Space first: MPMA members pay $26.50 and non-members $30.50 per square foot, so a member 10×20 is $5,300 before the build. A Purple 10×20 rental runs $7,500 to $15,000; a custom 20×20 island with a running machine runs $50,000 to $120,000. Rigging, Freeman Electric power and Detroit union labor move the total.

MPMA bills in three steps: 30% was due March 9, 2026, 60% is due November 6, 2026 and the full amount by March 8, 2027. Cancellations go in writing by certified or express mail and carry liquidated damages. Design sign-off with us lands in mid-August 2027.

Yes. A rental for MPT Expo is a modular frame with fabric graphics, lit plinths sized to your gears or bearings, a lockable cabinet for samples and gauges, flooring and a counter for RFQs. Freight, general contractor orders, installation and return of the rental all sit on one fixed proposal.

Only up to a point. Huntington Place's exhibitor rules let full-time employees set up a booth of 400 square feet or less without ladders or power tools; a step stool is allowed. Larger booths, power tools and anything overhead go to the union trades, and Teamsters unload every crate that arrives at the docks.

MPT Expo promotes live equipment and process demonstrations, and MPMA credited exhibitors who brought running equipment in 2025. Your machine needs power from Freeman Electric, a marked operating area and rigging by the union. We lay out guarding and coolant containment and match them to the 2027 Exhibitor Services Manual when it publishes.

The show's general contractor sets material handling rates in the exhibitor kit, billed by weight, because Huntington Place has no warehouse of its own and Teamsters unload at the docks. Machine tools are heavy, so we price drayage and rigging as separate lines on your proposal once the 2027 kit publishes.

The plinths and sample walls suit the Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia in Houston a week earlier, ASM Heat Treat in Columbus or iVT Expo USA in Rosemont. We store the booth between shows, swap graphics for each audience and recut plinths when your sample set changes.

We do. When MPMA releases the 2027 Exhibitor Services Manual in spring 2027, we file the contractor forms, book freight targets, order Freeman Electric power, rigging for any machine and catering through the venue, and send you each confirmation. You approve the totals before anything is placed.

The show floor opens Tuesday to Thursday, October 26–28, 2027: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. The MPMA Fall Technical Meeting runs October 27–30. MPMA has set the following edition for October 23–25, 2029, also in Detroit.

At Huntington Place, 1 Washington Blvd in downtown Detroit. MPMA's prospectus points to an indoor People Mover station at the venue, about 6,000 downtown hotel rooms and a hub airport about 22 miles away.

MPMA reported 4,425 professionals at the 2025 MPT Expo and the co-located ASM Heat Treat together, with 170 exhibiting companies from more than 12 countries. In 2023 AGMA counted 2,268 attendees and 163 exhibitors for MPT Expo alone. Attendance for 2027 is not confirmed yet.

The Motion + Power Manufacturers Alliance, formed in 2025 through the merger of the American Gear Manufacturers Association and the American Bearing Manufacturers Association. MPMA runs its Fall Technical Meeting and education courses, taught by gear engineers, alongside the expo, and sells every booth directly.

It is a trade event for the power transmission supply chain, aimed at engineers, buyers and decision-makers. In 2025 exhibitors could send clients a guest pass invitation for a complimentary hall pass. Registration details and prices for 2027 are not confirmed yet.
