What makes NAB Show New York different, and how we build for it
NAB Show New York is the East Coast companion to April's Las Vegas show: two days on Level 3 of the Javits Center, with Theaters A through D running sessions on the floor, a Career Fair and a Show Floor Party on the first afternoon. In 2026 it drew about 6,700 attendees from 72 countries, and 57% were at the show for the first time, so a booth meets many teams who skipped Las Vegas. NAB Show New York rules that shape your booth
Every island submits designs and technical renderings with heights to NAB and Javits Fire & Safety (August 1 in 2026), and trusses and video walls need a wet-stamped U.S. engineer's drawing. We commission the engineering with the design.
Islands of at least 20×20 reach 24 feet for structures and hanging signs; linear booths stop at 8 feet with a 4-foot front half, and only islands and split islands may hang signs (2026 rules). We size the sign to the limit.
NAB measures booth audio and caps it at 80 decibels, with speakers kept inside and facing into the booth. We build listening corners and headphone stations for audio and replay demos.
Wireless mics, walkie-talkies and transmitters must meet FCC rules and be shut down if they interfere; outdoor satellite gear needs a Freeman Satellite Placement Form; drones under 55 pounds fly only in netted enclosures with approval. We file the forms.
Your staff may set up displays of 250 square feet or less without tools or ladders and plug in 110-volt gear under 500 watts; IBEW Local 3 handles power. We order and supervise the union crews for everything else.

NAB Show New York measures sound and sets the limit at 80 decibels, with speakers facing into the booth. We plan demo audio on headphones or a small enclosed listening corner, so a replay or audio console demo never draws a visit from show management.
2Stamped drawings for truss and LED
Trusses and video walls need a wet-stamped drawing from a licensed U.S. engineer with wind and seismic loads, and LED walls must meet ANSI E1.50-1. We order the engineering with the design, so island renderings reach NAB and Javits Fire & Safety complete.

Lasers, UV, strobes and flashing effects need NAB's written approval, and light may not spill onto aisles or neighbors. We aim fixtures into a small camera set inside your footprint, so visitors shoot your cameras on a real scene under controlled color temperature.

Logistics for NAB Show New York 2027, handled
The Javits Center is a full union building: Teamsters move every crate from the marshaling facility to your booth, union carpenters own every build larger than 250 square feet or needing a tool, and IBEW Local 3 electricians run power. Freeman is NAB's contractor for custom booths and service orders. Hand-carry means one trip by one person, with two-wheeled hand-trucks and 45-minute vehicle limits, and staging on 11th Avenue is no longer allowed. We file our EAC paperwork and insurance, truck one crated load down the Hudson from our Fishkill shop and install with our project manager.

NAB Show New York 2027 runs September 29–30, 2027 at the Javits Center, a move from the October dates of earlier editions. NAB has not posted 2027 floor hours; in 2026 the floor was open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 21 and 22, after a conference day on October 20.
Where is NAB Show New York held?
On Level 3 of the Javits Center on 11th Avenue between 34th and 40th Streets, beside Hudson Yards. NAB puts the show floor on Level 3, meeting rooms on Level 2 and the newsroom on the 4E Terrace. Subway riders take the 7 line to its Hudson Yards terminus, one block away.
How much does a booth at NAB Show New York cost?
NAB charges a flat $45 per square foot for 2027, so raw space for a 10×20 is $9,000 before services. Our 10×20 rentals run $7,500 to $15,000 and custom 20×20 islands $50,000 to $120,000; at the Javits, union labor and material handling move the total more than the build does.
What turnkey booths does NAB sell for New York?
For 2027 NAB lists a Standard Turnkey at $5,700 for a 10×10 and $12,750 for a 10×20, and a Lounge Turnkey at $7,000 and $12,350. A private meeting room is $6,000. We add graphics, monitors, lighting and counters to a turnkey, or build a custom booth in its place.

Can we set up our own booth at the Javits Center?
Only within NAB's 2026 limits: your own employees may erect a display of 250 square feet or less that needs no tools or ladders, plug in 110-volt equipment of 500 watts or less and connect up to 14 computer or telecom devices. Anything else is union work, which we order and supervise as your EAC.
What are the booth height limits at NAB Show New York?
NAB's 2026 rules let linear and corner booths rise to 8 feet at the back and 4 feet at the front, and perimeter booths reach 12 feet. Islands of 400 square feet or more go to 24 feet, structure and hanging sign alike, and only islands and split islands may hang signs.
What does NAB require for island booths?
Every island submits designs and technical renderings with heights and dimensions to NAB and Javits Fire & Safety; the 2026 deadline was August 1. Multi-level and covered booths go to Fire & Safety at any size, and upper decks need a New York-registered engineer's stamp. We prepare and file the full package.
Can we fly a drone or run wireless mics in our booth?
Drones need advance approval, must weigh under 55 pounds, fly inside an enclosure with overhead netting and stay 18 inches from the building structure. Wireless mics, walkie-talkies and transmitters must follow FCC rules, and satellite gear outside the building needs a Freeman Satellite Placement Form, per NAB's 2026 rules.
What does drayage cost at the Javits Center?
Teamsters bill material handling by weight through the show contractor; we plan Javits freight at roughly $195 per hundredweight (200-pound minimum), and late or uncrated crates cost more. Light aluminum frames and one crated shipment from Fishkill keep the bill down.
