01 Purple at Chicago Collective 2027
A menswear market of open booths: Chicago Collective 2027 at THE MART, Chicago
Chicago Collective runs on appointments, so a space here works like a fitting room: an edited rail, a table for the order, shoes and accessories within reach. THE MART supplies the hard white walls and lights, and its own union carpenters, painters and electricians handle power tools, decals and fixtures.
- Jan 30–Feb 2 · THE MART
- 750+ menswear brands
- Floors 4 and 7, open booths
What makes Chicago Collective different, and how we build for it
Chicago Collective calls itself North America's leading international menswear show, and it fills the entire 7th floor of THE MART plus 33,000 square feet on the 4th floor with 750+ brands, per the organizer. The format is open booth rather than closed showrooms, which lets buyers walk from tailored clothing to footwear to gifting in one loop. Saturday Preview Day opens at noon before appointments start on Sunday. The Italian Trade Agency brings 64+ Italian brands to a dedicated area with Aperitivo hours in the Center Lounge, and the Opening Night Party runs at Marshall's Landing inside THE MART. Buyers booking through onPeak get up to $150 back on hotel nights, which keeps independent stores coming from across the continent.
They buy tailored clothing, sportswear and shoes for one or two doors, by appointment, and want to touch the cloth, see the full color run and write the order at a table without crowding the aisle.
They move fast between scheduled appointments on Sunday and Monday, so they need the collection organized by delivery, clear pricing and a rep who can open the line book while they look.
Saturday Preview Day is when they wander, compare Italian makers in the ITA area with domestic brands and decide which new lines earn an appointment next season.
Your team in Chicago
From our two shops to the Chicago Collective floor
We fabricate in our own Fishkill, NY shop and our Las Vegas hub, then ship to the THE MART, where our own project manager leads the install with vetted local labor. Every Chicago Collective build runs a predictable 30 to 45 days and gets a pre-show QA, with secure storage after.
Your team arrives at Chicago Collective to a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.
Inside Chicago Collective 2027
Rules that shape your Chicago Collective booth
Exhibitors may set up their own display only if one person finishes in under 30 minutes, with no tools, in a booth of 100 sq ft or less; ladders, step stools and battery tools are banned. We bring union labor through the EAC form for everything else.
THE MART requires its in-house painters for decals, vinyl and wallpaper, its electricians for fixtures, light boxes and TVs, and carpenters for any power tool work. We hand each trade a marked-up install drawing so the work fits the set-up window.
Each piece must fit 5 by 10 feet by 5 feet 8 inches and weigh under 2,000 lbs, and 7,500 lbs of drayage per booth is included. We crate fixtures flat and weigh every shipment so you stay inside the allowance.
Models must register at the 1st floor desk, remain inside the booth, change only there and skip buyer events and the café lunch. We plan a screened changing corner and a small staff counter for model meals.
All exhibitors must be fully set up by 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2027, with no construction or moving of product during show hours. Our project manager schedules the building trades so the punch list is done Friday.
Programs worth planning for
A dedicated floor area for 64+ Italian ready-to-wear and accessories brands exhibiting with ITA support at the 2027 show, with an espresso bar and Aperitivo hours in the 7th floor Center Lounge.
Buyers who book through onPeak receive $50 a night for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, up to $150, after filling in the form at the 7th floor show office; checks are mailed two to three weeks after the show.
The show's signature networking party on Sunday, January 31, 2027 from 6 p.m., at Marshall's Landing inside THE MART, sponsored by Duck Head.
Industry publications attend as credentialed press and can formally distribute their magazines from the Media Partners section on the show floor.

02 Booths & pricing for Chicago Collective 2027
Popular booth sizes at Chicago Collective
Chicago Collective sells open booths that THE MART builds: hard white walls, gray carpet, four LED spotlights, a ceiling light and a sign come with every space, and the show is at capacity with a waitlist for new brands. We work inside that shell: graphics, rails, display tables and lighting installed by the building's own trades.

One wall of tailored clothing on rails, a short run of shoes on a low shelf, and a two-seat table where the buyer writes the order.

