Where Texas home builders shop for next year: Sunbelt 2027 booths in Houston

We build Sunbelt Builders Show booths that show a Texas production or custom builder how your product goes into their homes and what it does to their margin. At the George R. Brown, Texas right-to-work rules let your own employees build the booth.

  • Aug 30–Sep 2 · GRB Houston
  • 200+ industry partners
  • 25 years of Sunbelt shows

What makes Sunbelt Builders Show different, and how we build for it

The Sunbelt Builders Show is the Texas Association of Builders' own trade show, started in San Antonio in 2001 and moved around the state since, including Dallas-Fort Worth.More than 5,000 companies have exhibited over its 25 years, and about 200 industry partners fill a floor of building materials, appliances, home automation and business services. The show runs alongside TAB's own committee and board meetings, so association leaders are in the building. Education comes from the Professional Development Center, hands-on demo sessions, keynotes such as NAHB's chief economist in 2026 and a Podcast Studio, and TAB presents its statewide Star Awards during the show.

Production and custom home builders

Texas builders come to choose products for next year's plans, so they want installed-cost numbers, warranty terms, local distribution and proof the product holds up in Texas heat and storms.

Remodelers and developers

Remodelers look for products that shorten a job and developers for systems that work across a community, so both want lead times, crew training and a rep who covers their market.

HBA leaders and association staff

Local home builders association staff and TAB committee members are on site for the summer meetings; they connect suppliers to their members and value sponsors who support the association.

Your Sunbelt Builders Show booth is built in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, or at our Las Vegas hub, shipped to the George R. Brown Convention Center and installed by vetted local labor with our own project manager on the floor. Expect a 30–45-day build for Sunbelt Builders Show, secure storage and a pre-show QA.

New at Sunbelt Builders Show 2027

  1. Moves to Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center

After the 2026 show at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Sunbelt moves to the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Freight carriers, show labor and hotel blocks all change with the building, so last year's San Antonio quotes are no guide. source

  2. Late summer dates instead of July

The 2027 show runs August 30 to September 2, compared with July 22 and 23 in 2026, and ends the week before Labor Day. Exhibitors get about five extra weeks to finish booths, and travel lands in Houston's late-summer heat. source

Rules that shape your booth

Non-exhibiting suppliers pay $1,500+

In 2026 an industry product or service provider without a booth paid $1,500 to $2,000 for a Vendor Show Pass, against a free or $100 builder pass. That makes a booth the natural way in for suppliers, so we build one that earns the spend.

Organizer rule

No attendee lists from TAB

TAB and the show will not release confirmed or verified attendee or exhibitor lists, and warn against anyone selling them. We build badge scanning and a short survey into the counter so your leads come from the booth itself.

Organizer rule

Official hotels only

Sunbelt names its official hotel providers on the show site, and phone hotel offers come from poachers; in 2026 the official hotels were the Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency Riverwalk. We book crew rooms only in the hotels TAB lists for Houston.

02 Booths & pricing for Sunbelt Builders Show 2027

Popular booth sizes at Sunbelt Builders Show

TAB sells Sunbelt space through its Map Your Show booth portal and publishes no booth sizes or rates online. As a regional show of about 200 exhibitors, compact inline booths are common, with a few islands for builders' bigger suppliers. We recommend a 10×20 that shows product installed, plus pre-set builder meetings.

04 Designing for building material, appliance, home technology and business-service companies selling to Texas home builders at Sunbelt Builders Show

Four things we get right for Sunbelt Builders Show exhibitors

Carpenter holding a cordless drill beside a timber house frame by a lake1

Show the product inside a Texas house

Sunbelt buyers build for Texas heat, hail and humidity. We build cutaway wall and roof sections that show your product installed with the framing, sheathing and finishes a Texas builder uses, labeled with what it saves in time or callbacks.

Carpenter seated on new wooden roof trusses with tall pines behind2

Bring your own leads

TAB states that it will not release confirmed attendee or exhibitor lists, so the booth has to capture its own leads. We add a badge-scan point at the front counter and a short builder survey on a tablet, so every conversation is recorded.

Two-story house in scaffolding between finished homes on a sunny street3

Court the association floor

TAB holds its committee, council and board meetings during the show, and HBA staff attend on their own pass. We give the booth a seated corner for association leaders and member builders, where a sponsor can host short meetings.

Two-story framed house with OSB sheathing, porch posts and a black fence on a new street4

Ship once to the GRB dock

The George R. Brown is not connected to Houston's downtown tunnel system, so freight goes to the center's own docks, not a hotel. We crate the booth for the dock, and since Texas rules let your own staff help assemble, we send a flat-packed build to keep drayage down.

Where you could be at Sunbelt Builders Show 2027

TAB has not published which GRB halls Sunbelt 2027 uses. These are the halls this building uses, from Purple's George R. Brown venue guide.

AHalls A to E, Level 1
BHalls A3 and B3, Level 2
CDocks and skywalk
George R. Brown Convention Center, HoustonSchematic, not to scale
A

Halls A to E, Level 1

Column-free halls of about 125,000 to 130,000 sq ft each; Halls B, C and D typically hold trade shows of 300 to 600 booths.

Our advice A show of about 200 exhibitors fits one or two Level 1 halls, so aisles are short and every booth gets traffic; we still design to be seen from the entrance.

B

Halls A3 and B3, Level 2

About 223,000 sq ft combined on the upper level, often used by association shows and secondary exhibits.

Our advice If the show is assigned upstairs, freight routes differ; we confirm the level before planning crates and delivery times.

C

Docks and skywalk

The GRB's own loading docks reach both floors and are run apart from the attached Hilton's; the building has no link to the downtown tunnels.

