Owners, design-builders and engineers reach the DBIA Expo Hall in short bursts between education tracks, so your booth has to state its project case before the lunch line moves on. We build to DBIA's 8-foot rear-half and 16-foot island limits and file the outside-contractor request in writing.

What makes DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo different, and how we build for it
The Design-Build Conference & Expo is the Design-Build Institute of America's national meeting and the only one built entirely around design-build delivery.Owners come on DBIA's Owner Scholarship Program, practitioners come for five education tracks, and the Expo Hall opens only around meals and receptions. DBIA's 2026 floor plan also holds the VDC & Technology Pavilion, where the VDC Showcase runs short product demos, and a Prize Aisle Destination Passport that pulls attendees to sponsor booths. The Project/Team Awards dinner draws nearly 800 people, and preconference VDCLEx brings construction-technology leads in a day early.
Agency and university owners often attend on a DBIA scholarship to learn how to buy design-build; they want proof from finished projects, delivery-method data and a person who can explain procurement in plain terms.
Preconstruction and business-development leads look for partners, software and building systems that shorten schedules, so a booth needs project outcomes, not product lists.
Virtual design and construction managers arrive with VDCLEx; they test software and reality-capture tools hands-on and remember the booth with a working model on a screen.
Your team in Cleveland
Two shops behind your DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo booth
We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the venue, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Builds take a predictable 30 to 45 days, with secure storage and pre-show QA.
When your team gets to the host city, the booth is lit and stocked. You just show up.
Inside DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo 2027
DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo rules that shape your booth
DBIA allows 8 feet of height only in the rear half of an inline space, limits the half toward the aisle to 4 feet and caps islands at 16 feet. We design the tall project wall at the back and a low counter at the front.
DBIA prohibits selling goods or services on the floor without written approval and bans lotteries, contests and games of chance; DBIA approves every giveaway. We build a lead-capture point instead of a prize wheel.
An independent installer or AV firm needs the exhibitor's written request to DBIA naming the company, its contacts and its services, and must wear a work pass on the floor. We prepare the letter and the insurance paperwork that goes with it.
DBIA requires exhibits to be fully set one hour before the event opens and may resell space not occupied by then. We plan labor hours so the booth is complete before that cutoff on the final move-in morning.
DBIA may reject or require changes to any exhibit and states that exhibits will be related to the construction industry; outside food and drink are not allowed. We keep the booth on project delivery and order catering through the venue.
Programs worth planning for
DBIA gives approved public and private owners a complimentary full conference registration, with a travel stipend of up to $500 when funds allow, which is why owners walk the Expo Hall.
The preconference Virtual Design & Construction Leadership Exchange and the VDC Showcase in the Expo Hall; in 2026 VDCLEx sponsorship cost $2,500 for members, and the Premium level with a 15-minute demo sold out.
DBIA's awards dinner honoring design-build projects and teams, attended by nearly 800 people; sponsorships include reserved tables of 10 and extra registrations.
DBIA's conference is the only national meeting built around design-build delivery; choose it over Greenbuild when your buyers are owners and design-build teams on public and institutional projects rather than sustainability specifiers. Compare every building materials show we build for →

Popular booth sizes at DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo
DBIA sold 10×10 inline and premium spaces, 10×20s and 20×20 islands in 2026, and its sponsor packages bundle a 10×10, 10×20 or 20×20. Most of the Cleveland floor plan is 10×10 and 10×20 inline. We recommend a 10×20 with a project wall and a meeting table, or a 20×20 island for sponsors.

DBIA's own 10×20 space: a back wall telling two finished design-build projects, a screen for the model and a stand-up table for an owner conversation.

KLEEMANN at an industrial technology exhibition
A global elevator manufacturer’s interactive booth: real product showcases, digital simulations and a floor plan that guided visitors from the first step to the last.
KLEEMANN needed complex building equipment explained step by step on an exhibition floor; design-build exhibitors face the same task with a project owners must understand in minutes.

04 Designing for design-build contractors, design firms, building product makers and construction technology providers at DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo
Four things we get right for DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo exhibitors
1Work with DBIA's sightline rule
DBIA allows 8 feet only in the rear half of an inline space and 4 feet toward the aisle, with islands capped at 16 feet. We keep the tall project graphics on the back wall and use a low counter up front so owners can read the wall from the aisle.
2Design for three-hour traffic windows
DBIA's 2026 schedule ties the Expo Hall to a reception, two lunches and a networking hour, and lunch lines move fast. We put your one design-build result at eye height and leave a clear standing zone, so a conversation starts while plates are still full.
3Show the delivered project
Owners on DBIA scholarships came to learn how design-build performs on cost, schedule and quality. We print a project panel with the owner's outcome, a photo of the finished building and the delivery method, so your sales team can talk about results.
4No selling, no raffles
DBIA prohibits direct sales on the floor and bans lotteries and games of chance unless management approves them, and it hands sponsors the Prize Aisle passport instead. We plan a lead-capture station and a takeaway that earns a follow-up meeting.
Floor at a glance
Where you could be at DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo 2027
DBIA has not placed the 2027 floor yet. These are the Expo Hall areas DBIA laid out for Cleveland 2026, which shape where sponsors and technology exhibitors land.
VDC & Technology Pavilion
A 2026 zone for construction-technology exhibitors with the VDC Showcase, where VDCLEx Premium sponsors give 15-minute demos during set Expo Hall times.
Our advice Software and reality-capture exhibitors gain from a booth near the Showcase; we build a screen-first booth that keeps the demo running between talks.
Food and beverage points and bars
The 2026 floor plan spreads food and bar stations through the hall, because the Expo opens around the reception and lunches.
Our advice A space near a food station sees steady lines; we keep the front open so the people waiting can read your project wall.
Prize Aisle
Sponsors from Bronze to Diamond in 2026 are included on the Prize Aisle Destination Passport in the Expo Hall.
Our advice Passport visitors arrive with a card to stamp; we place a stamping counter at the front so the stop turns into a short conversation.

