Boots, hats and tack under an 8-foot drape: WESA 2027 booths in Dallas

Western stores, tack shops and English riding retailers come to WESA to write boot, hat, apparel and saddle orders, so the booth has to carry heavy product cleanly below the drape line. WESA rules keep every item under 8 feet and every crate out of sight until the Friday close.

  • Jan 19–22 · Dallas Market Ctr
  • 600+ lines, 3,400+ retailers
  • WESA founded 1921

What makes WESA Dallas different, and how we build for it

WESA is a members' market: the Western & English Sales Association, founded by seven Denver sales reps in 1921, has run its trade show for more than a century and moved it to Dallas Market Center in 2021.Temporary space goes to WESA members by availability, seniority points and membership date, beside the largest collection of permanent western and English showrooms in North America on World Trade Center Floors 10 and 14. Lines range from boots and hats to tack, animal health and equestrian gifts, and the January 2027 product line list runs from Ariat International and Lucchese Bootmaker to Circle Y Saddles and Horseware Ireland. AETA's English equestrian show runs the same four days on the same campus.

Western wear and boot store owners

Boots they can pick up and flex, a full size scale on the wall, hats shown on proper stands, and program terms for reorders through the spring rodeo season.

Tack, feed and ranch supply retailers

Saddles and tack they can inspect up close, animal health product with clear case packs, and a rep who knows freight minimums for heavy goods.

English riding and equestrian shops

Helmets, breeches, blankets and grooming lines shown together by discipline, with fit details and sizing charts, often split between WESA and AETA floors.

Your team in Dallas

One project manager, two shops, the whole WESA Dallas build

Production happens in our own shop in Fishkill, NY, and at our Las Vegas hub, and we ship to the Dallas Market Center and install with vetted local labor, led by our own project manager on the floor. A predictable 30–45-day turnaround, secure storage and a pre-show QA before WESA Dallas.

At WESA Dallas, your team walks into a booth that is lit and stocked. You just show up.

Rules that shape your WESA Dallas booth

Nothing above the 8-foot drape

WESA Rule 10 bars displaying any product above the 8-foot drape height and keeps all displays inside the contracted space. Our boot walls and hat bars top out below 8 feet and carry a lit header inside the line.

Organizer rule

Leave the pipe and drape alone

Rule 11 forbids altering the initial pipe-and-drape setup in any way that affects its structure and urges caution attaching displays to it. We build saddle stands, boot walls and racks that stand on their own bases.

Organizer rule

Intact until close, no boxes showing

Rule 12 keeps every space as displayed at opening until the official close, with no boxes, cartons or crates visible, under a $1,000 penalty and/or loss of space. We design closed storage so nothing shows before 3 p.m. Friday.

Organizer rule

Insurance naming WESA

Rule 8 requires members to insure their property against theft and damage and to provide insurance naming WESA as additional insured. We send our certificate with the build schedule so the install is cleared before move-in.

Organizer rule

Order taking only, no sale signs

WESA shows are order-taking venues with no cash and carry, and Rule 13 bans 'samples for sale' or 'cash and carry' signs. Our graphics carry brand and category, and the counter is built for writing orders.

Popular booth sizes at WESA Dallas

WESA assigns temporary space to members inside a pipe-and-drape layout, and nothing may stand above the 8-foot drape or outside the contracted space. Larger brands hold permanent showrooms on WTC Floors 10 and 14. We build freestanding boot walls, hat and saddle stands within those limits, and showroom fixtures.

04 Designing for western and English apparel, boot, hat, tack and equestrian brands at WESA Dallas

Four things we get right for WESA Dallas exhibitors

Tooled western saddle with fleece lining on a brown horse, a hand resting on the seat1

Everything below the drape line

WESA Rule 10 bars any product above the 8-foot drape height. We build boot walls and hat bars that top out under 8 feet, put the brand on a lit header inside that line, and use depth rather than height to show more pairs.

Girths and saddle pads hanging on numbered hooks on a wooden tack room wall2

Heavy goods need freestanding fixtures

WESA forbids altering the pipe-and-drape setup and warns against hanging displays on it. Saddles, boots and tack are heavy, so every wall, rack and saddle stand we build stands on its own base and never loads the drape.

Man in a red shirt reaching for a hat on a wall of felt and straw hats in a hat shop3

Hide the crates until Friday

Under Rule 12 your space must look as it did at opening until the official close, with no boxes or crates in sight, or face a $1,000 penalty. We build storage into the booth so packing materials stay out of view until 3 p.m. Friday.

Hands buckling a leather bridle on a dark brown horse's head4

Show the whole size scale

Western retailers order boots by size run and width. We plan shelving so a full scale of a hero style sits on the wall at hand height, with try-on seating inside your space, because WESA keeps aisles and common areas off limits.