Case study · French Avenue
French Avenue at a fragrance and beauty trade show
A premium fragrance environment built around discovery, with a flow designed for real conversations and product sampling.
We gave French Avenue a premium room where sampling led to unhurried talk; a Chicago Collective space needs that same calm, appointment-paced flow, only with suits and shoes instead of scent.

04 Designing for menswear, footwear and men's accessories brands at Chicago Collective
Four things we get right for Chicago Collective exhibitors
1Hang on one-inch walls
THE MART's booth walls are only one inch thick, and the manual allows half-inch screws or shorter, small nails or 3M removable hooks. We design shelving, rail brackets and graphic panels to that load, and keep heavy footwear on freestanding fixtures instead of the wall.
2Decals go through the painters
At Chicago Collective all decal adhesives, vinyl and wallpaper are installed by THE MART's in-house painters, and lights, light boxes and TVs by its electricians. We deliver graphics production-ready with an install sheet, so the building crew applies your logo wall quickly during set-up.
3Plan for Saturday's preview
The floor opens at noon on Saturday for Preview Day, when buyers browse before Sunday's appointments. We put the newest season and a few hero pieces at the aisle edge so a walk-past buyer stops, and keep the full line book on the appointment table.
4No crates once the show opens
Under Chicago fire ordinances, packing materials leave the floor and you cannot reach your containers during the show. We build lockable storage into the booth for reorders, swatch books and steamers, so nothing your team needs is sitting in a storage cage.
Floor at a glance
Where you could be at Chicago Collective 2027
Chicago Collective's Men's Edition spreads over two floors of THE MART, with registration and model check-in on the 1st floor and buyer meals on the 2nd. Here is what each floor means for your space.
Floor 7
The entire floor holds the core of the show, the ITA area and Center Lounge, the show office and the Airways Freight desk in the operations office.
Our advice Front-aisle spaces see the coffee and beer bars; we keep the aisle face open so traffic waiting there sees the collection.
Floor 4
33,000 square feet added beside the 7th floor, with its own operations desk and a main bar by the freight elevators.
Our advice Buyers reach the 4th floor on purpose, so a clear brand name at eye level matters more than a tall header here.
Floors 1 and 2
Registration, contractor badges and Model Registration sit on the 1st floor; the CTA stop and the café serving buyer breakfast and lunch are on the 2nd.
Our advice Send staff and models through the 1st floor desks early on Saturday so badges are done before the noon opening.
05 THE MART · Chicago
Logistics for Chicago Collective 2027, handled
Freight reaches THE MART through the dock off Kinzie Street, Tuesday to Friday, January 26–29, 2027, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; nothing goes up on Saturday. Each piece must fit 5 by 10 feet by 5 feet 8 inches and weigh under 2,000 lbs, and each booth gets 7,500 lbs of drayage before overage charges. Set-up runs January 28–29 and Saturday morning until 11 a.m., and crates must be off the floor by 6 p.m. Friday. Union labor covers power tools, flooring, decals and electrical, so we file the EAC form with $2,000,000 liability coverage naming MMPI, Vornado and GCJ Management, and our project manager directs THE MART crews and vetted local labor through set-up.

