AHA Scientific Sessions 2027 in Boston: open-sided booths for cardiology

We design Sessions booths so a cardiologist sees the device, the evidence and its FDA status in one pass, with islands kept 40 percent see-through as AHA requires. In Boston, where Teamsters and IBEW electricians hold the building's jurisdictions, we file AHA's EAC notice and insurance certificate before its firm cutoff.

  • 12,700+ attendees in 2025

What makes AHA Scientific Sessions different, and how we build for it

Scientific Sessions is the American Heart Association's own cardiology meeting, and its exhibit floor, the Science & Technology Hall, is built into the science. In 2026 AHA placed moderated digital posters, Heart Theaters, CardioTalk Theaters, the Simulation Zone and the Health Innovation Pavilion inside the hall and scheduled 12-plus hours of exhibit time with limited competing education. The 2027 meeting moves to Boston and shares its November 5–8 dates with the Resuscitation Science Symposium. The crowd is clinical and academic: in 2025, 49 percent of attendees were physicians and 23 percent scientists, and AHA lets you show only the products listed on your space application.

General and interventional cardiologists

The device or platform in hand during a break between sessions, the trial evidence on a panel at eye level, and a clinical specialist who answers in clinical terms.

Cardiovascular scientists and researchers

Assay, imaging and lab tools explained at the level of methods and specifications, a screen showing real data output, and time to talk without a script.

Heart failure, electrophysiology and care-team leaders

Workflow fit, training and service details for their own program, and a seated corner to compare notes after a long morning of late-breaking science.

Your team in Boston

Two shops, one project manager, every hall

We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC), and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.

Rules that shape your booth

Islands stay 40 percent see-through

Island structures may reach 20 feet but must stay 40 percent see-through from the floor to at least 8 feet, and AHA reviews diagrams for islands of 400 square feet or more (2026 guidelines). We draw glass and open framing into the island and submit the diagram for approval.

Organizer rule

Hanging signs only over 20×20 islands

AHA allows hanging signs only over islands of 400 square feet or more, to 20 feet, with integral lighting and Freeman doing all rigging in 2026. Written notice is due five weeks before move-in, so we send it with the rigging drawing and ship the sign separately.

Organizer rule

Unapproved devices say so on the booth

Products regulated by the FDA must meet its guidelines or be approved, and companies without approval must clearly mark them for display and education only, not approved or available in the U.S. We print that line on the product panel at reading height.

Organizer rule

Giveaways follow AMA guidelines

Every giveaway goes to AHA for approval through the exhibitor service kit under the AMA ethical guidelines, and an approved drawing must offer a modest prize, be open to all and be drawn after the conference ends. We design lead capture that works without a prize.

Organizer rule

Demo tables three feet back

Demonstration tables sit at least 3 feet from the aisle, AHA can stop any demo whose crowd blocks the aisle, and sound should stay under 85 decibels measured from the aisle (2026 guidelines). We set stations deep in the booth with a landing zone and aim speakers inward.

02 Booths & pricing for AHA Scientific Sessions 2027

Popular booth sizes at AHA Scientific Sessions

AHA prices space by the square foot with no island or corner premium, so 10×20 inlines sit beside large device-company islands, and in 2026 the Health Innovation Pavilion sold turnkey pods. We recommend a 10×20 for one hero device, and an island of 400 square feet once a hanging sign or meeting room is needed.

Pixee Medical at a medical technology congress

A focused, demo-first booth for augmented-reality surgical guidance, built so every visitor could try the technology while traffic kept moving.

At Pixee Medical we built a booth where every visitor could try the surgical guidance while traffic kept moving; AHA's 3-foot demo setback asks for that same demo-first plan.

Four things we get right for AHA Scientific Sessions exhibitors

Macro close-up of a human eye showing the green iris and pupil1

Staff for the midday break

In 2026 AHA set aside 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on every hall day as a break, the longest stretch without competing sessions, and short coffee breaks morning and afternoon. We size the counter run, demo positions and lead-scan point for that midday wave so the line clears before the afternoon sessions call people back.

2

Draw the see-through into islands

AHA requires islands to stay 40 percent see-through from the floor up to 8 feet, and meeting rooms, storage and video walls on 400-square-foot islands may not exceed 40 percent of the booth dimensions. We build with glass, open frames and perforated panels so the room still reads as private.

3

Print FDA status into the panel

AHA's rules require booths showing a product without FDA approval to state that it is for display and education only and not approved or available in the U.S. We set that line in the same type system as the product panel, at reading height, instead of a card taped on at move-in.

