Two hall days, one long lunch: ISC 2027 booths for Houston's stroke teams

We plan International Stroke Conference booths around the hours when stroke teams leave the sessions, so a neurointerventionalist can handle the device and see the imaging in one visit. At the George R. Brown we crate to Freeman's Pleasantville Drive warehouse before its February 1 cutoff and file AHA's EAC forms.

  • Feb 10–11 · George R. Brown
  • 6,700+ attendees in 2026
  • EAC forms due Jan 22

What makes International Stroke Conference different, and how we build for it

ISC belongs to the American Stroke Association, and the Science & Technology Hall, where every exhibitor stands, opens for just two days, February 10 and 11, 2027, eight hours each.AHA programs the hall to pull clinicians in: HeadQuarters as the starting point, Learning Studios with lunches served by the American Stroke Association, the Innovation Zone under its own overhead signage, while in-person registration includes two days in the expanded Simulation Zone and the Neuro Talk Theater. The crowd is narrow and hard to reach elsewhere: AHA's 2026 data counts 43 percent of attendees at no other major scientific meeting, so for many stroke teams this is the one look at your device all year.

Neurointerventionalists and neurosurgeons

The catheter, aspiration system or retriever in their own hands on a benchtop vessel model, deliverability and sizing data at eye level, and a clinical specialist ready to discuss case technique without a script.

Vascular neurologists, emergency and neurocritical care physicians

Imaging software, perfusion and triage tools and telestroke platforms shown on a large screen with real workflow steps, from door to decision, plus a seat to compare notes with their own protocol.

Stroke nurses, coordinators and program leaders

Training, certification support and data tools explained for the people who run a stroke program day to day, with take-away material and a follow-up contact before the hall closes on Thursday.

Your team in Houston

Two shops, one project manager, every hall

We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the George R. Brown Convention Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.

Your team walks into a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.

Rules that shape your booth

Island layouts approved by December 31

Islands of 400 square feet or more, structures over 10 feet and two-story booths need AHA layout approval, due December 31, 2026 for ISC, with an engineer's stamp on anything over 10 feet. We draw, stamp and submit the schematic.

Organizer rule

EAC forms close January 22

Outside installers need a separate EAC Notification of Use per booth and $1 million liability cover naming AHA, the host center and Freeman, due January 22, 2027 with no extensions and matching amounts. We file both with your booth number on each.

Organizer rule

Flooring in by 2 p.m. February 9

The ISC hall at the George R. Brown is bare concrete, AHA requires flooring across every booth, and Freeman sets 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2027 as the install-or-order cutoff before show management carpets and bills. We lay ours on day one of move-in.

Organizer rule

Uncleared devices labeled display-only

Products without FDA approval carry a booth notice that they are shown for display and education only, with no U.S. approval or availability, and AHA may close exhibits that break FDA rules. We print the notice onto the product panel.

Organizer rule

No cameras in the hall

Recording video, audio or photos in the Science & Technology Hall is prohibited; photographing your own booth needs AHA's permission on the Booth Activities Form, due January 22, 2027 for ISC. We file the request so your booth shots are covered.

Popular booth sizes at International Stroke Conference

AHA prices ISC space by the square foot at one rate, and Freeman dresses each 10-foot unit in black drape, 8 feet at the back and 3 at the sides, so inlines sit beside device-company islands. For one product line we suggest a 10×20; move to a 20×20 island once a rigged sign or meeting room is needed.

Pixee Medical at a medical technology congress

A focused, demo-first booth for augmented-reality surgical guidance, built so every visitor could try the technology while traffic kept moving.

At Pixee Medical we built a demo-first booth where every surgeon could try the guidance system while traffic flowed; ISC's two-hour lunch rush asks for the same hands-on plan.

04 Designing for neurovascular device, stroke imaging, telestroke and pharmaceutical companies at International Stroke Conference

Four things we get right for International Stroke Conference exhibitors

Close view of a medical professional's gloved hands holding and demonstrating a catheter1

Staff for the 12:30 lunch break

ISC keeps 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on both hall days nearly free of competing sessions, with three short breaks around it, and the American Stroke Association serves lunch in the hall's Learning Studios. We put every demo position and the lead scanner on the floor plan for that two-hour wave, not for a steady stream.

Axial brain CT scan images displayed on a tablet resting on white bedding2

Demo the device on a model

ISC registration includes two days in the hands-on Simulation Zone, and AHA discourages using people as models for ultrasound scanning. We build benchtop vessel-model and phantom stations 3 feet inside the booth, as AHA's guidelines require, with an overhead camera feeding a screen for the second row.

