We build Equip booths in two parts: an indoor stand where dealers write programs, and an Outdoor Demo Yard lot where contractors drive the mower or UTV. Our project manager runs both on one schedule, since OPEI releases demo space only after your indoor booth is confirmed.

What makes Equip Exposition different, and how we build for it
Equip Exposition is where the green industry tries before it buys.The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute took over the show in 2022 and has since posted record attendance and sold-out exhibit space every year, reaching nearly 30,000 registered attendees in 2025. Hardscape North America shares the badge and the floor. The show covers nearly 190 product categories, deepest in mowing, landscape and hardscape tools, compact equipment and tree care. On the 2026 floor it splits into areas a booth plan must respect: the 30-acre Outdoor Demo Yard, the UTV Test Track, the Tree Care Arena and the New Product Showcase, each in its own hall or lot.
Seat time on the mower, trimmer or loader in the Outdoor Demo Yard, cut quality they can see on real turf, and pricing or financing they can take back to the crew.
Margins, floor-plan financing, parts and service support, and a quiet table during the dealer and media preview (a Wednesday morning in 2026) where a stocking order or a new line can be agreed.
Saws, climbing gear and battery tools handled in person, safety features explained by someone who works trees, and demos timed around the Tree Care Arena workshops.

Inside Equip Exposition 2027
Rules that shape your Equip Exposition booth
Outdoor Demo Yard space is open to every exhibitor but only after the indoor booth is confirmed, at $1.65 a square foot up to five times indoor footage (2026 rules). We size the lot to that multiple when we draw the indoor stand.
Demo driving, including the Outdoor Demo Yard, is limited to people 16 or older with a valid driver's license, and nobody under 12 enters the show (2026 rules). We build a sign-in desk that checks both before a key is handed over.
Booths must be finished by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before opening, when aisle carpet goes down and no more freight moves; force move-out begins Sunday noon (2026 rules). We schedule the build to finish a day early.
Exhibitors enter at 7 a.m. on show days, never more than two hours before opening or one hour after close (2026 rules). We stage demo units and restock charging stations inside that window.
Hardscape North America is co-located with Equip and all exhibitor rules apply to its exhibitors, while their services and benefits are managed by the HNA team (2026 help center). We read both sets of instructions when your paver or wall product shows with HNA.
Programs worth planning for

Equip sells indoor space by the square foot with two tiers, 100 to 400 square feet and over 400, and outdoor demo space only in proportion to your indoor booth. Most equipment makers pair an indoor 20×20 or larger with a demo lot. We recommend at least a 10×20 indoors plus a lot for anything with a seat or a deck.

Four things we get right for Equip Exposition exhibitors
1Two booths, one brand
Equip releases Outdoor Demo Yard space only after your indoor booth is confirmed, at the low rate for up to five times the indoor footage (2026 terms). We design the hall stand and the yard lot together, same graphics and colors, with a card at the indoor counter that sends contractors to the right row of the yard.
2Win the dealer preview morning
In 2026 the halls outside Freedom Hall and the West Wing open only to dealers and media from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. We build a dealer table with program sheets and an order form, and keep a contractor demo staged for the afternoon crowd.
3Licensed drivers only at the demos
Equip admits visitors from age 12, but demo driving, including the Outdoor Demo Yard, is limited to people 16 or older with a valid driver's license (2026 rules). We set a sign-in desk that checks license and badge, plus a viewing line for crews who are not driving.
4Light the deck, not the logo
Contractors judge a mower by its deck, spindles and cut, so indoors we put the machine on a low riser with lights aimed at the deck and the cutting height dial, a mirror floor panel underneath, and short spec cards at kneeling height.

On the 2026 floor at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Equip's featured areas each sit in a named hall or lot. The 2027 building and floor plan are not confirmed yet, so we place your booth once OPEI assigns space.
Outdoor Demo Yard (2026)
Thirty acres behind the South Wing where attendees test drive and compare equipment, open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, 9 to 5 Thursday and 9 to 1 Friday in 2026.
Our advice The yard closes an hour before the halls on Friday, so we plan your demo team's final runs and the tent strike around that 1 p.m. close.
Freedom Hall and the Tree Care Arena (2026)
Tree care exhibits, the Tree Care Product Showcase and free hands-on workshops with Academy Trained and The Davey Institute, open to every badge from 9 a.m. Wednesday in 2026.
Our advice Arborist brands here get traffic before the dealer-only halls open, so we stage a climbing or saw demo for the first three hours.
West Wing (2026)
Home to the New Product Showcase, the Equip Golf Experience, the Drone Zone and the Work Truck Showcase, open to all attendees from 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Our advice If your launch is in the New Product Showcase, we print its showcase number and your booth location on a counter card so visitors find you afterwards.
Lot B, UTV Test Track (2026)
An outdoor course of curves, hills, rocks and bumps in Lot B, across from South Wing Lobby C, with UTVs from seven manufacturers and a rep riding along, plus the UTV Corral on the South Wing B porch.
Our advice UTV makers on the track still need an indoor stand; we tie the two together with matching flags and a QR card that books a ride.

