Hands on the device, two hall days: SVS VAM 2027 booths in San Diego

We build VAM booths around the counter where a vascular surgeon picks up the graft, stent or sheath and asks the hard question, with a seat nearby for the follow-up. At the San Diego Convention Center we work under the building's eight union agreements and route freight through its 50 loading docks.

  • Exhibit hall June 3–4
  • 1,300+ registrants in 2025
  • Housing opens March 3, 2027

What makes SVS VAM different, and how we build for it

VAM is where the Society for Vascular Surgery brings the whole vascular team into one building: SVS surgeons, the Society for Vascular Nursing and the Vascular Quality Initiative meet side by side, and the 2026 prospectus ranked grafts, peripheral vascular products and stents as the top three products attendees came to see. The floor is open only two days, and the schedule sends people to it: coffee breaks and lunch sit in the exhibit hall, the Opening Reception runs there Thursday evening, Vascular Live! presents from a theater on the floor, and the Hands-On Simulation and Interactive Lab runs 30-minute rotations beside the booths. Surgeons arrive wanting to hold the device, so the counter matters more than the sign.

Vascular and endovascular surgeons

The graft, stent, balloon or closure device in their own gloved hands, sizing charts and deployment steps on a screen beside it, and a rep who can talk anatomy and technique.

Vascular nurses, sonographers and allied staff

Wound care, compression and vein care products they can open and feel, ultrasound workflow shown on a real console, and plain answers on training and supply.

Practice leaders and VQI quality teams

Registry, outcomes and purchasing details in a seated conversation; the 2026 prospectus counted 67% of VAM surgeons as hospital-employed, so the value story has to survive a committee.

Your team in San Diego

Two shops, one project manager, every hall

We build in our own production shop in Fishkill, NY, and our Las Vegas hub, ship to the San Diego Convention Center, and install with our own project manager on the floor and vetted local labor. Predictable 30–45-day turnarounds, secure storage and pre-show QA.

Your team walks into a lit, stocked booth. You just show up.

Rules that shape your booth

Investigator meetings only, at the Marquis

VAM27 meeting space goes only to approved exhibitors, all at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, for internal staff and stakeholders, never VAM attendees, and the name must include "Investigator Meeting". Breaking the guidelines risks priority points. We keep customer talks in a seated booth corner.

Organizer rule

Giveaways educational, modest and approved

Show Management approves every promotional item in advance, physician items follow AdvaMed and PhRMA codes, and under CMSS Code Article 5.4.2 giveaways stay educational and modest, with candy individually wrapped (2022 rules). We design literature racks and sample-device trays in place of swag.

Organizer rule

Non-CE promotion kept apart

SVS holds promotional and ancillary events in spaces separate from CME sessions or with a 30-minute buffer, and signage marks them as non-CE (2026 prospectus). We keep in-booth talks product-focused and label any presentation screen as industry content.

Organizer rule

Plans 60 days out, no early teardown

First-time exhibitors and island or peninsula booths submit construction plans at least 60 days before opening, and packing up before the show closes costs space-selection priority points (2022 rules). We file the drawings early and schedule dismantle after Friday's close.

Organizer rule

Own-booth photos, 21 and over

Only the official photographer shoots the exhibit hall; exhibitors may photograph their own booth and nothing else, and no one under 21 enters the halls (2022 rules). We schedule your booth photos at the Thursday open and brief staff before the floor fills.

Programs worth planning for

Vascular Live!

SVS's interactive theater on the exhibit floor, where a sponsor gets a 25-minute slot with A/V during Thursday and Friday exhibit hours. In 2026 a standard slot was $6,500 and a lunch slot $8,500, one per company.

Official details

Hands-On Simulation and Interactive Lab

A lab inside the exhibit hall where each sponsor runs two stations with two 6-foot tables and power, and attendees join 30-minute rotations. In 2026 a sponsorship was $10,000, eight stations, with SVS reviewing each for health and safety.

Official details

Crossroads @ VAM

Up to four exclusive industry meeting rooms that sponsors fit out and brand themselves; in 2026 the rooms ran from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Friday, and a company qualified with $50,000 in branding and sponsorship spend, booths excluded.

Official details

Industry Lunch Symposia

Non-CE lunch sessions in a room set for at least 100, chosen by blind proposal review. In 2026 a symposium was $65,000 with A/V, a hot buffet and promotion; the VAM27 schedule shows them Wednesday through Friday.

02 Booths & pricing for SVS VAM 2027

Popular booth sizes at SVS VAM

SVS sells VAM space as inline booths and islands, priced per 100 square feet with an extra fee for each exposed inline corner. For a single device family we suggest a 10×20 inline built around one hands-on counter; companies showing aortic and venous lines do better on a 20×20 island with demos on two faces and seats in one corner.

Pixee Medical booth by Purple Exhibits

Case study · Pixee Medical

Pixee Medical at a medical technology congress

A focused, demo-first booth for augmented-reality surgical guidance, built so every visitor could try the technology while traffic kept moving.

Different specialty, same floor problem: Pixee Medical needed surgeons to try an AR guidance system in passing, and VAM surgeons likewise want a device in hand between plenary sessions.

04 Designing for vascular and endovascular device, imaging and vein care companies at SVS VAM

Four things we get right for SVS VAM exhibitors

Clinician in navy scrubs with a stethoscope adjusts the controls of an ultrasound console1

Counters for grafts, not posters

Grafts, peripheral products and stents led the 2026 list of what VAM attendees came to see, and a surgeon quoted in that prospectus prizes trying devices firsthand because vendor time back at work is scarce. We build lit counters at standing height with sample trays, glove stations and a screen showing deployment beside each product.

