What makes HPA Tech Retreat different, and how we build for it
The HPA Tech Retreat is not a trade show.The Hollywood Professional Association runs five days of conference programming, roundtables and a Sunday of gHacks, with exhibits limited to the Innovation Zone, a juried area a committee fills by application. In 2027 the retreat moves to La Quinta Resort & Club, February 14–18. The Innovation Zone opens Monday to Wednesday with a cocktail reception each evening, and Wednesday brings the HPA Awards Innovation & Technology honors. HPA's 2019 retreat was strictly capped at 700 guests, so every visitor is a decision-maker you can talk to for twenty minutes.

Inside HPA Tech Retreat 2027
HPA Tech Retreat rules that shape your booth
The Innovation Zone is application-based and highly selective, and a committee picks the technologies shown. We start production only after HPA confirms your place and package, so nothing is built for a booth you do not get.
Standard and Plus packages are a 10' x 8' booth with HPA's 6-foot table, two chairs, tablecloth and 18" x 24" sign. We design the backdrop and screens around that table, not over it.
Each Standard, Plus and Applied Tech package includes a single 20-amp drop. We plan the power load for your monitors, workstations and LED lights to stay inside it.
Standard Wi-Fi is included; dedicated internet, enhanced bandwidth and demo connectivity are purchased through the venue. We place that order with the resort for cloud or streaming demos.
The $3,500 Startup package is open only to companies that meet HPA's eligibility guidelines and gives tabletop demo space with one ticket. We build a one-case tabletop kit for it.
Programs worth planning for
HPA's juried demo area, open Monday to Wednesday with daily cocktail receptions; packages run from a $3,500 startup tabletop to $8,500 Applied Tech, and applications close in December or when sold out.

Retreat attendees master and grade images for a living. We light the 10' x 8' space dimly with no color cast on your screen, mount a reference monitor at eye level and keep backdrop graphics matte so nothing reflects into the demo.

HPA's Standard booth comes with one 20-amp power drop. We budget your displays, workstations and lights against that circuit, choose low-draw LED fixtures and tell you early if a second circuit is needed.

Standard Wi-Fi is included, but dedicated internet, extra bandwidth or demo connectivity is bought through La Quinta Resort & Club. For cloud workflows we order a wired line and keep a local fallback loaded on the demo machine.

The HPA Tech Retreat runs inside La Quinta Resort & Club, a desert resort with casitas and spa rooms, not a convention center, so there is no general contractor floor or drayage tariff to plan around. HPA supplies the Innovation Zone table, chairs, tablecloth, 20-amp drop and booth sign; connectivity beyond basic Wi-Fi is ordered through the resort. We ship a compact, crated display kit to the resort with your booth details, or pack it for your team to fly, and our project manager handles setup ahead of Monday's opening. Palm Springs International Airport is the closest airport, per HPA.

One all-access ticket, a 10' x 8' space, a 6-foot table with two chairs and a tablecloth, a 20-amp power drop and an 18" x 24" booth sign. Plus adds preferred placement and a digital marketing asset. We supply the backdrop, monitor mounts, lighting and graphics around it.
Can Purple build a custom booth at the HPA Tech Retreat?
HPA sells fixed Innovation Zone footprints, not open floor space, so a custom island does not fit here. What we build is the kit inside the footprint: a fabric backdrop, screen mounts, matte graphics and lighting tuned for picture evaluation, sized for a 10' x 8' or 12' x 8' space.
When is the Innovation Zone open?
HPA's 2027 schedule opens the Innovation Zone Monday through Wednesday, February 15–17, with breakfast, lunch and an Innovation Zone cocktail reception each day. Wednesday evening also brings the HPA Awards Innovation & Technology honors.
Can we get faster internet for a demo?
Standard Wi-Fi comes with every Innovation Zone package. Dedicated internet, enhanced bandwidth or demo connectivity is purchased through La Quinta Resort & Club, with pricing to be shared by HPA. For cloud demos we plan a wired line plus local playback in case the network slows.
What does the Applied Tech package add?
Applied Tech, $8,500 for HPA corporate members, includes two all-access tickets, preferred placement, a 12' x 8' space with other size options, table, power drop and sign, and the option to submit a stage topic for committee approval. It suits a company with a story to present as well as demo.
How many people attend the HPA Tech Retreat?
HPA keeps the retreat small: its 2019 edition was strictly capped at 700 guests. HPA's 2027 page publishes no attendance figure. The 2022 Innovation Zone held 58 approved companies, and the 2027 list names 15 participants so far, with more under review.
What does registration cost for exhibitor staff?
An All-Access pass for 2027 is $2,495 for HPA members and $3,395 for non-members, paid in full at registration, and a One-Day Pass is $1,495 or $1,695. Hotel is not included; registered attendees get a resort rate of $359 a night plus taxes and resort fee.
What are the HPA Tech Retreat 2027 exhibitor deadlines?