Chicago Collective exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before Chicago Collective
When is Chicago Collective 2027?
The Men's Edition runs Saturday, January 30 to Tuesday, February 2, 2027: Saturday is Preview Day from noon to 6 p.m., Sunday and Monday run 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Tuesday closes at 3 p.m. The second Men's market of 2027 is July 31 to August 3.
Where is Chicago Collective held?
At THE MART, 222 Merchandise Mart Plaza on the Chicago River in River North. The Men's Edition uses the entire 7th floor and 33,000 square feet on the 4th floor. The CTA Brown and Purple lines stop at Merchandise Mart and drop visitors on the building's 2nd floor.
When is the Chicago Collective Women's Edition?
The Women's Edition runs February 28 to March 2, 2027 on Floor 7 of THE MART. It launched in 2023 for women's apparel, accessories, footwear and lifestyle brands, uses the same open-booth format and offers the same discounted hotels and buyer travel reimbursement.
How do I exhibit at Chicago Collective?
Chicago Collective is at capacity for new exhibitors, so new brands join the waitlist through the Apply to Exhibit form and are considered for future shows. Contracted exhibitors use their booth number as the passcode to register everyone working the booth and to open the Exhibitor Manual.
What comes with a Chicago Collective booth?
Every space includes hard white walls, gray carpet, a 120V 150-watt duplex outlet, four LED spotlights, a 1 by 4 foot ceiling fixture, an ID sign with company name and booth number, one chair and one wastebasket. Furniture, decals and photo murals are booth upgrades through the show.
Can we set up our own booth at Chicago Collective?
Only if one person can finish the task in under 30 minutes, without tools, in a booth of 100 sq ft or less. Ladders, step stools and power tools are banned for exhibitors. Anything larger goes to THE MART's union crews or a registered EAC, which is how we install.
How much does a booth at Chicago Collective cost?
Booth space at Chicago Collective is quoted by THE MART's show sales team, with no 2027 rate card or size list on the site; the show is at capacity, with new brands on a waitlist. Our part is the dressing inside the supplied shell (graphics, rails, tables, added lighting), quoted on a fixed proposal, while union decal and electrical labor is billed by THE MART.
What are the freight rules at THE MART?
Pieces must fit 5 by 10 feet by 5 feet 8 inches and weigh under 2,000 lbs, or a $74.80 handling fee per item per trip applies. Each booth gets 7,500 lbs of drayage free, with overage at $74.80 per 100 lbs. Freight is accepted January 26–29, 2027 only.
Can we ship samples by UPS or FedEx?
Packages are accepted Monday, January 25 to Friday, January 29, 2027; anything earlier pays $74.80 per 100 lbs storage. The manual warns that even priority deliveries reach booths late during peak days and suggests sending express parcels to your hotel. Outbound parcels go through the Airways Freight desk at $15 an item.
Who attends Chicago Collective?
Credentialed buyers only: owners and buyers of men's specialty stores and retail websites, who show photo ID plus a retail license, lease or tax ID and proof of employment. The show bars sourcing agents, factories, textile mills and consultants from soliciting, and it is closed to the public.
Are models allowed in booths at Chicago Collective?
Models register at the 1st floor desk, wear a model badge and stay inside the booth; walking the aisles is not allowed. They change only in the booth, never in restrooms, and the café lunch is for retailers, so plan food for models in the booth. We design a screened changing corner for fit-model booths.
Where do Chicago Collective exhibitors stay?
onPeak is the only travel partner for Chicago Collective, and the negotiated hotels are all within walking distance of THE MART. Buyers who book through onPeak can claim $50 a night for Saturday to Monday, up to $150, by filling in the form at the 7th floor show office.
Can we take photos or video on the floor?
Photographing, filming or recording on the floor is prohibited without prior written consent from show management. If you want lookbook shots or social video in your booth, we build the request into the pre-show checklist so the consent is in hand before Saturday.
Is Chicago Collective worth exhibiting at?
For tailored, classic and contemporary menswear sold to independent stores, it is the largest gathering of that buyer in one room, with 750+ brands and appointments set before the doors open. Brands selling mainly to department stores or young streetwear accounts often fit PROJECT in Las Vegas better.
Before you sign for Chicago Collective
Five things to ask every builder quoting Chicago Collective:
- Are all fees on paper, including what the contractor at the THE MART bills?
- Who actually builds it for Chicago Collective: your shop or a subcontractor?
- Who from your team is on the Chicago Collective floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what does Chicago Collective bill?
- What happens to the booth after Chicago Collective, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics and repair what is worn, then ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for and bring it to Chicago Collective.
Exhibiting from outside the US? For Chicago Collective, we act as your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, and one project manager who answers your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? In two to three weeks, a rental with your graphics can be ready for Chicago. You will know on the first call what is realistic for your Chicago Collective date.
