What makes MD&M West different, and how we build for it
MD&M West is where device makers shop for the parts, materials and processes behind their products.Informa Markets runs five sectors on one Anaheim floor: MedTech, Automation, Design & Manufacturing, Plastics and Packaging, the last being the returned WestPack. The MedTech Conference, the SPE/MPD MiniTec and the IOPP Fundamentals of Medical Device Packaging course pull engineers into the building, and free Show Floor Education stages such as the MedTech Theater and Design Alley keep them on the floor between sessions. Informa says 74% of attendees make, recommend or specify purchases, so visitors arrive with drawings and open projects. The booth that wins hands over a sample, answers the tolerance question and books the follow-up.

Inside MD&M West 2027
Rules that shape your booth
MD&M West keeps its expo halls and conference rooms closed to anyone younger than 18, with no childcare on site. We plan booth staffing, demo operators and any family travel around that rule, so nobody is turned away at the hall door.
Informa issues up to 10 exhibitor badges per 10×10 of booth space, and extra badges cost more. We size counters, demo stations and the meeting table to the team your footprint's badges cover, so no one stands idle.
MD&M West asks each exhibitor to submit a booth review form confirming the display meets the show's display and safety rules. We file it with drawings showing every height, sign and machine position.
Freeman is the official contractor for material handling, labor, rigging, freight, signage, electricity and furnishings, and Informa warns against unlisted vendors. We order through Freeman and the Exhibitor Portal only, and work on the floor as your exhibitor-appointed contractor.
Booth space is billed 30% at 12 to 9 months out, 60% at 9 to 6 months and 100% six months before opening, and cancelling triggers the same 30, 60 or 100% liability. We build the booth budget on the same calendar.

Informa counts engineers, executives and business developers as 67% of MD&M West's audience, and the engineers judge you by the part. We give each hero sample its own lit position with a magnifier or a camera on a screen, label it with the material and process, and keep duplicates in drawers for handing out.
Draw Hall E under 13 feet 8
Hall E, which opens at 9:30 a.m. each 2027 show day and held the MedTech Theater and Design Alley in 2026, sits under a 13-foot-8-inch ceiling, the lowest of the five halls. For a Hall E booth we hold towers and signs well below it, put the brand on lit fascia and plan the install for the tighter clearance.

Logistics for MD&M West 2027, handled
Freeman is MD&M West's official contractor for material handling, labor, rigging, freight, electricity, furnishings and cleaning, and Informa warns exhibitors off vendors not listed in the Exhibitor Portal. Crates go to the Freeman advance warehouse, and drayage, planned at $170 to $180 per hundredweight here, sits on its own proposal line. Only a one-person display with no hand tools, under 30 minutes of work and nothing over 10 feet skips labor. In 2026 exhibitor badges came from the Hall A/B lobby, or during move-in from the back of Hall A/B by the loading docks. Our project manager runs the install with local labor we vet, and onPeak books the walkable Marriott Anaheim and Hilton Anaheim blocks.

Hall guide
MD&M West's 2027 floor plan runs across Halls A to E of the Anaheim Convention Center. Ceilings range from 25 feet in Hall D to 13 feet 8 inches in Hall E, so the build follows your hall.
145,841 square feet with ceilings of 18 feet 6 inches to 24 feet. In 2026 it held Center Stage, the main show-floor theater, and the press room; exhibitor badges are picked up in the Hall A/B lobby.
Our advice: Traffic gathers around Center Stage sessions, so we put the sample counter on the aisle facing the theater and keep the meeting table on the quieter side.
147,335 and 155,673 square feet with ceilings of 20 feet 6 inches to 25 feet; the back of Halls A and B sits by the loading docks.
Our advice: These halls take tall islands and hanging signs comfortably, so a 20×20 here can carry a sign that reads from across the hall.
The largest hall, 221,284 square feet under a 25-foot ceiling. In 2026 it hosted the Magic of MedTech Zone, 50+ exhibitors marked by MedTech Blue drapery.
Our advice: If you join the zone, we design your graphics to work against the MedTech Blue drape instead of fighting it.

How much does a booth at MD&M West 2027 cost?
Start with the 10×20, where most suppliers here land: rentals run $7,500 to $15,000 and custom builds $15,000 to $45,000. A 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000 custom. Machine supports, sample lighting and the power a running cell draws move the number at this show. Informa prices floor space separately through its sales team, and Freeman bills show services.
When do we need to decide on an MD&M West 2027 booth?
Booth space comes first: Informa's contract steps payments up to 100% six months before the show, with the exact dates printed in your contract. The booth build runs on our calendar: sign the design off by late November 2026, which leaves a 30 to 45 day build in Fishkill and time to file the booth review form before freight ships.
Can we rent a booth for MD&M West, and what comes with it?
A rental suits suppliers who change the sample mix from year to year. You get the frame, fabric graphics, lighting, a lockable sample counter with built-in magnification, freight, install and dismantle on one fixed proposal. Between shows the structure stays with us; your custom counter and fixtures can be kept for MD&M East in New York.
Can we set up our own booth at the Anaheim Convention Center?
Only a tabletop-scale display. In Anaheim your own staff may set up a display only when one person can do it without hand tools in under 30 minutes and no dimension passes 10 feet. Beyond that, Freeman labor or an exhibitor-appointed contractor builds it; we take the contractor route, with our project manager leading vetted Anaheim labor.
What does drayage cost at MD&M West?
Freeman handles material from the dock to your booth and bills it by weight at its exhibitor kit rate. We budget Anaheim freight at $170 to $180 for every 100 pounds, 200 pounds at the least, across the 2026–27 season. Sample cases and machines are the heavy part here, so we crate them with the booth and list drayage on its own line.
Which hall will our MD&M West booth be in?
The 2027 floor plan covers Halls A to E. In 2026 Center Stage sat in Hall A, the Magic of MedTech Zone in Hall D, and the MedTech Theater and Design Alley in Hall E, where the ceiling is 13 feet 8 inches. You choose your top three locations when you book, and we draw for the hall you get.
How many staff badges come with an MD&M West booth?
Informa issues up to 10 exhibitor badges per 10×10 of booth space, picked up on arrival, and badges beyond that cost extra. Anyone under 18 is barred from the expo halls and conference rooms, so staff the booth with adults. We size the counter and meeting table to the team those badges allow.
Can we reuse our MD&M West booth at other shows?
We design sample walls and counters on a modular frame, so the same booth can work MD&M East, MEDevice Boston or OMTEC with new graphics. Reused frames and crates also count toward the Sustainable Booth Contest. We store it between shows in our own warehouse and send it to whichever advance warehouse comes next.
Do you handle Freeman orders for MD&M West?
We order electrical, rigging, carpet, furnishings and material handling from Freeman, file the booth review form and our exhibitor-appointed contractor paperwork, and ship to the Freeman advance warehouse on its target date. You get copies of every order, and the AV comes from METRO, the show's listed rental partner, when you need screens.
When is MD&M West 2027?
MD&M West 2027 runs Tuesday, February 9 to Thursday, February 11, 2027. The expo opens at 10 a.m. each day and closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 4 p.m. on Thursday; Hall E opens 30 minutes early. Registration opens on Sunday, February 7.

No. MD&M West is a manufacturing trade event run by Informa Markets for qualified professionals, and attendees must be 18 or older. The 2026 expo pass was free for qualified attendees who registered early; conference passes for the MedTech Conference and workshops cost extra.
