What makes Nursery/Landscape EXPO different, and how we build for it
Nursery/Landscape EXPO is the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association’s annual trade show, and in 2027 it returns to Houston under the theme Where Vision Meets Magic. The floor mixes container growers, stone yards, irrigation and equipment makers, and it is judged in public: the Best Booth Awards, picked by the EXPO Chair, reward presentation, creativity and attendee experience. EXPO Gardens and the Product Showcase put plants and products in front of buyers, and the Newcomers Tour, 60 first-timers strong in 2026, walks new attendees through the floor before it opens. Booths that look like a finished Texas yard win the conversation.
Healthy plant material at eye level, clear availability and container sizes, and a table to place fall and spring orders.
Stone, pavers, irrigation and equipment they can touch and operate, plus pricing and delivery terms for the jobs they are bidding.
Plants and hardscape shown in combination, labeled with Texas performance, so they can picture the finished design.

Popular booth sizes at Nursery/Landscape EXPO
The EXPO floor runs to many 10×10 and 10×20 inline booths from growers and suppliers, with larger spaces for stone yards, equipment dealers and the big wholesale nurseries. For a grower or supplier we recommend a 10×20 with a planted front edge; for hardscape or equipment, a 20×20 that holds pallets, a machine and a meeting table.

A planted front edge, a sample wall of stone or pavers and a small order table under shade-style graphics.

Case study · Fabuwood
Fabuwood at KBIS 2026, Orange County Convention Center, Orlando
An award-winning 13-room cabinetry environment with an illuminated brand portal and timber slat walls. Designed, built and installed by Purple; named one of the best booths on the floor.
Different industry, same problem: Fabuwood sold cabinetry by letting KBIS buyers walk through finished rooms, and EXPO buyers order when they stand in a finished yard.

04 Designing for nursery, landscape supply and green industry brands at Nursery/Landscape EXPO
Four things we get right for Nursery/Landscape EXPO exhibitors
1Build the floor for soil and water
Live plants, mulch and running irrigation need a raised deck or sealed flooring with drip trays, so the hall carpet stays clean and the cleanup bill stays small. We plan drainage, hose routing and cleaning access into the booth from the first drawing.
2Engineer for pallets and stone
Pavers, boulders and bagged products are heavy. We size platforms and supports to the real loads, plan forklift placement with the material handling contractor, and build to the Structural Integrity of Exhibit Display Agreement in TNLA’s required exhibitor contract addendum.
Keep plants looking fresh
Three days under hall lights is hard on plants. We specify full-spectrum fixtures that render foliage and blooms accurately, leave space for watering and backup stock, and work from the Texas Quarantine Quick Guide TNLA links for exhibitors bringing live material.
Show the finished landscape
Contractors and designers buy outcomes. A small vignette of paving, edging, plants and low-voltage lighting working together sells better than products in rows, and it is the kind of booth the Best Booth Awards reward.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this

Logistics for Nursery/Landscape EXPO 2027, handled
The George R. Brown Convention Center sits on the east side of downtown Houston, with loading docks that serve both exhibit levels and no link to the downtown tunnel system, so freight goes to the dock, never the hotel. Texas is a right-to-work state, so your own full-time staff can assemble the booth, while material handling from the dock still runs through the show’s exclusive contractor at about $95 per hundredweight in our 2026–2027 planning numbers. TNLA’s required contract addendum covers material handling, structural integrity and an early breakdown policy with penalties (2026 rules). We file the forms, book freight targets and install with our own project manager and vetted local labor.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our George R. Brown Convention Center exhibitor guide.
Hall guide
The George R. Brown Convention Center spreads its exhibit space across two levels on the east side of downtown. These are the halls this building uses and what each means for a planted, heavy booth.
Five halls of 104,400 to 115,680 usable square feet each, all with 35-foot ceilings.
Our advice: Level 1 is the easiest route for pallets of stone and compact machines, and islands with hanging signs are routine here.
114,620 and 90,820 usable square feet on the upper level, with 30-foot ceilings, used for secondary exhibit space.
Our advice: If your space lands upstairs, we plan freight routing and floor loads for heavy hardscape before anything ships.
Docks serve both levels and run separately from the Hilton Americas-Houston; the center has no link to the downtown tunnel system.
Our advice: Address every crate to the dock, never the hotel, and schedule live plant deliveries straight to the dock for move-in.

Questions exhibitors ask us before Nursery/Landscape EXPO
How much does a booth at Nursery/Landscape EXPO 2027 cost?
A 10×10 rental starts at $3,500; step up to a 10×20 rental at $7,500 to $15,000, or a custom 20×20 for stone and equipment at $50,000 to $120,000. At the EXPO, decking that takes soil and water and load-rated platforms for stone move the number most. Booth space comes from TNLA and show services from its contractors, billed separately; every fee we charge is on the proposal.
When do we need to start on a Nursery/Landscape EXPO booth?
We need design sign-off in early June 2027. That leaves a 30–45 day build in Fishkill or Las Vegas, time to proof plant benches and graphics, and a ship date to the advance warehouse about three weeks before the August 18 opening. TNLA sets its booth reservation and contract addendum dates in the exhibitor kit, and we file each form on time.
Can we rent a booth for the TNLA EXPO, and what does a rental include?
Yes. A rental includes the structure, your printed graphics, lighting, design, shipping to Houston, install and dismantle, with custom plant benches, sample walls or decking added as needed. Many growers rent the frame each year and keep only the display fixtures they own, which keeps storage and freight low.
Can we set up our own booth at the George R. Brown Convention Center?
Yes. Texas is a right-to-work state, so full-time employees of your company can assemble a booth of any size with their own tools. Freight is the exception: moving crates from the GRB docks to your space still runs through the show’s exclusive material handling contractor. We can supply a project manager to lead your team or install it all for you.
Can we bring live plants and running equipment to the EXPO?
Yes, and most of the floor does. Plants from out of state fall under the Texas Quarantine Quick Guide that TNLA links for exhibitors, and the show’s Fire Department Regulations govern engines and fuel. We plan watering, drip trays and backup stock, and we keep everything within the Structural Integrity of Exhibit Display Agreement in the contract addendum.
What does drayage cost at the George R. Brown Convention Center and who pays it?
The exhibitor pays it, through the show’s material handling contractor. Our 2026–2027 planning figure for the GRB is about $95 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum, plus surcharges for late, off-target, uncrated or special-handling freight. Pallets of stone add up fast, so we weigh the booth early and put the drayage estimate on your proposal.
Can we reuse the booth at other green industry shows?
We build EXPO booths to reconfigure for Cultivate in Columbus and the Farwest Show in Portland, swapping graphics and plant benches between shows. Between events we store the booth, inspect it and ship it straight to the next advance warehouse, so one structure serves your green industry calendar.
We already own a booth. Can you refresh it and install it in Houston?
We reprint graphics for the 2027 theme or your new lines, repair or replace worn panels, add sealed decking for plants, and install with our project manager at the GRB. We can also take over storage, so your booth lives with us and ships ready for every show on your calendar.
Before you sign with anyone
Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for Nursery/Landscape EXPO:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