Logistics for Equip Exposition 2027, handled
In 2026 Equip ships freight c/o KEC, 937 Phillips Lane, through an advance warehouse that takes crates October 3 to 15; move-in runs Sunday to Tuesday, booths must be built by 5 p.m. Tuesday, when aisle carpet goes down and freight stops moving, and force move-out starts the following Sunday at noon. The 2027 building and schedule are not confirmed yet. Kentucky is right-to-work, and our project manager leads the indoor and Outdoor Demo Yard builds with vetted local labor. If the show stays at KEC, we budget drayage near $125 a hundredweight from Purple's venue guide and label the yard lot freight apart from the hall crates.

How much does a booth at Equip Exposition 2027 cost?
Plan two budgets. OPEI's 2026 indoor space ran $27.10 a square foot for members on 100 to 400 square feet, about $10,840 for a 20×20 plus a $50 fee, and demo space $1.65 a square foot. Our build for a 20×20 rental island runs $16,000 to $40,000; custom islands $50,000 to $120,000, more with a demo lot tent.
How do we get Outdoor Demo Yard space at Equip?
Book indoor space first. Every exhibiting company can buy outdoor demo space, $1.65 per square foot for up to five times its indoor footage and $10.00 per square foot beyond that (2026 rates), and the outdoor application shows up on your Exhibitor Dashboard once the indoor booth is confirmed.
Can we rent a booth for Equip Exposition?
We rent both halves. Indoors that means a frame stand with fabric graphics, lighting, a dealer counter and risers for your machines; in the Outdoor Demo Yard a shade tent, flooring, a staging rail and a sign-in table. You ship the equipment and the people, we return the structure to our warehouse after Friday.
Can our own staff set up our Equip booth?
Kentucky is a right-to-work state, and in 2026 badged staff can reach the floor from 7 a.m. on show days, no more than two hours before opening or an hour after close. Crates that arrive by carrier still move through the show's material handling. We bring our own project manager and vetted local labor for the build.
Who can test drive equipment at Equip?
Visitors must be at least 12 to enter, and demo driving, including the Outdoor Demo Yard, is limited to people 16 or older with a valid driver's license (2026 rules). On the UTV Test Track you drive with a manufacturer representative. We design your lot with a license check at sign-in and a viewing area for younger crew.
What does drayage cost for Equip in Louisville?
The 2027 building and its material handling rates are not confirmed yet. For Kentucky Exposition Center crates, which carried the 2026 show, Purple's venue guide budgets roughly $125 a hundredweight in 2026 and 2027, with any shipment under 200 pounds billed as 200. Mowers and compact machines are heavy, so we price their freight on its own line and keep it apart from the hall crates.
Which hall will our Equip booth be in?
In 2026 the Tree Care Arena sits in Freedom Hall, the New Product Showcase, Drone Zone and Work Truck Showcase in the West Wing, the Outdoor Demo Yard behind the South Wing and the UTV Test Track in Lot B. Your hall follows the space OPEI assigns, and the 2027 floor plan is not confirmed yet.
Can we reuse our Equip booth at other shows?
We build Equip stands in modules so the walls and risers can travel to The Utility Expo, the ARA Show or Work Truck Week with fresh graphics, and the demo tent kit goes to any outdoor event. Between shows it stays in our warehouse, where we refresh graphics and repair what a week in the yard did to it.
Do you handle the Equip exhibitor dashboard and service orders?
We do. We work from your Map Your Show Exhibitor Dashboard, place electrical, material handling and rigging orders, file the outdoor application once indoor space is confirmed, book the marshalling yard slot and track the advance warehouse window. You see every order before it goes in.
When is Equip Exposition 2027?
October 19–22, 2027 in Louisville. The 2027 floor days and hours are not confirmed yet; in 2026 the Tuesday is the welcome reception and the trade show floor runs Wednesday to Friday. Equip stays in Louisville for October 17–20, 2028, moves to Orlando for October 10–12, 2029 and returns to Kentucky in 2030.

In Louisville; OPEI has not named the 2027 building, so the venue is not confirmed yet. How many people attend Equip Exposition?
Nearly 30,000 landscapers, dealers and manufacturers attended in 2025, from all 50 states and 52 countries, with landscaper attendance up 12 percent and dealers up 17 percent. The show drew more than 28,500 in 2024, about 27,000 in 2023 and 25,000 in 2022. Attendance for 2027 is not confirmed yet.
Is Equip Exposition open to the public?
No. Equip is a green industry trade show open to contractors, landscape professionals, dealers, retailers, distributors and manufacturers. Ad agencies and media-sales roles are not admitted as attendees, non-exhibiting vendors pay $450 a badge, and no one under 12 gets in (2026 rules).
Who organizes Equip Exposition?
The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, which took over the show in 2022 and has sold out exhibit space every year since. Hardscape North America, produced by the Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association, is co-located, and one badge covers both shows.
