We build ADLM booths where a lab director can watch the analyzer run from the aisle and then sit down to compare throughput data. At McCormick Place we file your island plans through the ADLM Exhibitor Hub by February 15 and route crates through Freeman's advance warehouse.

What makes ADLM different, and how we build for it
ADLM, the society once known as AACC, runs its Clinical Lab Expo as the commercial half of a scientific meeting, and the floor shows it.Industry Workshops fill the Exhibit Hall Theater in hour-long slots, the Lecture Series runs short talks on diagnostic technology, Poster Abstracts sit on the expo floor, and the Disruptive Tech Zone holds the finalists of the Disruptive Technology Award, won in 2026 by Kompass Diagnostics. Spargo, ADLM's exhibition management contractor, enforces Healthcare Convention Exhibitors Association booth rules and a See-through Rule on islands. Exhibitor meeting rooms sell at the same $54 per square foot as inline space, so a private room for contract talks costs no more per foot than the booth.
The analyzer or assay panel in plain view, a regulatory-status label they can trust, and a seated table where throughput, menu breadth and validation data can be compared without the aisle listening.
Sample-to-result workflow shown on the real instrument, consumables and reagent loading, footprint and service clearances, and a specialist who answers bench questions without a script.
A private meeting room or enclosed corner for supply, licensing and distribution talks, plus a product wall that maps the whole portfolio by testing area.

Two shops behind your ADLM booth
For ADLM, we build in our own shop in Fishkill, NY, and at our Las Vegas hub, ship to McCormick Place, and put our own project manager on the floor with vetted local labor for the install. Expect a 30–45-day build for ADLM, secure storage and a pre-show QA.
When your team gets to Chicago, the booth is lit and stocked. You just show up.
Inside ADLM 2027
ADLM rules that shape your booth
Islands keep at least 50 percent of each side visibly open, frosted surfaces count as closed, structures stop at 16 feet and signs at 20 feet with no variances (2027 rules). We draw the walls to that ratio before plans go in.
ADLM lists onsite sample collection and testing among prohibited items, and all fluids, reagents and cell-cultured materials must leave the hall at the Thursday close (2027 rules). We plan demos on controls and recorded runs.
Products not cleared or approved in the U.S., or still under FDA review, need signage that states their regulatory status, and ADLM may order a misleading display removed (2027 rules). We print that status on each plinth and graphic.
Giveaways and prizes stay under $100 under the AdvaMed Code of Ethics, winners are notified after the meeting, and requests go in by June 4, 2027 (2027 rules). We design the giveaway counter once ADLM approves the item.
Scientific and educational presentations and CME activities are barred from the exhibit hall, while product presentations are allowed inside your own booth (2027 rules). We size a presentation corner so the audience stays within your lines.
Programs worth planning for
Hour-long exhibitor presentations in the Exhibit Hall Theater or a headquarter-hotel room, open only to exhibitors with contracted space; topics and speakers are due for ADLM approval by May 1, 2027.

Popular booth sizes at ADLM
ADLM sells inline booths of 10×10, 10×20 and 10×30, islands of 400 square feet and up, and exhibitor meeting rooms at the inline rate. We plan a 10×20 or 10×30 for an assay or software line, and a 20×20 island once a running analyzer and a seated meeting table share the booth.
One benchtop analyzer or a cartridge reader on a counter in the back half, kept under ADLM's 4-foot front limit, with an 8-foot back wall carrying the test menu.

Four things we get right for ADLM exhibitors
1Half of every island side open
ADLM's See-through Rule keeps at least 50 percent of each island side visibly open, frosted panels count as closed, and structures stop at 16 feet. We place analyzers as the open elements of the wall and put the meeting room on the side that faces the fewest aisles.
2Inline fronts stay at four feet
ADLM follows the Healthcare Convention Exhibitors Association standard: nothing taller than 4 feet within 5 feet of the aisle, an 8-foot back wall (12 on the perimeter) and monitors no more than 5 feet off the back wall. Benchtop analyzers go on counters in the back half.
3Label the instrument's FDA status
ADLM requires signage that states the regulatory status of any product not cleared or approved in the U.S. or still under FDA review, and bans onsite sample collection and testing. We build the status line into each instrument plinth and run demos on prepared data and controls.
4Keep demo crowds inside your lines
ADLM bans perimeter demonstrations facing the aisles, aisle queues and amplified audio above 75 decibels, and forbids speakers or video terminals in booth corners. We set demo screens a few feet inside the booth with standing room in front, and aim sound inward.

Industry Workshops run here in hour-long slots from 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday (2027 rules).
Our advice A booth near the theater catches the crowd leaving each workshop, so we keep your front open and the demo screen angled toward that exit.

