Denver's SME MINEXCHANGE 2027 booths: islands or inlines, never peninsulas
We design MINEXCHANGE booths for mining engineers who want to see the wear part, the sensor or the ventilation fan and then talk tonnage and recovery. At the Colorado Convention Center we file the Freeman machinery forms and guard anything you power for a demo, as SME requires.

What makes SME MINEXCHANGE different, and how we build for it
MINEXCHANGE is the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration's annual meeting, so the expo sits inside a full technical conference rather than the other way round.SME bills 2027 as its largest show floor yet, more than 300,000 square feet with 900-plus booths, and the Colorado Mining Association's Western Mining Summit is collocated in Denver. The hall opens Sunday evening with the Exhibit Hall Opening Reception, serves lunch on the floor Monday and Wednesday, and hosts a Tuesday Afternoon Social, so attendees keep coming back between the Technical Program sessions. Unlike MINExpo International, it happens every year, and SME sells no peninsulas and no outdoor space.

SME MINEXCHANGE rules that shape your booth
Standard booths top out at 8 feet 3 inches, with anything over 4 feet near a neighbor kept in the back half; perimeter booths reach 12 feet and islands 20 feet (2027 rules). We size walls and signs to each limit.
SME's 2027 rules allow standard, perimeter, island and double-deck booths only; peninsulas and outdoor displays are not permitted, and double-decks need a structural engineer's stamp. We plan big exhibits as islands from the start.
Equipment powered for demonstration needs protective screens or plexiglass covers and an exhibitor present while it runs, and machinery arrives on Freeman's forms (2027 rules). We build the enclosure into your display.
Merchandise and sold signs are not permitted, promotional material stays inside your booth, and handing out beyond it can cost priority points for future space selection (2027 rules). We give literature a home in the booth.
Programs worth planning for
The Colorado Mining Association's summit, collocated with MINEXCHANGE 2027 in Denver, bringing its own mining audience into the same building as the expo.
The first expo session, Sunday, February 28, 2027, 4 to 6 p.m.; exhibitors who want to serve alcohol order through Sodexo and email SME the times for approval.

Popular booth sizes at SME MINEXCHANGE
SME sells 10×10 units and islands of four or more units; peninsulas are not offered and outdoor exhibits are not allowed. Inline booths are the floor's norm, so we recommend a 10×20 for most component and service firms and a 20×20 island when you bring a machine or want a hanging sign.

Four things we get right for SME MINEXCHANGE exhibitors
1Design to 8 feet 3 inches
SME caps inline display height at 8 feet 3 inches, barely above the drape SME hangs behind you, and tall items near a neighboring booth belong in the rear half. We put the tall graphics on the back wall and keep the front low and open.
2Guard anything that moves
Equipment powered for demonstration at MINEXCHANGE must sit behind protective screens or plexiglass, with your staff present whenever it runs. We build a clear enclosure into the plinth so a pump, feeder or sensor can cycle without anyone reaching in.
3Build for the Sunday reception
The expo opens at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 28 with the Exhibit Hall Opening Reception, two hours after move-in ends. We finish your booth Saturday so Sunday morning is lighting checks and a staff walkthrough, not construction.
4Islands are the only big format
With peninsulas unavailable, a company wanting more than an inline run moves straight to an island of four units or more. We design 20×20 and larger islands as open machines-and-meeting layouts and submit the design to show management for approval.

Our advice One level means machines roll from dock to booth without a freight elevator, so we plan delivery by booth number, not by floor.
Perimeter wall booths
Standard booths along the outer wall of the floor may rise to 12 feet, against 8 feet 3 inches for inline booths in the hall's interior.
Our advice If your graphics need height but your budget fits an inline run, a perimeter location is worth asking SME for.

Logistics for SME MINEXCHANGE 2027, handled
SME's 2027 rules route all incoming equipment and machinery through Freeman's material handling and machinery forms. Your full-time employees may set up their own display when no carts, dollies, power tools, ladders or forklifts are needed; anything more goes to Freeman or IATSE Local No. 7 labor, the Colorado Convention Center's own rule. Freight handling here goes on our proposal near $160 per 100 pounds, with a two-hundredweight floor. Booths of 10×20 and larger may start move-in Friday, February 26, at 11 a.m., which gives your machine a quieter dock. Halls A to F sit on one level, and the Hyatt Regency Denver connects directly to the building for your staff.