Woman doctor in a white coat showing brain scans on a tablet to an older man3

Floor down by Tuesday at 2

The George R. Brown hall is not carpeted for ISC, and Freeman wants every booth's flooring installed or ordered by 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2027, or show management lays carpet and bills you. We ship flooring with cable channels for imaging workstations and skip double-padded plush, which AHA flags for wheelchair users.

Radiologist in scrubs reading brain scans on a monitor in a dim reading room4

One trip, one launch panel

AHA's 2026 data shows 43 percent of ISC attendees go to no other major scientific meeting, so this is the year's one chance to brief many of them. We print the launch story, indications as you have them cleared and the display-only line for anything pending onto one panel at reading height.

Logistics for International Stroke Conference 2027, handled

Freeman is ISC's decorator, audio-visual and shipping contractor. Its warehouse at 960 Pleasantville Drive accepts crated, boxed or skidded freight from January 11, 2027, adds a late charge after February 1, and turns away uncrated or pad-wrapped pieces, so we crate everything and send certified weight tickets. Direct shipments reach the George R. Brown from February 8. Move-in runs February 8 and 9, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; dismantle starts at 5 p.m. Thursday and every crate must be out by noon Friday. In our experience at the George R. Brown, Texas's right-to-work law lets our project manager and vetted local labor build, while Freeman still moves material from dock to booth. The Hilton Americas-Houston connects by skywalk.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our George R. Brown Convention Center exhibitor guide.

Hall guide

AHA builds the Science & Technology Hall inside the George R. Brown, a two-level building with exhibit halls on Level 1 and more on Level 2. AHA's floor plan sets your spot; here is how the halls this building uses shape a booth.

Halls A to E, Level 1

Five halls of roughly 125,000 to 130,000 square feet each, per Purple's venue guide; B, C and D are column-free, and Hall E came with the 2003 expansion and its newer dock access.

Our advice: Islands and hanging signs are routine on Level 1, so a 20×20 with a Freeman-rigged sign reads from across the hall when your space lands here.

Halls A3 and B3, Level 2

About 223,000 square feet combined on the upper level, used for secondary exhibit space and association shows, with freight routed to that level separately.

Our advice: We route crates to the right level from the start and plan the install time for the longer freight run if AHA places part of the hall upstairs.

HeadQuarters and Learning Studios

AHA's hub that draws attendees into the Science & Technology Hall, plus Learning Studios where the American Stroke Association serves attendees snacks and lunch.

Our advice: Booths on the routes between HeadQuarters, the Learning Studios and the hall entrance catch the 12:30 wave, so we put the device model on that aisle.

ISC Innovation Zone

A dedicated area under overhead signage for new stroke and cerebrovascular technology, sold as 10×10 turnkey booths with wall graphics, furniture, carpet and power for 2027.

Our advice: The turnkey kit is bare beyond AHA's wall graphic, so we add a lit product riser, a demo screen loop and a counter sized to the footprint.

What Purple handles

  • Booth layout approval, engineer stamps and the hanging-sign notice to AHA and Freeman
  • EAC Notification of Use and the $1 million insurance certificate, amounts matched
  • Benchtop vessel models, phantom stations and camera feeds built into the counter
  • Display-only lines and approved claims printed in our shop
  • Crated freight to Freeman's Pleasantville Drive warehouse before February 1
  • Install and dismantle in Houston led by our own project manager

Timeline, counted back from move-in

EAC Notification of Use and proof of insurance due to AHA: January 22, 2027. AHA does not extend this deadline: if it is missed, no outside contractor may work in your booth, so we file both forms for you well before the date.

We need design sign-off by early December 2026.

  1. Early December 2026Design sign-off; island schematics, engineer stamps for anything over 10 feet and the hanging-sign drawing prepared for AHA's December 31 layout approval.
  2. December 2026 to mid-January 2027Production in our Fishkill, NY shop: device stations, benchtop model mounts, screens and fabric graphics with your approved claims.
  3. January 11–22, 2027Freeman discount orders by January 11; EAC Notification of Use, insurance certificate, electrical and Booth Activities Form by January 22; crates ship to Freeman's warehouse.
  4. February 8–9, 2027Move-in at the George R. Brown, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with our own project manager; flooring down by 2 p.m. Tuesday and every station tested.
  5. February 10–11, 2027Science & Technology Hall open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; staff peak for the 12:30 to 2:30 break each day.
  6. February 11–12, 2027Dismantle Thursday 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to noon; the booth goes to storage or your next neuroscience meeting.

Purple planning timeline. Official move-in, freight target and order deadlines come from your exhibitor kit and assigned schedule; we confirm them against your booth when you book.

International Stroke Conference exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before International Stroke Conference

How much does a booth at the International Stroke Conference 2027 cost?