4

Demo imaging on a phantom

AHA discourages using people as models for ultrasound demonstrations and wants demo tables 3 feet from the aisle. For echo and imaging systems we build a phantom station set back inside your space, with a large monitor feed so a second row of cardiologists can follow the scan.

05 Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) · Boston

Logistics for AHA Scientific Sessions 2027, handled

Boston is a union market: the Menino center's agreements give the Teamsters and IBEW electricians move-in, installation and move-out, and forklifts belong to the general contractor's crew, while MCCA guidelines still let your full-time staff assemble the booth with power tools. AHA treats exhibitor-appointed contractor deadlines as firm: we file its Notification of Use form and an insurance certificate, or no outside labor works your booth. AHA's official contractor rigs every hanging sign (Freeman in 2026), so we send that notice five weeks out and ship the sign in its own crate. Boston drayage runs above $300 per hundredweight, so we weigh and consolidate before we quote.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Boston Convention & Exhibition Center exhibitor guide.

Hall guide

The Menino center's exhibit floor is 516,000 contiguous, nearly column-free square feet, and AHA builds its Science & Technology Hall inside the halls this building uses. In 2026 the hall held these areas, and each one shapes a booth differently.

Exhibit floor, 516,000 sq ft

Contiguous, nearly column-free space on one level, per Signature Boston; the building adds 82 meeting rooms and a 40,020-square-foot Grand Ballroom overlooking the Seaport.

Our advice: Few columns means island layouts follow your demo flow, though AHA's floor plan can still set lower sign heights in places, so we draw to your assigned spot.

Science & Technology Hall

AHA's name for its exhibit floor. In 2026 it held moderated digital posters, Heart Theaters, CardioTalk Theaters, the Simulation Zone and free coffee breaks.

Our advice: Posters and coffee pull clinicians onto the floor in waves, so we keep a clear landing zone at the aisle and a demo that works in five minutes.

Health Innovation Pavilion

The 2026 hub for AI and digital health inside the hall, home to the Health Tech Competition, with turnkey pods and booths sold through the exhibitor portal.

Our advice: A turnkey pod comes with furniture and a monitor; we add branded graphics, a lit product riser and a demo loop sized to its footprint.

Learning Labs

Fully enclosed, carpeted rooms in the hall from 20×20 to 30×30 in 2026, seating 30 to 50, with no microphones or sound amplification allowed.

Our advice: AHA's fee leaves out furniture, power and AV, so we supply seating, an unamplified presenter setup and wall graphics carrying your program schedule.

What Purple handles

  • Island diagrams, engineer stamps and AHA booth design approval
  • EAC Notification of Use and the insurance certificate
  • Hanging-sign notice, rigging drawings and the separate sign shipment
  • FDA status lines and approved claims printed in our shop
  • Crates to the official contractor's advance warehouse and the weight tickets behind each drayage bill
  • Our own project manager on the Menino floor from move-in to the last crate out

Timeline, counted back from move-in

We need design sign-off by late August 2027.

  1. Late August 2027Design sign-off; island diagrams and structural engineer stamps for anything over 10 feet prepared for AHA's booth design approval.
  2. September 2027Production in our Fishkill, NY shop; graphics proofed against your approved claims and FDA status lines.
  3. Five weeks before move-inWritten hanging-sign notice to AHA and its official contractor; EAC Notification of Use and insurance certificate filed.
  4. About 3 weeks before move-inBooth crates ship to the official contractor's advance warehouse; the hanging sign travels separately to arrive a week before the first move-in day.
  5. Days before November 5, 2027Move-in in Boston with our own project manager and vetted local labor; demo stations, monitor feeds and labels checked before opening.
  6. November 5–8, 2027Scientific Sessions in Boston; after the hall closes we dismantle and send the booth to storage or your next cardiology meeting.

Purple planning timeline. Official move-in, freight target and order deadlines come from your exhibitor kit and assigned schedule; we confirm them against your booth when you book.

AHA Scientific Sessions exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before AHA Scientific Sessions

How much does a booth at AHA Scientific Sessions 2027 cost?

For a first Sessions, the tier that fits is usually a 10×20 inline: rentals run $7,500 to $15,000 and custom builds $15,000 to $45,000, while a custom 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000. See-through structure, imaging monitor feeds and Boston labor move the number. AHA bills space on top, $48 per square foot in 2026, or $9,600 for a 10×20.

