AANS 2027 booth design & build in San Diego
Custom and rental exhibits for navigation, imaging, implant and instrument companies, built so a neurosurgeon sees the system and the screen in one view. Purple designs it, builds it, files the contractor orders and installs it on the union floor at the San Diego Convention Center.

What makes AANS different, and how we build for it
AANS is the one meeting where all of neurosurgery walks a single hall for three days. The 2027 theme is Navigating the Impossible, and the scientific program is anchored by named lectures that pull the whole specialty into the building: the Cushing Orator, the Rhoton Family Lecture, the Van Wagenen Lecture and the Charles L. Plante Lecture. Exhibit space sells in 10×10 units with three exhibitor badges each, and exhibitor registration opens in January. Housing runs through OnPeak with a March 4, 2027 deadline, so hotel rooms near the hall go early. Visitors range from department chairs to residents and medical students, so a booth has to show a system fast and explain it slowly.
A direct route to the instrument, image or configuration behind their question, a workstation with the real controls, and a specialist who can go deep while the booth stays open to new arrivals.
A system diagram that links the hardware to the screen, room to stand and follow a demo already in progress, and supervised hands-on time with instruments and interfaces.
A separate surface for configuration, accessories, training and service questions, with a planning pack they can take back to the hospital.

Booth options for AANS 2027
Pick a footprint. We’ll price it as a rental, a custom build, or a hybrid.
AANS sells space in 10×10 units, and most of the floor is inline booths from instrument, implant and software companies, with islands from the navigation, microscope and robotics leaders. Purple clients at AANS usually land between a 10×20 with one demo station and a 20×20 island with a hanging sign and a consultation corner.

One compact system or instrument family on a single station, a focused back wall graphic and lockable storage for reserve samples.

A navigation or imaging demo at one end with the real controls, an implant and instrument case at the other, and two chairs for a follow-up conversation.
See 10×20 rental booths →
A microscope, robot or integrated platform with a clear observer position, a second station for implants, a hanging sign and a semi-enclosed consultation corner.
See 20×20 rental booths →
Several product families around a shared welcome point, a small presentation area, private meeting space for hospital buyers and back-of-house storage for equipment cases.
See 20×30 rental booths →All-in 2026 ranges for design, structure, graphics, installation and dismantle; booth space, drayage and show services are separate. A custom-built booth runs roughly $100 to $250 per square foot depending on finish level. A rental of the same footprint usually lands at 35 to 50 percent of the purchase price for one show. Designing for neurosurgical device and technology companies at AANS
Four things we get right for AANS exhibitors

One principal screen, subordinate secondaries
Choose the one visual output that carries the demo and make every other screen serve it. We test text and image detail from the standing observer position, keep decorative motion off the surfaces a surgeon is examining, and run a dependable signal path with a prepared fallback.

Fixture each component to show its feature
Implants and instruments are small, so we build fixtures that hold each piece in the orientation that reveals its relevant detail, with consistent labels and magnified imagery beside it. Reserve samples live in organized lockable storage so the display stays complete for all three days.
Start with real weights and clearances
Microscopes, robots and imaging carts drive the structure, the freight and the floor loading. We take your equipment inventory with weights and clearances first, then design a simplified physical arrangement with clear diagrams instead of a crowded replica of an operating room.
A conversation edge that stays open
A stable surface for annotated diagrams and literature, seating where the footprint allows, and screens for one-to-one talks angled away from the aisle. Demo content carries no identifiable patient information, and the welcome position stays staffed while specialists go deep.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this
You see the booth in 3D before we cut a single panel: layout, graphics, lighting and product positions, revised until it is right. Shown: a Purple concept for Legacy of Excellence.

Logistics for AANS 2027, handled
The San Diego Convention Center runs a union floor, so installation and dismantle are union work under the show's contractor agreements, and AANS gives exhibitors an April 5–12, 2027 installation and dismantle window around the April 9–11 exhibit days. We read the exhibitor kit, file the forms, book your target dates, ship to the advance warehouse and plan drayage at about $176 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum. Our Southern California crew installs and dismantles. San Diego International is a 10–15-minute drive, the San Diego Trolley stops a few blocks away, and the Marriott Marquis, the Manchester Grand Hyatt and the Gaslamp Quarter hotels are within a walk of the hall.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our San Diego Convention Center exhibitor guide.

AANS exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before AANS
How much does a 20×20 booth at AANS cost?
A 20×20 custom island for AANS runs $50,000 to $120,000 all in for design, structure, graphics and installation, and a 20×20 rental island $16,000 to $40,000. Demo stations with real equipment and lockable instrument cases move the number. Send us the inventory and footprint and we return a fixed quote.
Can you install at the San Diego Convention Center?
Yes. It is a union floor, so our Southern California crew works under the show's contractor agreements, sets the structure, mounts screens and fixtures, and levels every equipment station before your specialists arrive. We manage the April 5–12 installation and dismantle window around the April 9–11 exhibit days.
Can we rent a booth for AANS?
Yes. A 10×10 rental runs $3,500 to $8,000 and a 10×20 rental $7,500 to $15,000, with your graphics and custom fixtures for instruments where needed. Many first-time AANS exhibitors rent the structure and invest in one built demo station they reuse at other meetings.
When do we need to decide?
Design sign-off by late January 2027 gives a 30–45-day build and a mid-March ship to the advance warehouse. Early bird attendee registration ends January 7, 2027 and the OnPeak housing deadline is March 4, 2027, so the booth decision sits comfortably alongside your team's travel plans.
Do you handle contractor orders and drayage at AANS?
Yes. We read the exhibitor kit, order material handling, electrical and rigging from the show contractor, file the organizer forms that concern the booth, and plan drayage at about $176 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum. You stay copied on every deadline and every order.