Most neurovascular and imaging exhibitors here fit a 10×20: Purple rentals run $7,500 to $15,000 and custom builds $15,000 to $45,000, while a custom 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000. Vessel-model stations, imaging screens and island engineering move the number at ISC. AHA's space is separate, $48 per square foot for 2027, or $9,600 for a 10×20.

What is the deadline to order a booth for ISC 2027?

AHA wants booth layouts for islands of 400 square feet or more, and for anything over 10 feet, approved by December 31, 2026. Freeman's discount closes January 11, 2027, and the EAC forms, electrical and Booth Activities Form are due January 22. For a custom build we need your design signed off in early December 2026.

Can we rent a booth for ISC, and what does a rental include?

A Purple ISC rental includes the frame, fabric graphics carrying your claims and display-only lines, LED lighting, a device counter with a monitor arm and a lockable cabinet, and the flooring Freeman requires by Tuesday afternoon. Freight to the Houston warehouse, installation and teardown sit on the same fixed proposal, and the hardware returns to us after Friday's move-out.

Can we set up our own booth at the George R. Brown Convention Center?

In our experience at this building, Texas's right-to-work law lets your own full-time employees assemble the ISC exhibit, whatever its footprint, using company-owned tools. Freight still moves from the dock to your space through Freeman. Any outside installer, Purple included, needs AHA's EAC Notification of Use and proof of insurance by January 22, 2027, a deadline AHA will not extend.

Can we hang a sign over our booth at the International Stroke Conference?

AHA allows them on 20×20 and bigger islands only, no higher than 20 feet, with lighting built into the sign; inline and perimeter booths get none. Freeman installs every hanging piece, AHA and Freeman want written notice five weeks before the February 8 move-in, and the sign travels in its own crate to arrive a week before move-in. We send both.

What does drayage cost at the George R. Brown, and who pays it?

The exhibitor pays Freeman by weight. For this building Purple's venue guide plans around $95 per hundredweight in 2026–27, billed on at least 200 pounds, below every Northeast and Midwest venue in that guide, plus surcharges for late or uncrated freight. Anything reaching the warehouse after February 1, 2027 carries an extra charge, so we ship early and list drayage on the proposal.

Can we show a device that is not FDA cleared at ISC?

Under AHA's rules, anything the FDA regulates must follow FDA guidelines or carry approval. If yours lacks approval, the booth has to say plainly that the product is shown for display and education only and cannot be used or bought in the U.S. AHA may shut part of an exhibit over this, so we print that wording onto the product panel itself.

Can we hand out giveaways or run a drawing at ISC?

Giveaways follow the AMA ethical guidelines on gifts to physicians, tie to your own products and need AHA's approval through the exhibitor service kit first. Games, raffles or contests that make people pay are banned; a drawing for an incentive prize needs prior approval. We design lead capture around the device demo so it works without a prize.

Can we reuse our ISC booth at other neuroscience meetings?

Our ISC booths break down into modules that travel on to the AAN Annual Meeting in Washington, the CNS Annual Meeting or SIR in Los Angeles with new graphics. Between shows it stays in our storage, the display-only lines get updated as clearances change, and we ship it to the advance warehouse each show names.

When is the International Stroke Conference 2027?

ISC 2027 opens Tuesday, February 9 with the pre-conference symposia and the State of the Science Stroke Nursing Symposium, and the main sessions run Wednesday, February 10 to Friday, February 12. The Science & Technology Hall is open Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central, and the 2028 meeting moves to Los Angeles, February 16–18.

Where is ISC 2027 held?

At the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas, on the east side of downtown Houston. Freeman receives direct freight at the building from February 8, 2027, a skywalk links the Hilton Americas-Houston to the hall, and the Convention District stop on METRORail is right outside. AHA books rooms only through onPeak.

How many people attend the International Stroke Conference?

AHA counted 6,700+ total attendees at ISC 2026 in New Orleans, 5,600+ of them professionals, with 3,440+ physicians and other stroke professionals, 1,280+ nurses and nurse practitioners and 595+ scientists; 87 percent came from the U.S. Earlier meetings drew 5,900+ in Los Angeles (2025), 6,000+ in Phoenix (2024) and 5,600+ in Dallas (2023).

Is the International Stroke Conference open to the public?

No, it is a professional scientific meeting run by the American Heart Association and its American Stroke Association division. Exhibitors get unlimited exhibit-only badges for booth staff and for the VIP customers they invite to the hall. Minors under 18 need a written AHA exception to attend.

Before you sign with anyone

Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for International Stroke Conference:

  1. Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
  2. Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
  3. Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
  4. What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
  5. Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