What is the deadline to order a booth for AHA Scientific Sessions 2027?

For the 2026 meeting, AHA wanted booth layouts for approval and early move-in requests by September 12, and Freeman's discount closed October 6, about a month before move-in. We plan Boston on the same rhythm, so we need your design signed off by late August 2027 to build in 30 to 45 days and file every form on time.

Can we rent a booth for AHA Scientific Sessions, and what does a rental include?

A Purple rental comes with the frame, fabric graphics with your FDA status lines printed in, lighting, a device counter with a monitor mount and lockable storage, with shipping, setup and teardown priced together on one fixed proposal. On a rented island we keep the walls open enough to meet AHA's see-through rule. After Boston the hardware returns to us.

Can we set up our own booth at the Menino Convention & Exhibition Center?

Yes, with your own full-time employees. MCCA guidelines for the Menino center let them unpack, assemble and dismantle the booth with power tools, while forklifts stay with the general contractor's union crew and AHA's kit can set tighter limits. Any outside installer also needs AHA's EAC Notification of Use form and proof of insurance on file before its firm deadline, which we file for you.

Can we hang a sign over our booth at AHA Scientific Sessions?

Only over an island of 20×20 or larger; AHA allows none over inline or perimeter booths. The sign tops out at 20 feet, lighting must be built into it, and the official contractor (Freeman in 2026) installs every hanging piece. AHA wants written notice five weeks before move-in and the sign delivered a week before the first move-in day, so we send both.

What does drayage cost in Boston, and who pays it?

You pay it, billed by weight by the show's material handler. Purple's Boston venue guide uses a published 2026 kit for this building: $323.95 per hundredweight for crates through the advance warehouse and $360.23 crated direct to the hall, 200-pound minimum. AHA's own kit sets your rate, so we consolidate device crates with the booth and put the estimate on the proposal.

Can we show a device that is not yet FDA approved at AHA Scientific Sessions?

AHA's rules require FDA-regulated products to meet FDA guidelines or be approved, and a company without approval must mark the product as for display and education only, not approved or available in the U.S. Every product also has to be listed on your space application. We print the required line on the product panel and keep it there all show.

Can we run a raffle or hand out giveaways at AHA Scientific Sessions?

Games of chance that make people pay are banned. With AHA's prior approval you may hold a drawing for a modest prize open to every attendee, drawn after the conference closes. Giveaways follow the AMA ethical guidelines and each item is submitted for approval through the exhibitor service kit, so we build a lead counter that does not depend on a prize.

Can we reuse our AHA booth at other cardiology meetings?

We build Sessions booths in modules so the same structure can follow you to ACC.27 in Houston, Heart Rhythm or TCT in San Francisco with new graphics. Between meetings it sits in our storage, the FDA status lines get updated as your clearances change, and we ship it to whichever advance warehouse the next show names.

When is AHA Scientific Sessions 2027?

Scientific Sessions 2027 runs Friday, November 5 to Monday, November 8, 2027, at the Menino center in Boston, and the Resuscitation Science Symposium shares those dates. Science & Technology Hall days for 2027 are not confirmed yet. In Chicago in 2026 the hall ran Saturday to Monday, November 7 to 9, closing at 3 p.m. on the last day.

Where is AHA Scientific Sessions 2027 held?

In Boston's Seaport, at 415 Summer Street: the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, the building exhibitors long knew as the BCEC. Logan International is about eight minutes away by taxi, and the Silver Line's World Trade Center stop sits across from the building. AHA lists the 2028 meeting in New Orleans, November 10–13.

How many people attend AHA Scientific Sessions?

AHA counted 12,700+ total attendees at Scientific Sessions 2025 in New Orleans, 10,400+ of them professionals, with physicians at 49 percent and scientists at 23 percent. The 2024 meeting in Chicago drew 12,900+, the 2023 meeting in Philadelphia 12,900 and the 2022 Chicago meeting 12,000+.

Is AHA Scientific Sessions open to the public?

It is a professional meeting run by the American Heart Association. Exhibitors receive unlimited Exhibit-Only badges for booth staff, and Guest of Exhibitor badges let invited customers into the Science & Technology Hall during open hours. No one under 18 attends conference activities unless AHA grants a written exception, and none may enter during move-in or move-out.

Before you sign with anyone

Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for AHA Scientific Sessions:

  1. Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
  2. Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
  3. Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
  4. What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
  5. Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