Logistics for ADLM 2027, handled
Freeman is ADLM's general services contractor at McCormick Place, and every shipment goes through Freeman: its advance warehouse opens 30 days before the first move-in day, each exhibitor gets a target delivery slot, and ADLM asks for four hours between that slot and installation. Since the 2010 MPEA reforms your own employees can build the booth, yet dock-to-booth freight is still Teamster drayage, planned at roughly $210 a hundredweight. Booths must be show-ready by 2 p.m. on Monday, July 26, installation is banned on opening Tuesday, and crates come back 6 to 8 hours after the Thursday noon close. Our own project manager runs the ADLM install with vetted local hands.

Questions exhibitors ask us before ADLM
How much does a booth at ADLM 2027 cost?
For a running analyzer, plan a 20×20 custom island at $50,000 to $120,000; an assay or software firm in a 10×20 rental spends $7,500 to $15,000 with us. Instrument plinths, a closed meeting room and drayage on heavy crates move the number. ADLM bills space on top: $54 per square foot inline and $62 per square foot island for 2027.
What is the deadline for island booth plans at ADLM 2027?
February 15, 2027. ADLM wants vector PDF plans for any island of 400 square feet or more, with every structure, hanging sign and rigging point, through the ADLM Exhibitor Hub. ADLM forwards them to the Fire Marshal by March 31, and final stamped plans are due June 4, so we need your sign-off in early February.
Can we rent a booth for ADLM, and what does a rental include?
A Purple rental for ADLM covers the frame, fabric graphics, LED lighting, counters cut to ADLM's 4-foot front rule, lockable storage and flooring, which ADLM requires over every booth, and we quote freight, install and dismantle together on a fixed proposal. Instrument plinths can be built custom and set into the rental frame.
Can exhibitors set up their own booth at McCormick Place for ADLM?
Since the 2010 MPEA reforms, full-time employees of your company may assemble the booth and use tools. Freight from the dock is still Teamster drayage through Freeman, and an outside builder must be registered on ADLM's Exhibitor-Appointed Contractor form with insurance by June 4, 2027, which we file for you.
Can we hand out giveaways or serve food in our ADLM booth?
With approval. ADLM caps giveaways and raffle prizes below $100 under the AdvaMed Code, bans items such as t-shirts, toys, stress balls and popcorn, and wants the Giveaway Request Form by June 4, 2027. Food comes only from the McCormick Place caterer, and any booth serving it must order Freeman porter service.
How much is drayage at McCormick Place for ADLM?
You pay it, by weight, through Freeman. Our McCormick Place planning figure is roughly $210 a hundredweight, 200 pounds minimum, and freight that arrives late, off its slot or uncrated costs a quarter to a third more. ADLM's own tariff arrives in the Exhibitor Service Manual in April 2027, and we price heavy analyzer crates as a separate line.
Can we run private demos outside ADLM expo hours?
ADLM approves off-hour demonstrations on the floor at set times: 8 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28 and Thursday, July 29, and 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 28. You hire security, send the guest list by July 16, and file the request at least two weeks before move-in.
When is ADLM 2027?
ADLM 2027 runs Sunday, July 25 to Thursday, July 29, 2027 in Chicago. ADLM has also set later meetings: July 23–27, 2028 in Chicago, July 22–26, 2029 in Anaheim and July 28 to August 1, 2030 back in Chicago.
What are the ADLM 2027 exhibit hall hours?
The Clinical Lab Expo runs Tuesday, July 27 to Thursday, July 29, 2027, and exhibits close at 12 p.m. on Thursday; daily opening hours for 2027 are not confirmed yet. During the 2026 Anaheim meeting the expo opened 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursday. Booths must be show-ready by 2 p.m. Monday, July 26.
Where is ADLM 2027 held?
ADLM lists McCormick Place on South King Drive in Chicago for its 2027 meeting. The hall assignment for the Clinical Lab Expo is not confirmed yet; the floor plan sits on Spargo's ADLM 2027 event map. The 2026 meeting was in Anaheim.
How many people attend ADLM?
ADLM reported nearly 17,000 registered laboratory medicine professionals at ADLM 2026 in Anaheim, with 700 exhibitors on 308,611 net square feet of Clinical Lab Expo. Attendance for the 2027 Chicago meeting is not confirmed yet.
How do we get a booth at ADLM?
ADLM sells space through Spargo on the ADLM 2027 exhibitor site, with separate applications for returning and new exhibitors. Priority points from past exhibiting and sponsorship set placement, co-exhibiting is not allowed, and applications from January 29, 2027 pay 100 percent of the space fee up front.
Who exhibits at ADLM?
ADLM lists 700+ exhibitors across 200+ product categories for its Clinical Lab Expo, from analyzer and assay makers to lab software and service companies. Co-exhibiting is prohibited under the 2027 rules, so every company on the floor holds its own space contract and earns its own priority points.