Where you could be at WESA Dallas 2027

WESA spreads across the Dallas Market Center campus: its January 2027 floor plans cover eight World Trade Center floors plus the Interior Home + Design Center and the Trade Mart, with permanent showrooms on other WTC floors.

A

WTC Floors 10 and 14: western and English showrooms

Per DMC, the largest collection of permanent showrooms dedicated to western and English apparel, accessories, footwear and tack in North America.

Our advice Retailers walk the showrooms first; temporary booths that show a clear category, boots or tack, get the follow-on visit.

B

WTC temporary floors

WESA's January 2027 plans list WTC Floors 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 14 and 15, with member spaces in a pipe-and-drape layout and product kept under the 8-foot drape.

Our advice Every fixture we build stands on its own base, since WESA bars altering the pipe and drape or loading it.

C

IHDC Floor 2 and Trade Mart Floor 1

WESA also publishes plans for Floor 2 of the Interior Home + Design Center and Floor 1 of the Trade Mart, across the connected campus.

Our advice If your space lands outside the WTC, we ship to that building's dock and size crates to its own freight limits.

WESA Dallas exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before WESA Dallas

When is the WESA show in 2027?

The January market runs January 19–22, 2027, with doors at 8:30 each morning, a 6 p.m. close on the first three days and a 3 p.m. finish Friday. WESA's second 2027 market is August 24–27, 2027, also at Dallas Market Center, per DMC's calendar.

Where is the WESA market held?

At Dallas Market Center, 2100 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas. WESA's January 2027 floor plans cover several World Trade Center floors plus space in the Interior Home + Design Center and Trade Mart, and permanent western and English showrooms fill WTC Floors 10 and 14.

Who can exhibit at WESA?

Temporary space goes to WESA members, Individual, Company, Associate or Affiliate, who submit a separate exhibitor contract for each show. Membership alone does not guarantee space; WESA assigns it by availability, then seniority points, then date of membership, and dues keep points alive.

When did the January 2027 WESA contract open?

WESA put the January 2027 exhibitor contract online on August 1, 2026, with deadlines typically six to eight weeks after a contract opens, so January space is already contracted. For the August 24–27, 2027 market, we start design as soon as your contract and space assignment are in.

How tall can a WESA booth be?

Product may not be displayed above the 8-foot drape height, and everything must fit the contracted space, under WESA Rule 10. We design boot walls, hat bars and lit headers that stop under 8 feet, and gain capacity with depth and shelving.

Can we sell boots or tack off the floor at WESA?

WESA shows are order-taking only, with no cash and carry, and signs such as 'samples for sale' are banned. Bring samples and take orders inside your contracted space; soliciting in aisles or doorways counts as buttonholing and is not allowed.

Can we share a WESA booth with another brand?

Subletting is prohibited. Sharing is allowed only when every member lists the same companies or lines as the assigned member; violations cost $5,000 and loss of temporary space for two consecutive January or August shows, under WESA Rule 21.

When can we pack up at WESA?

Teardown starts at the official close, 3 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2027. WESA Rule 12 keeps the space as displayed at opening, with no boxes or crates visible, until then; early packing can bring a $1,000 penalty and loss of space or location.

Do we need insurance to exhibit at WESA?

WESA Rule 8 requires members to insure their own property against theft and damage, and to provide insurance naming WESA as additional insured for bodily injury, loss or damage. We file Purple's certificate for the build alongside yours.

How many retailers attend WESA?

WESA says its shows draw more than 3,400 retailers and 600 product lines a year across January and August; Dallas Market Center's WESA page cites 3,700+ retailers and 550+ lines. DMC's September 1, 2026 release put WESA buyers at roughly a quarter of all buyers across the August 2026 markets.

Who exhibits at WESA?

Western and English apparel, footwear, headwear, accessories, tack and equipment, animal health and grooming, home décor and gifts, and trade supplies. The January 2027 product line list includes Ariat International, Wrangler, Lucchese Bootmaker, Stetson Hat Co., Circle Y Saddles and Horseware Ireland.

Is WESA open to the public?

The WESA Trade Show is trade only. Qualified retail buyers register in advance and may bring two guests, who cannot buy; children are welcome. Exhibitors and their staff receive no guest passes, and cameras need the exhibiting member's consent.

Can we play music or run a demo at WESA?

Sound audible beyond your space is prohibited under Rule 17, displays must relate to the products sold in that space, and crowd-drawing events off the floor during show hours are banned. Product demos inside the booth at conversation volume work well.

Where do WESA exhibitors park trailers and stay?

WESA's venue page lists trailer parking in Lot C and at WTC Dock 1, valet by signage and accessible parking in front of the Trade Mart. Dallas Market Center books discounted hotel rooms through Connections Housing; DAL and DFW are the nearest airports.

Ask these before you sign

  4. For WESA Dallas, what is in the rental and what is billed by the show?
