What makes ASSP Safety different, and how we build for it

Safety is the annual conference of the American Society of Safety Professionals, and its expo is where EHS leaders shop for the year ahead: ASSP's audience survey shows 99% of attendees visit the hall and 74% have more than 10 years in the field. Expo Exclusive Time in the schedule clears sessions so attendees walk the floor. At Safety 2026 the hall ran its own program around the booths: Runway, the Safety Apparel and PPE Fashion Show, Flash Sessions and Tech Talks, the Career Advancement Center, the ASSP Resource Center and Marketplace, and the Parade to Prizes game. A booth has to explain a product and let people handle it in a few minutes.

Popular booth sizes at ASSP Safety

The Safety expo is mostly 10×10 and 10×20 inline space, with the larger PPE manufacturers, distributors and software companies on islands. Space runs $36 per square foot, so a 10×20 costs $7,200 before the booth. For try-on products we recommend a 10×20 with a product wall and fitting counter; for live fall-protection demos, a 20×20 island.

04 Designing for workplace safety, PPE and EHS technology brands at ASSP Safety

Four things we get right for ASSP Safety exhibitors

Woman engineer in a helmet inspecting a construction site with a clipboard1

Let buyers try the product

Safety managers buy what they can feel. We build glove walls with sizing, eyewear and hearing protection on try-on counters with mirrors, and harness displays on mannequins so a visitor can handle the hardware and see the fit before talking price.

Silver screws lying beside safety glasses on a metal workbench2

Engineer fall-protection demos properly

Anchor, lifeline and harness demos need a frame rated for the load and a clear fall zone. We design the structure, pull the rigging and floor-load questions into the exhibitor kit forms early, and keep demo areas inside your footprint and away from the aisle.

3

Group the booth by hazard

EHS buyers think in hazards and standards, not catalog pages. We organize walls by head, eye, hand, hearing, respiratory and fall, put the rating on every label, and give your software or training offer its own screen so it does not compete with the gear.

4

Plan for Expo Exclusive Time

When sessions pause, the hall fills in bursts. We keep the front of the booth open for quick try-ons and game-card visitors, put one clear product claim at eye level for the aisle, and set a seated table further back for directors who want to talk about a program.

05 Ernest N. Morial Convention Center · New Orleans

Logistics for ASSP Safety 2027, handled

The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center runs about two miles along the Mississippi across divisible Halls A to J, so dock-to-booth distance changes a lot with your hall. Louisiana is a right-to-work state and full-time employees can set up their own booth, but drayage, electrical and rigging stay with the union trades through the official contractor, and the building lends no carts or pallet jacks. Safety installation runs June 5 and 6, with no freight accepted on the Monday morning. We plan drayage at about $155 per hundredweight with a 200-pound minimum, read the exhibitor kit, ship to the advance warehouse and install with our own project manager and vetted local labor.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our Ernest N. Morial Convention Center exhibitor guide.

Hall guide

The Morial Center is one long building on the Mississippi with exhibit halls, a Great Hall and a theater. These are the halls this building uses for a national expo, and what each means for your booth.

Halls A–J

1.1 million sq ft of divisible exhibit space stretching roughly two miles along the river, split into halls sized to each show.

Our advice: Dock-to-booth distance varies enormously across the building, so we plan freight, carts and crew access from your exact hall.

The Great Hall

The 60,300 sq ft upriver addition, completed in 2013, with 25,000 sq ft of ballroom and prefunction space plus indoor and outdoor balconies.

Our advice: Used for receptions and general sessions; it sits at the upriver end, closest to the Warehouse District hotels where teams stay.

Theater and meeting rooms

A 4,000-seat divisible theater and 140 meeting rooms with two ballrooms spread across the building.

Our advice: The theater has its own rigging and AV rules, and meeting rooms suit hand-carry tabletop displays rather than built exhibits.

ASSP Safety exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before ASSP Safety

How much does a booth at ASSP Safety 2027 cost?

Booth builds start at $3,500 for a 10×10 rental, run $7,500 to $15,000 for a 10×20 rental and $50,000 to $120,000 for a custom 20×20 island. Rigged fall-protection demos and product fixtures move the number most. ASSP bills the floor space separately at $36 per square foot, and the official contractor bills show services.

When do we need to decide on an ASSP Safety 2027 booth?

Installation runs June 5 and 6, 2027, and no freight is accepted on the Monday morning before the expo opens. Working back, we need design sign-off by late March 2027 for a 30 to 45 day build and a mid-May ship date. Rigged demos need engineering time, so start earlier if you plan one.

Can we rent a booth for ASSP Safety, and what is included?

Yes. A rental includes the frame, your printed graphics, product walls, try-on counters, lighting, installation and dismantle, with our project manager on the floor. Many PPE brands rent the structure and own their product fixtures, so the fixtures travel to the next show while the rental frame returns to us.

Can we set up our own booth at the Morial Convention Center?

Yes, within limits. Louisiana is a right-to-work state, so full-time employees of an exhibiting company may set up their own booth. Drayage, electrical and rigging stay with the union trades through the official contractor, and the building lends no carts, dollies or pallet jacks, so heavy product cases go through material handling.

When is the ASSP Safety 2027 expo open?

The expo opens Monday, June 7 from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday, June 8 from 8:30 AM to 4 PM and Wednesday, June 9 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Expo Exclusive Time pauses sessions so the hall fills in bursts, and the short Wednesday leads straight into dismantle from 1 PM.

What does drayage cost at ASSP Safety and who pays it?

You pay it, through the official contractor's material handling order. Our planning figure for the Morial Center is about $155 per hundredweight for 2026 and 2027, with a 200-pound minimum per shipment; the Safety exhibitor kit carries the exact tariff. We weigh your crates and product cases and put the estimate on the proposal.

Can we reuse our ASSP Safety booth at other shows?

Yes. Safety brands often follow the same structure to the NFPA Conference & Expo in San Antonio a week later and to FDIC International in Indianapolis, with graphics swapped by audience. We build modular frames that reconfigure between inline and island footprints and store the booth between shows.

Which hall will ASSP Safety use at the Morial Convention Center?

The Morial Center splits 1.1 million square feet of exhibit space into Halls A to J, stretching about two miles along the river. Dock-to-booth distance changes a lot from one end to the other, so once your booth number places you in a hall, we plan the dock, freight route and crew parking around it.

Do you handle the official contractor orders for ASSP Safety?

We read the Safety exhibitor kit and order electrical, rigging, material handling and labor through the official contractor, file the freight paperwork for product cases and demo equipment, and send you one list of every order, its deadline and its cost before the discount dates pass.

Before you sign with anyone

Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for ASSP Safety:

  1. Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
  2. Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
  3. Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
  4. What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
  5. Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
