Pigs, tools and integrity data: PPIM 2027 booths in Houston
PPIM buyers are integrity engineers who want to see the in-line inspection tool, the sensor ring and the dig result side by side. In Hall E1 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Texas law lets your staff help assemble, and we plan dock freight for long pig bodies.
- Jan 25–28, 2027 · GRB Hall E1
- 4,485 attendees in 2026
- Award entries due Dec 10
What makes PPIM different, and how we build for it
PPIM calls itself the forum devoted exclusively to pigging for pipeline maintenance and inspection, and 2027 is Clarion Technical Conferences' 39th edition. The week starts with eleven training courses, from API 1163 verification to API 1183 dent management, then opens Hall E1 with an evening reception on Tuesday, January 26. Plenary panels on PHMSA's repair-criteria ruling and MAOP reconfirmation bring operators from Enbridge, Phillips 66, Williams and TC Energy. Exhibitors compete for the PPIM 2027 Innovation Award, decided by public vote and announced in the hall. Booths here sell inspection accuracy, so the tool itself and the data it produced carry the stand.
The ILI tool or sensor module on display, run statistics and sizing performance they can compare, and a technical person who can talk tolerance, not marketing.
Evidence that your inspection, repair or monitoring service solves a PHMSA-driven problem on lines like theirs, with case data from named pipeline types and diameters.
A clear picture of your service scope, field crews and software, plus a seat at the evening receptions to start a relationship.
Your team in Houston
One project manager, two shops, the whole PPIM build
Your PPIM booth is built in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, or at our Las Vegas hub, shipped to the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hall E1 and installed by vetted local labor with our own project manager on the floor. Turnaround is a predictable 30 to 45 days, with pre-show QA and secure storage for your PPIM booth.
At PPIM, your team walks into a booth that is lit and stocked. You just show up.
Inside PPIM 2027
Rules that shape your PPIM booth
The 2027 exhibition first opens on Tuesday, January 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. as the opening reception, then runs 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and to 2 p.m. Thursday. We schedule install so the booth is lit and staffed for that first evening.
The PPIM 2027 Innovation Award takes one entry per exhibiting company, with a summary of no more than 300 words and three to five graphics, due December 10, 2026. We match the booth panel to the entry so voters find it.
Clarion says legitimate PPIM 2027 bookings can only be made directly with the hotels it lists, and tells attendees to beware of third-party hotel offers. We book installer rooms the same way.
Programs worth planning for
Open to all PPIM exhibitors; entries due December 10, 2026, five finalists named January 8, 2027, public voting January 9–27, winner announced at the Wednesday reception in the hall.
Eleven courses on January 25–26, 2027, including pigging and in-line inspection, defect assessment, API 1163 verification and API 1183 dent management, held on Level 3 of the GRB.
Two evening receptions in Hall E1, Tuesday 5–7 p.m. and Wednesday 4:30–6:30 p.m., with buffet, bars and live music for all delegates and visitors.
PPIM is the pigging and in-line inspection meeting among U.S. energy shows; choose it over AMPP's annual conference when your buyers are pipeline integrity engineers and ILI managers rather than corrosion and coatings specialists across many industries. Popular booth sizes at PPIM
Clarion sells PPIM space and sponsorships through its exhibition desk and publishes a 2027 floor plan and prospectus; the 185-company directory runs on booth numbers across Hall E1. We recommend a 10×20 for one tool and a data screen, and a 20×20 when you show a full-length pig or launcher.

One inspection tool or cleaning pig on a low cradle, a screen with run data and a back wall naming the threats you detect.

Case study · KLEEMANN
KLEEMANN at an industrial technology exhibition
A global elevator manufacturer’s interactive booth: real product showcases, digital simulations and a floor plan that guided visitors from the first step to the last.
KLEEMANN needed real products and digital simulation to work together on one floor plan, the same mix a PPIM exhibitor shows with an inspection tool beside its run data.
Read the KLEEMANN case study All case studies →“They handle everything end to end so clients can really just show up and not worry about anything. Doesn’t get any better than that.”

04 Designing for pigging, in-line inspection, integrity engineering, repair and pipeline monitoring companies at PPIM
Four things we get right for PPIM exhibitors
1Cradle the tool, label the sensors
Engineers at PPIM walk up to read the sensor ring, the cups and the module spacing. We build padded cradles at a height that shows the business end, with small labels naming each sensor type, so the tool explains itself while your staff is in another conversation.
2Put run data beside the hardware
An ILI tool means little without the dig verification. We pair each tool with a screen or printed panel of sizing results against field NDE, the kind of evidence the API 1163 course on Monday teaches attendees to ask for.
3Build for the receptions
The hall opens for the first time at the Tuesday 5 p.m. reception, and Wednesday ends with another one from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with buffet, bars and live music. We plan lighting that works in evening crowds and a counter where people can set a drink down.
4Show the innovation entry
PPIM 2027 Innovation Award finalists are shown on video monitors around the venue, and the winner gets a plaque for its booth. If you enter, we design a panel for the entry's three to five images so voters can find the real thing on your stand.