Last day to buy space and be listed in the MINEXCHANGE 2027 onsite program: January 15, 2027. Space bought later still shows in the app and floorplan, but not in print; we need your design sign-off a month before this anyway.

How much does a booth at SME MINEXCHANGE 2027 cost?
SME charges $3,200 per standard 10×10 and $3,400 for a corner, so a 10×20 inline runs $6,400 to $6,800 in space. On our side a 10×20 rental is $7,500 to $15,000; a custom 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000. Guarded demo plinths and Freeman machinery handling move the number.
What are the exhibitor deadlines for MINEXCHANGE 2027?
December 4, 2026 is the January pre-ShowGuide deadline, January 5, 2027 the February ShowGuide deadline, and January 15, 2027 the last day to be listed in the onsite program. Booth payment closed September 30, 2026. We need your design signed off in mid-December to build in time.
Can we rent a booth for MINEXCHANGE, and what does a rental include?
Each SME 10×10 comes as back drape and side rails only, 8 and 3 feet tall; carpet, furniture and electricity are on you. Our rental adds the structure, graphics cut to the 8-foot-3-inch limit, lighting, carpet, a guarded display plinth and storage, delivered and installed on one fixed price.
Can our own staff set up our booth at the Colorado Convention Center?
SME lets full-time employees install their own display as long as no flatbed carts, dollies, power tools, ladders or forklifts are needed. Anything heavier goes through the official service provider. Children under 16 are not admitted during installation or dismantle, and staff badges are required for move-in.
Can we run equipment in our MINEXCHANGE booth?
Powered equipment may be demonstrated if it has protective screens, plexiglass covers or similar guarding, and someone from your company is present the whole time it runs. Demonstrations must stay low in volume. Machinery coming into the hall is scheduled on Freeman's material handling forms, which we file.
What does drayage cost at MINEXCHANGE and who pays it?
You pay Freeman, by weight, at the rate in SME's Exhibitor Service Kit. Our planning figure for the Colorado Convention Center is around $160 a hundredweight for 2026 and 2027, with 200 pounds as the floor. Mining components are dense, so we price drayage per crate on the proposal.
Do you handle Freeman orders for MINEXCHANGE?
We do. Once SME opens the Exhibitor Service Kit, we place the Freeman material handling and machinery forms, electrical, carpet, furniture and labor orders, file the exhibitor appointed contractor form with SME, and send you every confirmation before move-in.
Can we reuse our MINEXCHANGE booth at other shows?
We build MINEXCHANGE booths in modules that grow into a MINExpo International island in Las Vegas or shrink to an inline for AISTech or World of Asphalt and AGG1. We store the pieces between meetings and recut graphics when SME moves the meeting to another city.
When is SME MINEXCHANGE 2027?
February 28 to March 3, 2027. The expo opens with a reception Sunday, February 28, 4 to 6 p.m., runs 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and closes at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, with lunch served in the hall Monday and Wednesday.

Denver hosts 2027, at the Colorado Convention Center on 14th Street, collocated with the Colorado Mining Association's Western Mining Summit. SME rotates the meeting: Salt Lake City hosted 2026 and Denver 2025. Nearly 13,000 hotel rooms sit within walking distance of the building.

SME's board reported a final headcount of 7,050 attendees at MINEXCHANGE 2025 in Denver, including 977 international members and 602 students, in Mining Engineering, SME's official publication. For 2027 SME promises exhibitors access to more than 7,400 qualified industry professionals. Attendance for 2027 is not confirmed yet.
Who organizes SME MINEXCHANGE?
The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, based in Englewood, Colorado, with more than 14,000 members worldwide. SME runs the Technical Program, short courses, field trips, awards and the expo, and sells booths through its exhibits team using the interactive floorplan.
How do I get a booth at MINEXCHANGE 2027?
Choose an open booth on SME's interactive floorplan and complete the online space contract; for 10×20 and larger, SME asks you to call its exhibit sales team first. Confirmations, contracts and invoices come through Map Your Show, and after January 5, 2027 a credit card payment holds the space.
