Architects, engineers and developers at IMTC judge a timber product by the connection detail, the fire rating and the panel edge, so your booth puts a real assembly at arm's length. At the Oregon Convention Center we plan heavy pieces around the 3,000-pound setup-plan rule and Fern Expo's rigging.

What makes International Mass Timber Conference & Expo different, and how we build for it
The International Mass Timber Conference is the yearly meeting of the mass timber industry, produced by Trifecta Collective and WoodWorks, now in its 11th year and grown to four days in 2027.Exhibitors must make, distribute or serve mass timber, so the Exhibit Hall is full of CLT and glulam producers, connector makers, fire and acoustic specialists and design software. The program adds the Mass Timber Boot Camp, building tours around Portland, The Boardroom, a New Tech Hub for technology and software providers, poster presentations, the Women in Timber Power Hour and the Mass Timber Report and Price Index, so specifiers and buyers arrive ready to talk detail.
Designers want connection details, fire test results, acoustic assemblies and span tables, and they trust a physical sample with a cut edge more than a rendering.
Owners and builders compare cost, schedule and supply: lead times, panel sizes, shipping from the plant and who installs, so they need clear numbers and a project they can visit.
Mills, fabricators and suppliers come to find partners and capacity, so they look for capability walls, plant photos and the person who can quote.
Your team in Portland
Two shops behind your International Mass Timber Conference & Expo booth
Our Fishkill, NY production shop and our Las Vegas hub build the booth, we ship it to the Oregon Convention Center, and our own project manager runs the International Mass Timber Conference & Expo install on the floor with vetted local labor. Turnaround is a predictable 30 to 45 days, with pre-show QA and secure storage for your International Mass Timber Conference & Expo booth.
At International Mass Timber Conference & Expo, your team walks into a booth that is lit and stocked. You just show up.
New at International Mass Timber Conference & Expo 2027
- Four days, Tuesday to Friday
The 2027 conference runs March 16 to 19, which the organizer says grows the show to four days. The Exhibit Hall opens Wednesday at 3 p.m., so plan staff hotel nights around a Tuesday program day before the floor opens. source
- A New Tech Hub inside the Exhibit Hall
Technology and software providers get their own feature area on the floor. Software, scanning and design-tool companies can weigh a Tech Hub presence against a standard booth among the timber producers. source
- Staggered Thursday sessions free up floor time
Thursday afternoon education sessions are staggered so attendees are not all in rooms at once. Booth staff get a steadier flow of visitors through the afternoon instead of one rush between sessions. source
- Boot Camp included in Full and Wednesday passes
The Mass Timber Boot Camp no longer costs extra for Full or Wednesday-only pass holders. Expect more people new to mass timber on the floor, a reason to bring sample panels and connection details that explain the basics. source
- Building tour tickets sold without a pass
Tour tickets can now be bought on their own for a single day, without an attendee pass as in past years. Exhibitors can add a tour for a client or a staff member without buying a full registration. source
Inside International Mass Timber Conference & Expo 2027
International Mass Timber Conference & Expo rules that shape your booth
Any display heavier than 3,000 pounds needs a setup plan submitted to Fern Expo and the Oregon Convention Center, on a floor rated at 365 pounds per square foot. We weigh the timber and draw that plan.
Exhibitors may set up their own booths but may not rig or use their own forklifts; equipment and labor come through the Exhibitor Kit or the service desk. We book Fern for every lift.
Inline walls top out at 10 feet toward the back and 4 feet toward the aisle, peninsulas at 12 feet and islands to 18 feet with signage. We size timber frames to these lines.
Exhibitors must be manufacturers, distributors or service providers relevant to mass timber, with management deciding eligibility. We keep the booth on the timber application, not general company branding.
Move-out starts at 1:01 p.m. on Friday, March 19, and tearing down before 1 p.m. can bring fees or a ban from future years. Your Purple project manager schedules dismantle labor for the 1:01 p.m. start.
Programs worth planning for
An introductory program on mass timber, free with a Full or Wednesday-only pass in 2027, which brings newcomers to the Exhibit Hall.

04 Designing for mass timber manufacturers, connector and hardware makers, software, fire and acoustic product companies and service providers at International Mass Timber Conference & Expo
Four things we get right for International Mass Timber Conference & Expo exhibitors
1Build the booth out of the product
At IMTC a timber producer's booth is its best sample. We design the structure around your own CLT panels or glulam members, with Purple graphics and lighting added, so architects can see grain, finish and connections at full scale.
2Plan heavy pieces with Fern Expo
The Oregon Convention Center floor is rated at 365 pounds per square foot, and any display over 3,000 pounds needs a setup plan sent to Fern Expo and the OCC. We weigh every panel, draw the setup plan and book Fern for forklifts and rigging.
3Show the connection and the char
Engineers ask how the joint works and how the member performs in fire. We mount a cut-away connection at eye height and a charred sample in a case, labeled with the test standard, so a technical visitor gets the answer without a brochure.
4Finish the back of tall walls
Any part of a display above the 8-foot drape that neighbors can see must have a finished back without branding, and inline walls stop at 10 feet in the rear half. We finish tall timber walls in wood on both faces.