Our advice Ship to the GRB dock, never the hotel; we label crates for the dock and schedule the delivery window.

05 George R. Brown Convention Center · Houston

Logistics for Sunbelt Builders Show 2027, handled

Sunbelt 2027 moves to the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, a two-level building with Halls A through E on Level 1 and Halls A3 and B3 on Level 2, connected by skywalk to the 1,200-room Hilton Americas-Houston. Because Texas has no union-only rule for booth assembly, company staff can put up even a large island themselves; only the dock-to-booth move belongs to the show's exclusive contractor. Purple's planning figure for GRB material handling comes to roughly $95 a hundredweight, billed on at least 200 pounds. We ship flat-packed, file the contractor orders and run the install with our project manager.

Sunbelt Builders Show exhibitors can find this building's hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines in our George R. Brown Convention Center exhibitor guide.

What Purple handles

  • Cutaway wall and roof sections built like a Texas home
  • Kitchen, bath and smart-home vignettes
  • Flat-packed builds your own staff can help assemble
  • Lead capture at the counter, since TAB shares no lists
  • Freight to the GRB docks and contractor orders
  • Reuse for IBS, KBIS and regional builder shows

Sunbelt Builders Show exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before Sunbelt Builders Show

When is the Sunbelt Builders Show 2027?

Sunbelt 2027 runs August 30 to September 2, 2027, per the show's website. Daily exhibit hall dates and hours are not confirmed yet; in 2026 the show had two full days of exhibits, July 22–23. TAB's Star Awards ceremony is set for September 1, 2027.

Where is the Sunbelt Builders Show 2027 held?

Sunbelt 2027 is at Houston's George R. Brown, at 1001 Avenida De Las Americas, downtown. Last year's 25th show was in San Antonio, and the show has also been hosted in Dallas-Fort Worth. METRORail's Convention District station stops at the GRB.

How much does a booth at the Sunbelt Builders Show cost?

Sunbelt 2027 booth space rates are not confirmed yet; TAB sells space through its Map Your Show booth portal. Beyond the space itself, a Purple 10×20 rental usually costs $7,500 to $15,000; vignettes, appliances and live smart-home demos move the number most.

How many people attend the Sunbelt Builders Show?

Sunbelt 2026 in San Antonio brought builders, remodelers and developers together with 200+ industry partners, per TAB, and more than 5,000 companies have exhibited over the show's 25 years; a total attendance figure is not confirmed yet. Exhibitors are building materials, appliances, home automation and professional business services.

Who organizes the Sunbelt Builders Show?

The Texas Association of Builders, founded in 1946 and affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders, runs the show from Austin. TAB has 27 local home builders associations and nearly 10,000 members, and holds its summer committee and board meetings alongside the show.

Who can attend the Sunbelt Builders Show?

In 2026 the Builder Show Pass for builders, developers, remodelers, architects and designers was free in May and $100 to $150 later; TAB associate members paid $500 to $750, and non-exhibiting product or service providers paid $1,500 to $2,000 for a Vendor Show Pass. 2027 fees are not confirmed yet.

Can we set up our own booth at the George R. Brown Convention Center?

Houston sits under Texas right-to-work law, which means your own people may assemble the exhibit whatever its size, a contrast with Chicago or New Jersey halls. Moving crates from the dock to your space is still the exclusive contractor's job.

What does drayage cost at the George R. Brown?

Sunbelt's 2027 tariff is not confirmed yet. Purple's planning figure for GRB material handling comes to roughly $95 a hundredweight, billed on at least 200 pounds, plus surcharges for late, off-target or uncrated freight. A flat-packed booth keeps the weight, and the bill, down.

What are the TAB Star Awards?

The Star Awards are TAB's statewide homebuilding awards for residential construction, design and marketing, with 100+ categories and 1,100+ entries in 2026. For 2027, entries open December 1, early-bird pricing ends January 31, final submissions close April 2, and the ceremony is September 1 at the Marriott Marquis Houston.

Does TAB sell attendee lists for Sunbelt?

TAB states that it will not release confirmed or verified attendee or exhibitor lists and asks exhibitors not to pay anyone offering them; phone hotel offers come from poachers. Plan to collect leads in the booth with badge scans and a short builder survey.

Where should our team stay for Sunbelt 2027?

TAB names its official hotels on the show site; the 2027 Houston hotels are not confirmed yet. Purple's venue notes show the Hilton Americas-Houston connected to the GRB by skywalk and the Marriott Marquis Houston, the Star Awards venue, a five-minute walk away.

When should we decide on a Sunbelt 2027 booth?

Reserve space as soon as TAB opens 2027 booth sales. Custom work starts from an approved design in mid-June 2027, roughly ten weeks ahead of move-in, while a rental can still be confirmed in July.

Can we reuse a Sunbelt booth at other builder shows?

A cutaway-section booth from Houston works again at IBS and KBIS in Las Vegas, the Southwest Flooring Market and other regional builder events. We store it between shows and swap graphics so the Texas message becomes a national one.

Before you sign for Sunbelt Builders Show

Ask any Sunbelt Builders Show exhibit builder these five questions:

  1. Will the proposal show every Sunbelt Builders Show fee, including show contractor charges?
  2. Is the booth built in your own shop or by a subcontractor?
  3. Does your project manager stay on the floor through install and dismantle in Houston?
  4. What does the rental include, and what is billed by Sunbelt Builders Show?
  5. What happens to the booth after Sunbelt Builders Show, and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? Bring it: we refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it at Sunbelt Builders Show and store it until the next show. You keep the structure you paid for and bring it to Sunbelt Builders Show.