Logistics for DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo 2027, handled
DBIA has not named the 2027 city, so we plan from its standing rules and the 2026 Cleveland schedule. DBIA requires every display to be set one hour before opening, asks for any outside contractor in writing, and sets payment in full 180 days before the event. Booth space includes an 8-foot backwall and 3-foot side rails; floor covering, furniture, electrical, AV and rigging are ordered separately, and we file those orders.

DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo exhibitor questions
Questions exhibitors ask us before DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo
When is the DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo 2027?
DBIA has not set its 2027 conference dates, so they are not confirmed yet. Its most recent published meeting is Cleveland, November 4–6, 2026, and DBIA's 2027 calendar so far lists its Denver transportation and water conferences in April and the Federal Design-Build Symposium in Washington, D.C. in August. We plan your 2027 build as soon as DBIA posts the city and dates.
Where is the DBIA Design-Build Conference 2027 held?
DBIA rotates its national meeting between cities, and the 2027 city is not confirmed yet: the MGM Grand in Las Vegas hosted 2025, and the 2026 edition was set for November 4–6 at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland. Our planning on this page follows the Cleveland schedule and DBIA's standing exhibit rules.
How many people attend the DBIA conference?
DBIA reported a record 2,600 professionals at the 2025 conference in Las Vegas. Its 2026 prospectus describes more than 2,200 AEC professionals attending each year, and says 49% of attendees were new to the meeting, averaged over the past three years.
How much does a booth at the DBIA Design-Build Conference cost?
In 2026 DBIA charged members $4,900 for a 10×10 inline, $9,500 for a 10×20 and $16,400 for a 20×20 at the regular rate, with non-members paying $400 more. Space includes an 8-foot backwall and badges. Your booth itself is separate: our 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000.
What comes with DBIA booth space?
Each 10×10 in 2026 includes one full conference registration, two booth personnel registrations, an 8-foot draped backwall, 3-foot draped side rails, a company ID sign and pre- and post-show registration lists with opt-in emails. Floor covering, furniture, AV, electrical, lead retrieval and rigging are extra.
What are the Expo Hall hours at DBIA?
DBIA publishes Expo Hall hours city by city, and the 2027 schedule is not confirmed yet. The 2026 Cleveland schedule set the hall for November 4 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. (opening reception), November 5 for lunch and a 4:15 p.m. networking reception, and November 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. for lunch.
What is the booth height limit at DBIA?
DBIA's rules allow 8 feet only in the rear half of an inline space, with 4 feet in the half toward the aisle, and cap island exhibits at 16 feet. Sound or lighting may not project beyond your space, so we aim speakers and screens into the booth.
Can we use our own contractor at DBIA?
DBIA accepts independent service contractors such as installers and AV firms, but the exhibitor must request one in writing with the company's name, address, phone and the services it will perform, and supply written authorization if it will order services for you. We send that request for you.
Can we sell or run a raffle in our DBIA booth?
DBIA prohibits direct sales of goods or services unless it approves an exception in writing, and it bans lotteries, contests and games of chance on the floor. Giveaways need DBIA's approval. Sponsors can join the Prize Aisle Destination Passport, which sends attendees to their booths.
Who exhibits at the DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo?
DBIA accepts exhibits related to the construction industry: design-build contractors, architecture and engineering firms, building product makers, construction software and reality-capture companies, insurers, sureties and consultants. Its 2026 VDC & Technology Pavilion groups the technology exhibitors.
How do sponsors get better space at DBIA?
Every 2026 sponsorship level, from Bronze at $8,500 to Diamond at $50,000, includes priority point ranking for 2027 space selection. Diamond and Platinum include a 20×20 booth, Gold a 10×20 and Silver and Bronze a 10×10, so sponsors pick 2027 space ahead of other exhibitors.
Can we rent a booth for the DBIA conference?
We rent complete DBIA booths: a project-story back wall sized to the 8-foot limit, a counter, a monitor stand for BIM or drone footage, lighting and flooring, shipped and installed by our project manager. The same kit returns for Greenbuild, AIA or a state design-build event.
When do we need to pay DBIA for booth space?
DBIA's rules ask for at least 50% within 30 days of the contract and the full balance 180 days before the event, with no refund after a cancellation. Our design sign-off comes about 10 weeks before move-in, so the space is paid long before we build.
Is the DBIA Design-Build Conference worth exhibiting at?
DBIA is worth it for companies selling to design-build teams on public and institutional work, because it puts owners and practitioners in one room: DBIA reported a record 2,600 professionals in 2025 and brings owners on scholarships. Exhibit time is short, so the booth must work in reception and lunch blocks.
Before you sign for DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo
Ask any DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo exhibit builder these five questions:
- Will the proposal show every DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo fee, including show contractor charges?
- Who builds the DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
- Will your own project manager be at DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo for install and dismantle?
- What is inside the rental price, and what is billed by the show?
- Where does the booth go after DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo, and what does storage cost?
