What makes AMP Annual Meeting & Expo different, and how we build for it
AMP admits only exhibitors whose products relate directly to molecular diagnostics and genomics research, so every booth on the floor competes for the same lab budget. The Association for Molecular Pathology puts the science inside the Expo Hall: in 2026 scientific posters ran throughout the hall, three Innovation Spotlight Stages sat at its center, and AMP Central, the general lunches and the Welcome Reception all drew attendees onto the floor. In 2026 Corporate Workshop Day filled the Wednesday before the official start with 50-minute exhibitor sessions anyone could attend free. Exhibiting and sponsoring earn loyalty credits that count when a company selects its booth for the following year's meeting.
Assay menu, validation data, turnaround and how the platform fits a CLIA lab's existing workflow, plus a straight answer on coding and reimbursement before they take it to a capital committee.
Hands-on time with the instrument or software: loading, run time, hands-off time, the bioinformatics pipeline and the report a clinician will read, walked through by someone who has run it.
Footprint, power and service terms, reagent pricing per sample, staffing impact and LIS integration, with a seat and a spec sheet they can carry back to the lab.

Inside AMP Annual Meeting & Expo 2027
Rules that shape your booth
AMP caps island structures at 16 feet and hanging signs at 20 feet, and every island files a layout drawing with signage and entrances; in 2026 it was due August 3. We draw to those limits and send the drawing with your sign-off.
Inline booths of any length keep the 8-foot maximum to the rear half, with all material in the front half under 4 feet, and AMP can ask for a layout drawing from any booth over 10×10 (2026 rules). We set instruments and screens against the back wall.
Every giveaway must be useful to attendees' professional work, worth $10 or less and open to all attendees, and any prize drawing takes place after the meeting ends (2026 rules). We design lab-useful leave-behinds and build a lead-capture counter for drawing entries.
Booth sound stays at or under 65 decibels with speakers aimed inward, and any music needs proof of ASCAP, BMI or SESAC licensing shown to AMP Show Management (2026 rules). We build silent-capable video loops and headphone stations.
During Expo Hall hours only AMP's official photographer and AV vendor may photograph or record; exhibitors may shoot inside their own booth outside exhibit hours (2026 rules). We finish the install early enough for your booth photos before the hall opens.
Programs worth planning for
30-minute exhibitor demos, talks and debates on stages in the center of the Expo Hall during meals and breaks; one per company, content approved by AMP. In 2026 a slot cost $6,500 with podium, microphone and monitor.
50-minute sessions for exhibiting companies only, held on Corporate Workshop Day before the official start and free for anyone to attend. In 2026 they cost $5,750 by April 24 and $6,350 after, with up to three per company.
A kiosk on the Expo Hall floor reserved for startups and companies that have never exhibited at AMP. In 2026 it cost $4,000 and included two Expo Hall badges.

Case study · Pixee Medical
Pixee Medical at a medical technology congress
A focused, demo-first booth for augmented-reality surgical guidance, built so every visitor could try the technology while traffic kept moving.
Pixee Medical's booth let every visitor try its surgical guidance while the aisle kept moving; AMP lab scientists also buy by touching the workflow, so that demo-first flow fits.

Four things we get right for AMP Annual Meeting & Expo exhibitors
1Instruments live in the back half
AMP lets inline exhibits reach 8 feet only in the rear half of the booth, with everything forward held to 4 feet (2026 rules). We put the sequencer or analyzer on a counter against the back wall, keep the badge counter low at the aisle and route data cables inside the counter.
Two feet of standing room inside
AMP's rules require at least 2 feet in front of any presentation or demonstration inside the booth, so no one watches from the aisle. We set the instrument demo and the screen showing the variant report far enough back that a small group of lab scientists can gather on your carpet.
Demo at conversation volume
AMP caps booth sound at 65 decibels, about normal conversation, with speakers aimed into the booth (2026 rules). We design the workflow video to read without audio, add headphones at a software station and line the meeting corner with fabric so a reimbursement talk stays audible.
Draw traffic off the poster aisles
AMP spreads its scientific posters through the Expo Hall and serves lunch on the floor, so lab scientists arrive at your booth between posters. We print a data wall that reads like a good poster: method, figure, limit of detection and citation, with a QR code to the full validation study.

Concept rendering
Every proposal comes with a rendering like this

Logistics for AMP Annual Meeting & Expo 2027, handled
The Expo Group was AMP's official services contractor in 2026, taking orders through its online Exhibitor Service Manual. That year AMP wanted the contractor notice and its insurance certificate by September 15, your own certificate naming AMP 30 days before move-in, and full payment before any freight reached the booth. We file all three. Maryland has no right-to-work law, and in Purple's experience at the Baltimore Convention Center, the city's main hall, Carpenters install displays and Teamsters move freight, with only a short allowance for two of your own full-time staff. We pair our project manager with vetted local labor and plan the build to finish well ahead of AMP's show-ready deadline, which in 2026 fell at 10 a.m. on the hall's opening day.
Hall guide
AMP builds its Expo Hall around the program rather than beside it. In Seattle in 2026 the hall held the Innovation Spotlight Stages, the scientific posters, AMP Central and the meeting's lunches.
Three stages set centrally in the 2026 Expo Hall, running 30-minute exhibitor demos, talks and debates during meals and breaks from Thursday to Saturday.
Our advice: If you take a Spotlight slot, we print a hand-out card with your booth number and a matching graphic, so the audience walks straight from the stage to your demo.
AMP places its posters throughout the Expo Hall instead of in a separate room; the 2026 meeting planned more than 500 poster presentations.
Our advice: Lab scientists come to your booth straight from a poster, so we lay out your data wall the same way: question, method, figure and result, readable from four feet.
AMP Central is the society's own hub on the floor. In 2026 general lunches were served in the hall, the Welcome Reception opened it at 6 p.m. Thursday and Saturday brought an Exhibitor Appreciation Lunch.
Our advice: Traffic peaks at lunch and the reception, so we plan two demo positions and a lead-capture counter that one person can run during the quiet afternoon stretch.
Rooms AMP assigns for 50-minute exhibitor workshops on the day before the official start; in 2026 Corporate Workshop Day ran 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, with podium, microphone, laptop, projector and screen included.
Our advice: We build a portable backdrop and counter that dress the workshop room on Wednesday, then move into your booth before the Expo Hall opens.