Concept rendering
Your PPIM proposal comes with a rendering like this

Where you could be at PPIM 2027
PPIM 2027 runs on two levels of the George R. Brown Convention Center: the exhibition in Hall E1 on Level 1 and the courses and conference upstairs on Level 3.
Hall E1, Level 1
The exhibition hall and registration area, part of Hall E, which Purple's venue guide puts at about 130,000 square feet and dates to the 2003 expansion.
Our advice Ground level with newer dock access suits long ILI tools; we crate by tool length and book forklift time.
Grand Ballroom, Level 3
Home of the PPIM conference sessions on January 27–28, including the PHMSA repair-criteria and MAOP panels.
Our advice Traffic comes down to the hall in breaks, so we make the booth readable from the hall entrance in the first seconds.
Level 3 Rooms 360 and 370
Training-course check-in from 7:30 a.m. on Monday, January 25, before the exhibition opens.
Our advice Course attendees arrive with fresh API 1163 and API 1183 questions; we put validation data front and center for them.

Logistics for PPIM 2027, handled
PPIM fills Hall E1 on Level 1 of the George R. Brown Convention Center, the newer end of the building added in the 2003 expansion, with dock access suited to long crates. The center has no tunnel link to downtown, so pig bodies, launchers and display cradles all arrive at the docks; Clarion posts loading dock directions on its venue page. Under Texas right-to-work law your own employees may help assemble, while the show's contractor moves freight to the booth. Purple budgets GRB drayage at about $95 per hundredweight for 2026 to 2027, and our project manager supervises install and teardown.
Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for the building that hosts PPIM are in our George R. Brown Convention Center exhibitor guide.
What Purple handles

- Run-data panels and screens beside the hardware
- Reception-ready lighting and counters for Hall E1 evenings
- Innovation Award display panel
- Long-crate freight to the GRB docks
- A Purple project manager on the Hall E1 floor

PPIM exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before PPIM
When is PPIM 2027?
Clarion has set PPIM 2027 for Monday, January 25 through Thursday, January 28, 2027. Training courses fill January 25–26, the exhibition opens January 26 with an evening reception, and the conference sessions run January 27–28. The hall closes at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 28.
Where is PPIM 2027 held?
Downtown Houston's GRB hosts it again. The exhibition and registration are in Hall E1 on Level 1, conference sessions in the Grand Ballroom on Level 3, and training-course check-in in Level 3 Rooms 360 and 370.
What are the PPIM 2027 exhibition hours?
Tuesday, January 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. as the opening reception; Wednesday, January 27 from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a reception from 4:30 p.m.; and Thursday, January 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
How many people attend PPIM?
PPIM 2026, the 38th edition, drew 4,485 attendees from 36 countries, with 190 exhibiting companies, 12 training courses and 72 conference papers, per Clarion's key facts. The 2027 exhibitor directory lists 185 companies so far.
Who organizes PPIM?
Clarion Technical Conferences, a Houston publisher and conference organizer for oil and gas production and pipeline engineers, runs PPIM, its training courses and the exhibition. Exhibition and sponsorship enquiries go to Clarion's sponsorship and exhibition desk.
Who exhibits at PPIM?
In-line inspection and pigging companies such as ROSEN, T.D. Williamson and Baker Hughes' Process & Pipeline Services, inspection and NDT firms, integrity engineering consultants, repair and coating suppliers, software and data companies, and pipeline equipment rental firms.
How much does a PPIM booth cost?
Clarion shares exhibition options in its 2027 prospectus and through its sales contact rather than on the open site. On our side, a 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000; a custom 20×20 for a full-length tool runs $50,000 to $120,000, with cradles and screens moving the price.
What is the PPIM 2027 Innovation Award?
An award open to every PPIM exhibitor, one entry per company: a 300-word summary plus three to five graphics, due December 10, 2026. Judges name five finalists on January 8, 2027, attendees vote until January 27, and the winner is announced at 5 p.m. that day in the hall.
Where should PPIM exhibitors stay?
Clarion lists discounted rates at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Houston Downtown Convention Center ($289), Home2 Suites ($282) and Tru by Hilton ($272) near the GRB, booked directly with each hotel. Clarion warns attendees to beware of third-party hotel offers.
Can we show a full-size pig or ILI tool at PPIM?
PPIM booths regularly feature inspection tools, and Hall E1 sits on the GRB's ground level with dock access. We engineer a cradle from the tool's length and weight, crate it for the dock and set it in place before the Tuesday reception.
Can our own staff set up the booth at the GRB?
Your own full-time staff may put the booth together with their own tools, since Texas is a right-to-work state. Freight still moves from dock to booth through the show's contractor, which we book on the official schedule.
When do we need to decide on our PPIM booth?
Early December 2026, so the build fits before the holidays and freight lands in mid-January. If you enter the Innovation Award, the December 10, 2026 entry deadline comes first and the booth panel can be designed at the same time.
Can we reuse the PPIM booth at other pipeline and energy shows?
A tool-and-data booth adapts to NAPE Summit a week later at the same GRB, to the AMPP corrosion conference in Columbus in April and to Gastech in Houston in September. We store it between shows and swap the graphics.
Before you sign for PPIM
Five things to ask every builder quoting PPIM:
- Will the proposal show every PPIM fee, including show contractor charges?
- Who builds the PPIM booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Does your project manager stay on the floor through install and dismantle in Houston?
- What exactly is in the rental, and what does PPIM bill?
- Where does the booth go after PPIM, and what does storage cost?
Common situations
Already own a booth? Bring it: we refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it at PPIM and store it until the next show. The structure you paid for stays in use.
Exhibiting from outside the US? For PPIM, we act as your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, and one project manager who answers your emails in your time zone.
Short on time? In two to three weeks, a rental with your graphics can be ready for Houston. You will know on the first call what is realistic for your PPIM date.
