if it was used before. We print your banner to the approved design and handle the submission.
Built for locality labels
Collectors at TGMS read the label before the price. We add ledge strips for locality and specimen cards inside each case, and a lit spotlight shelf for the piece you want the Minerals as Art crowd to talk about.

Concept rendering
A rendering like this comes with every proposal

Where you could be at Tucson Gem and Mineral Show 2027
TGMS places dealers and exhibitors by type across the Tucson Convention Center. The hall decides your neighbors and, for educators, your booth package.
Exhibition Hall and Ballroom
Retail dealers in mineral, fossil, general retail and publishing share both rooms, each booth in dove-and-cream drape with a TGMS sign.
Our advice Every booth looks alike from the aisle, so lit cases at the front edge carry your identity.
Galleria
Educational exhibitors in 10-foot-deep booths from 10 to 30 feet long, the Junior Education area and the MicroMineral Room.
Our advice Nonprofits exhibit at no cost; a printed backdrop approved by TGMS and a table display carry the message.
Secure Area storeroom
A free, optional overnight storeroom between the Arena and the Exhibition Hall, with a security officer at check-in and check-out and items limited to a 3 by 3 foot space.
Our advice We size travel cases for your best specimens to fit the 3-by-3-foot limit.

Tucson Gem and Mineral Show exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before Tucson Gem and Mineral Show
When is the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show 2027?
The 72nd Tucson Gem and Mineral Show runs Thursday, February 11 to Sunday, February 14, 2027 at the Tucson Convention Center. Doors open to the public at 10 each morning, closing at 5 from Thursday to Saturday and an hour earlier on Sunday. The 2027 theme is Minerals as Art: The Art of Minerals.
Where is the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show held?
TGMS takes over the downtown Tucson Convention Center on South Church Avenue. Retail dealers share the Exhibition Hall and Ballroom, educational exhibitors and the Junior Education area sit in the Galleria, and lectures run in the convention center's meeting rooms.
How much are tickets to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show?
Admission is $15, which includes a $1 TCC ticket tax, and children 14 and under enter free with a paying adult. A 2-day ticket costs $26, and on Friday, February 12, 2027 active and retired military and seniors 62 and over get $2 off. Tickets are sold at the door and the TCC box office.
Is the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show the same as the Tucson Gem Show?
Visit Tucson's showcase runs January 27 to February 14, 2027 with dozens of independent shows across the city. The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show is one of them, the nonprofit TGMS event at the convention center, and it closes the season. AGTA, GJX, JOGS and G&LW are separate shows with separate owners.
How do I become a dealer at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show?
TGMS takes requests to participate as a Retail Dealer in the mineral, fossil, general retail or publisher categories, or as an Educational Exhibitor for government and nonprofit groups. Space is assigned by TGMS, and booth payment for 2027 is due online by November 27, 2026.
What can dealers sell at TGMS?
Stock must relate to the mineral, gem, lapidary, fossil and jewelry trades: a Mineral Retail Dealer carries at least 80% mineral specimens, a General Retail Dealer at least 80% gem, lapidary and jewelry items. Clothing, candy, posters, laser pointers and animal skins are banned, and every item must be labeled and priced.
Can we bring our own booth display to TGMS?
Booths use TGMS drape in dove and cream, and the back drape may not be covered by panels, pop-ups or custom displays without Show Committee approval. Fiber optic and LED cases can come from sanctioned vendors, and dealer-owned cases are delivered through Arizona Cine Equipment and Tucson Store Fixtures.
What lighting is allowed at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show?
Lights must be manufactured and UL approved. Front and side table lights are slip-on, swing-arm or on posts below the back drape, and back-table lights may not exceed the 8-foot drape, each on its own stanchion. Lighting frames come only from Arizona Cine Equipment.
When is dealer setup for TGMS 2027?
Dealers register Tuesday, February 9, 2027, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the east Galleria, then move in and set up Wednesday, February 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Strike runs Sunday, February 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Helper badges cover setup and strike only.
Does TGMS provide overnight security?
TGMS provides general premises security and a free, optional Secure Area storeroom between the Arena and the Exhibition Hall, with a security officer present at check-in and check-out. Items must fit a 3 by 3 foot space and are not insured by TGMS; valuables left in the booth overnight stay covered and at the dealer's risk.
What insurance and licenses do TGMS dealers need?
Dealers carry liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate naming TGMS, with the certificate due with booth payment by November 27, 2026 under the dealer terms (the dealer information page gives December 31, 2026); TGMS arranges TotalEvent cover for $75. A City of Tucson Dealer Trade Show License and an Arizona TPT license are required, and combined sales tax is 8.7%.
How many people visit the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show?
TGMS does not publish a total gate figure. It invites about 2,000 Arizona school students on Friday morning, and over 2,000 children visit the Junior Education area. Visit Tucson's 2025 study counted 113,342 buyers across the whole showcase, not this show alone.
Can Purple build our TGMS booth?
TGMS is a drape-and-table show, so we do not build structures there. We build dealer-owned display cases, UL lighting on approved stanchions and Show Committee-approved banners, route case delivery through Arizona Cine Equipment and Tucson Store Fixtures, and store everything between seasons.