Concept rendering
Every International Mass Timber Conference & Expo proposal includes a rendering like this
Before we cut a single panel, you see the booth in 3D (layout, graphics, lighting and product positions) and we revise it until it is right. Above: a Purple concept for Italica.

Where you could be at International Mass Timber Conference & Expo 2027
IMTC's Exhibit Hall at the Oregon Convention Center opens with the Wednesday Welcome Reception and stays open into Friday, with move-out from 1:01 p.m., beside the conference sessions.
Exhibit Hall
A 30-foot ceiling and a 365 pounds-per-square-foot floor, with inline booths to 10 feet, peninsulas to 12 and islands to 18 feet, signs included.
Our advice An island lets a producer stand up a real timber frame; we plan the pieces so Fern's forklift sets them on move-in day.
New Tech Hub
A new 2027 exhibit area where technology providers show tools and software for mass timber design, fabrication and construction.
Our advice Software and digital fabrication exhibitors gain from screens facing the aisle and a model or sample that shows the output.
Poster Presentations and The Boardroom
Research posters and The Boardroom sessions are part of the 2027 program, pulling engineers and decision-makers through the event.
Our advice We print a technical one-pager that matches your booth wall, so researchers and executives leave with the same data.

International Mass Timber Conference & Expo exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before International Mass Timber Conference & Expo
When is the International Mass Timber Conference 2027?
The 2027 conference runs Tuesday, March 16 to Friday, March 19, 2027 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, now four days long. The Exhibit Hall opens Wednesday, March 17 at 3 p.m. with the Welcome Reception, and Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m.
Where is the Mass Timber Conference held?
At the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon; the 2026 conference was also in Portland, March 31 to April 2, 2026. The exhibit hall has a 30-foot ceiling and a floor rated at 365 pounds per square foot, which matters for heavy timber displays.
How much does a booth at the Mass Timber Conference cost?
For 2027, space is $25.95 per square foot from 100 to 300 square feet and $19.95 from 400 square feet, plus $250 per corner: $2,595 for a 10×10, $5,190 for a 20×10, $7,980 for a 20×20 island and $11,970 for a 20×30. Passes are bought separately.
What comes with an IMTC exhibit space?
Each space includes a 6-foot draped table, two chairs, a wastebasket and an ID sign, a listing in the app and online directory, Exhibit Hall coffee and tea, and a 30% discount on select exhibitor and sponsor passes. Carpet, power, furniture and labor come from Fern Expo.
Who can exhibit at the Mass Timber Conference?
Exhibitors must be manufacturers, distributors or service providers relevant to the mass timber industry, and event management makes the final call. Spaces go first come, first served, and you must buy at least one Exhibitor & Sponsor pass to confirm the booth.
What are the booth height limits at IMTC?
IMTC lets inline displays climb to 10 feet across the back half of the space, keeping the aisle half at 4 feet; peninsulas reach 12 feet and islands 18 feet, signs included. Anything visible above the 8-foot drape needs a finished back with no branding, and exceptions are granted case by case.
Can we hang a sign at the Mass Timber Conference?
Hanging signs are allowed only for spaces of 400 square feet or more, with the bottom of the sign no higher than 20 feet from the floor. Signs must be at least double-sided and stay inside your booth outline, and sign graphics and rigging are ordered through the Exhibitor Kit.
Can we bring heavy timber panels into the hall?
The Oregon Convention Center floor carries 365 pounds per square foot, and any display over 3,000 pounds needs a setup plan submitted to Fern Expo and the OCC. Exhibitors may not use their own forklifts or rig, so Fern Expo handles lifting and we draw the plan.
Can we set up our own booth at IMTC?
Exhibitors may set up their own booths, but not rig or drive their own forklifts. An outside contractor like Purple must file the Exhibitor Appointed Contractor approval form at least 45 days before move-in, with insurance naming Fern Expo and Trifecta Collective.
When is move-in and move-out at the Mass Timber Conference?
Move-in runs Tuesday, March 16, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday, March 17, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with booths ready by 3 p.m. Move-out starts Friday, March 19 at 1:01 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.; tearing down before 1 p.m. can bring fees or a future ban.
How many people attend the Mass Timber Conference?
The organizer's 2027 site lists 3,000+ attendees from 35+ countries, 200+ exhibitors and 90+ speakers. The audience spans architects, engineers, developers, contractors, manufacturers, code officials and academics working on mass timber buildings.
What else happens at IMTC besides the Exhibit Hall?
The 2027 program includes the Mass Timber Boot Camp, free with a Full or Wednesday-only pass, building tours with tickets sold separately, The Boardroom, a New Tech Hub, poster presentations, keynotes and the Women in Timber Power Hour.
Can we rent a booth for the Mass Timber Conference?
We rent IMTC booths built from timber-look or real wood frames with graphics, lighting and counters, and we integrate your own CLT or glulam samples. Our project manager installs and dismantles, and the same kit can return at Greenbuild or AIA.
Is the Mass Timber Conference worth exhibiting at?
If your product goes into mass timber or wood-frame commercial buildings, it is the one meeting where designers, builders and producers of that market gather, with 3,000+ attendees from 35+ countries on the organizer's count. Exhibitors must serve mass timber, which keeps the floor focused.
