What makes ASMS different, and how we build for it
ASMS is a scientific conference first. Every exhibitor is an ASMS Corporate Member, every company gets the same 10×10 booth, and the booths share the poster and exhibit hall with much of the science. Under the corporate member policies (2026 rules), instruments are displayed but not run and booths keep the tone of a scientific session, so the selling moves to evening Hospitality Suites, early Breakfast Rooms and user meetings held before the opening. A winning ASMS presence is a precise 10×10 plus a suite that researchers want to walk into after the sessions.
A booth that answers a technical question in two minutes between poster sessions: resolution, sensitivity, workflow and software, shown on a screen they can drive themselves.
Application data for their assay, a quiet corner for a specific conversation, and a follow-up path to a breakfast seminar or suite meeting.
A clear product hierarchy, service and consumables story, and a staffer who can book a private daytime meeting in the hospitality suite.
Your team in Houston
Two shops, one project manager, every hall
We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the George R. Brown Convention Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.
Your team walks into a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.

Popular booth sizes at ASMS
ASMS sells one size: every Corporate Member company gets a single 10×10, and displays stay inside the 10 ft by 10 ft line. A distinctly branded related company can add a separate secondary booth. We recommend a precision-built 10×10 paired with a hospitality suite kit, where the bigger budget and the longer conversations go.

The ASMS booth: one static benchtop or floor instrument, a touchscreen running your acquisition or data-analysis software, and a back wall for application results.

Case study · Pixee Medical
Pixee Medical at a medical technology congress
A focused, demo-first booth for augmented-reality surgical guidance, built so every visitor could try the technology while traffic kept moving.
Different field, same problem: Pixee Medical needed a focused, demo-first booth for complex technology, just as an ASMS 10×10 must explain an instrument in two minutes.
Read the Pixee Medical case study All case studies →“We were very happy with the experience and with the support provided throughout the project. The booth looked great, the coordination process was smooth, and everything was handled professionally, which made the event much easier for our team.”

04 Designing for mass spectrometry instrument, software and lab supply companies at ASMS
Four things we get right for ASMS exhibitors
1Build the 10×10 to the inch
ASMS requires displays and furnishings to stay inside the 10 ft by 10 ft space, so we design with no overhangs, a tight back-wall depth and a counter that leaves room for two scientists and one staffer around the instrument.
2Show the instrument, run the software
Equipment is displayed but not operated, while computers and data systems can run. We place the instrument as a lit static hero with a cutaway graphic, and put live spectra, method setup and data-processing demos on a touchscreen beside it.
Design for a scientific-session tone
Booths play no music, serve no food and run no contests or raffles, and giveaways are limited to 10:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Thursday (2026 rules). We plan literature holders, a giveaway drawer and lead retrieval, since ASMS provides no post-conference list.
Put the budget into the suite
The suite is where ASMS exhibitors outgrow the 10×10. Suites open to all attendees for at least three hours from 8:00 pm, are themed in décor only and allow one sign outside the door. We build a portable suite kit: graphics, lighting bright enough for the rules, a demo screen wall and an instrument plinth.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this
You see the booth in 3D before we cut a single panel: layout, graphics, lighting and product positions, revised until it is right. Shown: a Purple concept for Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry.

Logistics for ASMS 2027, handled
The George R. Brown Convention Center sits on the east side of downtown Houston with exhibit halls on two levels, so we route freight to the dock that serves your assigned hall. Texas is a right-to-work state: your own full-time employees may assemble the booth, but dock-to-booth material handling still runs through the show's exclusive contractor. We crate instruments for drayage, book the advance warehouse or direct targets, and install with our own project manager and vetted local labor. The Hilton Americas-Houston connects to the GRB by skywalk and METRORail's Convention District station stops at the door.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our George R. Brown Convention Center exhibitor guide.
Hall guide
The George R. Brown spreads its exhibit space over two levels on the east side of downtown. These are the halls this building uses, and what each one means for a 10×10 and the freight behind it.
Hall A has 114,750 usable sq ft, Hall B 106,700, Hall C 104,400 and Hall D 106,200, all on the ground level with 35-ft ceilings.
Our advice: Ground-level halls mean a short dock-to-booth run for a crated instrument, which keeps material handling time and cost down.
115,680 usable sq ft with a 35-ft ceiling, on the same ground level as Halls A–D; together the five halls offer 547,730 usable sq ft.
Our advice: Hall E lands crates at grade like the other Level 1 halls; we label every case for the dock serving your hall.
114,620 and 90,820 usable sq ft on the upper level with 30-ft ceilings, used for secondary exhibit space and association shows.
Our advice: Upper-level space changes freight routing, so we plan the route as soon as your booth number shows which level you are on.

Questions exhibitors ask us before ASMS
How much does an ASMS 2027 booth cost?
Because ASMS sells only 10×10 booths, the build stays compact: a 10×10 rental runs $3,500 to $8,000 and a custom 10×10 runs $8,000 to $25,000. Instrument plinths, touchscreens and crating move the number, and a hospitality suite kit is its own line. ASMS and the show contractor bill membership, space and services directly.
When does ASMS 2027 booth ordering open?
ASMS opens booth ordering in November 2026, and most companies renew their $650 corporate membership at the same time. We need design sign-off on the 10×10 and the suite kit by late March 2027 to build in 30 to 45 days and ship about three weeks before the June 6 opening.
Can we rent a booth for ASMS, and what does a rental include?
Yes. A rental 10×10 with your graphics, a counter and a monitor mount is the most common ASMS setup, and it includes freight, installation and dismantle with our project manager on site. We can add a custom instrument plinth or back wall and reuse the same graphics in your hospitality suite.
Can we set up our own booth at the George R. Brown Convention Center?
Yes. Texas is a right-to-work state, so full-time employees of your company may assemble a booth of any size with their own tools. Material handling from the dock to the booth still runs through the show's exclusive contractor, so your crated instrument and booth cases move on its order.
Can we run our mass spectrometer in the ASMS booth?
No. The instrument can stand in the booth but stays powered down; only computers and data systems may run. So the mass spectrometer becomes a lit centerpiece and your software carries the live part on a touchscreen. Plan the product mix too: only products your own company sells may be displayed, not a partner's.
What does drayage cost at ASMS and who pays it?
You pay it to the show's exclusive contractor. Our planning figure for the GRB is about $95 per hundredweight for 2026 and 2027, with a 200-pound minimum and surcharges for late, off-target, uncrated or special-handling freight. A crated benchtop instrument adds weight fast, so we weigh every case and list the estimate on the proposal.
Can we reuse our ASMS booth at other shows?
We design the 10×10 kit to extend to a 10×20 for ADLM and ASM Microbe in Chicago or ACS Fall in San Diego, adding a second instrument and a consultation counter. The graphics carry over to your hospitality suite, and the kit goes to storage between shows.
Can you build our ASMS hospitality suite?
The suite works on two schedules: by appointment from 8:15 am to 7:00 pm for private meetings of up to 25 people per company, then open to every attendee for at least three hours from 8:00 pm. We ship a portable kit with graphics, lighting, a demo wall and a plinth, set it on move-in day and pack it after the last night.
Before you sign with anyone
Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for ASMS:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