AMP Annual Meeting & Expo exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before AMP Annual Meeting & Expo
How much does a booth at AMP 2027 cost?
Most AMP exhibitors fit a 10×20: rentals from us run $7,500 to $15,000, while a custom 20×20 island for a sequencer or automation line runs $50,000 to $120,000. Instrument crating, counter power and screens move the number here. AMP bills space on top: a 10×20 inline cost $9,240 at the 2026 advance rate and $10,000 standard.
What is the deadline to book a booth for AMP 2027?
AMP fills its floor first through an initial onsite booth draw. In the 2026 cycle draw participants paid a 25% deposit and the balance by January 30, advance space rates ran to April 24 and island drawings were due August 3. For AMP 2027 we need your design signed off by mid-July 2027.
Can we rent a booth for AMP 2027, and what does a rental include?
A rental from us covers the frame, fabric graphics, lighting, a lab-height instrument counter with a locking cabinet underneath, plus shipping, setup and teardown, priced on one fixed proposal. For an island we finish all four sides, since AMP supplies no pipe and drape there. After Baltimore the rental returns to us, so there is nothing to store.
Can we set up our own booth in Baltimore?
Only a small display. Maryland has no right-to-work law, and in Purple's experience at the Baltimore Convention Center, the city's main hall, two of your full-time employees get about an hour on install and an hour on dismantle before Carpenters take over the display and Teamsters the freight. For a built booth we file AMP's contractor notice and insurance certificate as your exhibitor-appointed contractor.
How tall can our AMP booth be?
AMP's 2026 rules hold island structures to 16 feet and let a hanging sign rise to 20, once AMP approves the drawing. Inlines reach 8 feet only in the back half and stay at 4 feet toward the aisle. Endcaps keep a 10-foot-wide back wall at 8 feet, dropping to 5 feet at the sides.
What does drayage cost for AMP in Baltimore, and who pays it?
You pay it, billed by weight at the official services contractor's tariff once AMP releases the 2027 manual. Until then we budget roughly $140 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum, the figure in Purple's venue guide for the Baltimore Convention Center, the city's main hall. Instruments travel in their own crates, so we weigh them with the booth and show drayage as a separate line on your proposal.
We are a startup. Is there a smaller way into AMP?
AMP offers a Startup/New Company Kiosk to companies that have never exhibited at AMP; in 2026 it cost $4,000 and came with two Expo Hall badges. We build a kiosk kit to match: a branded counter wrap, a tablet stand for your demo and a compact banner, light enough to hand-carry and fit in a checked case.
Can we reuse our AMP booth at other shows?
We build the instrument counters and data walls to reconfigure, so the same booth can work ADLM in Chicago in July, then AMP in November, with new graphics for each audience. ASM Microbe and AACR suit the same kit. Between shows it sits in our storage and ships to the next advance warehouse.
Do you handle the official services contractor's orders for AMP?
Yes. In 2026 AMP named The Expo Group, with orders placed through its online Exhibitor Service Manual. We place carpet, electrical, internet and material handling, and order flooring early: under AMP's 2026 rules, booths with no flooring ordered by 6 p.m. the day before the hall opened were carpeted at the exhibitor's expense.
When is AMP 2027?
The AMP 2027 Annual Meeting & Expo runs Tuesday, November 9 through Saturday, November 13, 2027, in Baltimore. AMP's 2027 Expo Hall days are not confirmed yet. In Seattle in 2026 the Expo Hall was open Thursday, November 12 to Saturday, November 14, the last three days of the meeting, after a day of Corporate Workshops.
Where is AMP 2027 held?
In Baltimore, Maryland, a return to the city that hosted AMP in 2019. The meeting moves around the country each year: Seattle in 2026, Baltimore in 2027 and Honolulu, Hawaii for November 7–11, 2028. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) serves the city.
How many people attend AMP?
AMP says its meeting historically hosts more than 2,200 molecular medicine professionals from around the world, drawn from a society of 3,100+ members. More than half work in academic, commercial or reference labs, and the 2026 meeting planned more than 500 poster presentations.
Who can exhibit at AMP?
AMP accepts exhibitors whose products and services relate directly to molecular diagnostics and genomics research, and it rules on every company and product. Booths may not be shared unless the companies share a parent, and only one company listing goes with each booth. Selling on the floor is banned without written approval; taking orders is allowed.
How do I get a booth at AMP?
Apply through AMP's online Expo Portal; AMP approves each space at its discretion, then payment is due in full. Loyalty credits earned from exhibiting and sponsoring count when you select space for the following year's meeting. Each 10×10 of space brings six Expo Hall badges, with more at $50 each (2026 rates).
Before you sign with anyone
Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for AMP Annual Meeting & Expo:
- Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
- Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
- Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.
Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