2

Plan for the Thursday and Friday rush

VAM's floor opens on two days only, and the 2026 hours gave about six unopposed hours, with exhibit-hall coffee breaks and Thursday's Opening Reception driving the busiest blocks. We design two staffed counters that each restock in under a minute, so a crowd at the 10:15 break never stalls.

3

Seat the surgeon who stays

Eighty-two percent of VAM physician attendees make or recommend purchases for their practice, by the 2026 prospectus, and those talks take longer than a demo. We add a quiet two- or four-seat table at the back of the booth, away from the aisle, with a screen for case images your team has approved.

4

Keep nurses and VQI teams in view

VAM co-locates the Society for Vascular Nursing and the Vascular Quality Initiative, so wound care, compression and registry buyers walk the same aisles as surgeons. We give each audience its own panel and talking point, with literature trays for nurses and a tablet demo for quality-data teams.

Logistics for SVS VAM 2027, handled

The San Diego Convention Center holds formal agreements with eight local labor unions and runs a union floor, so a Purple project manager directs a vetted San Diego labor crew from the first crate to the last. About 50 loading docks feed the ground-level halls, and Hall H has a 30-foot elephant door for oversized pieces. SVS posts the VAM exhibitor service manual about 90 days before the meeting with the official vendors, order forms and shipping details; we file every order from it, crate to the advance warehouse and put drayage on its own proposal line. The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, the headquarters hotel, stands beside the building.

Hall rules, drayage estimates and freight deadlines for this building are in our San Diego Convention Center exhibitor guide.

Hall guide

SVS has not placed VAM27 inside the San Diego Convention Center yet, so this is a guide to the spaces the building uses: ground-level Halls A to H, the Sails Pavilion upstairs, and the headquarters hotel next door.

Halls A to E

Part of 525,701 square feet of contiguous ground-level exhibit space, with 27 feet to the bottom of the truss. Halls A to C have floor boxes for power, data, water, drain and air on a grid.

Our advice: A grid of floor boxes lets us run power to a center device counter on an island without cords across the carpet.

Halls F to H

The taller end of the building, with 36 feet to the bottom of the truss and floor boxes for power, data and drain. Hall H has a 30-foot elephant door.

Our advice: If VAM lands here, a hanging sign and taller towers read across more of the room, and oversized crates come straight through the Hall H door.

Sails Pavilion

A 90,000-square-foot, column-free space on the upper level under the building's sail roof, used for receptions and registration.

Our advice: We build tabletop kits and slim banners that carry by hand to upper-level events and stay separate from the hall booth.

Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina

The VAM27 headquarters hotel beside the convention center, where SVS places every exhibitor meeting room; requests cover 6 am to 5 pm Wednesday to Friday, plus Thursday evening.

Our advice: We pack portable graphics, a screen stand and table covers so an investigator meeting room looks finished without a second build.

Timeline, counted back from move-in

We need design sign-off by mid-March 2027.

  1. Early March 2027SVS posts the exhibitor service manual about 90 days out; we pull the vendor list, order forms and shipping deadlines and build your order calendar.
  2. Mid-March 2027Design sign-off, with every device counter, screen and storage closet sized to your product list.
  3. About 60 days before openingIsland, peninsula and first-time exhibitor booth plans go to Show Management for approval, as the 2022 rules required.
  4. April to early May 2027Production in Fishkill, NY: counters, lit cases, fabric graphics and screens built and tested in 30 to 45 days.
  5. About 3 weeks before move-inCrates ship to the advance warehouse named in the service manual; electrical, rigging and labor orders placed.
  6. June 3–4, 2027Exhibit hall days after move-in earlier that week; once Friday's floor closes we dismantle and send the booth to storage or your next show.

Purple planning timeline. Official move-in, freight target and order deadlines come from your exhibitor kit and assigned schedule; we confirm them against your booth when you book.

SVS VAM exhibitor questions

Questions exhibitors ask us before SVS VAM

How much does a booth at SVS VAM 2027 cost?

Plan the build from the 10×20 inline tier: rentals run $7,500 to $15,000 and a custom 10×20 $15,000 to $45,000, while a custom 20×20 island runs $50,000 to $120,000. Sample trays, screens and lockable storage move the number at VAM. SVS bills space separately: $4,200 per 100 square feet inline and $4,500 for islands on the 2026 rate card.

When do we need to commit to a VAM 2027 booth?

SVS is releasing the VAM27 prospectuses in fall 2026, and the VAM27 floor plan is open for booth reservations. In 2026 a 50% deposit held a booth and full payment fell due in early March. Our build clock asks for your approved design around mid-March 2027, which leaves time for the 60-day plan review that islands and first-time exhibitors face.

Can we rent a booth for VAM, and what does a rental include?

Yes. A VAM rental covers the frame, fabric graphics, lighting, a device counter with glove station and sample trays, a monitor mount and lockable storage, plus freight, union install and dismantle on one fixed proposal. Your sample product travels in its own labeled case, and the rental frame returns to us after Friday's close.

Can we set up our own booth at the San Diego Convention Center?

Not the structure. The convention center keeps formal agreements with eight local labor unions, so walls, counters, lighting and rigging go up with union hands. Once our crew finishes, your reps unpack sample devices, literature and tablets themselves. A Purple project manager supervises the San Diego labor and files the exhibitor-appointed contractor forms the service manual asks for.

Can we hold customer or investigator meetings during VAM 2027?

Only inside SVS's channels. Meeting space goes to approved VAM27 exhibitors at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, first come, first served, through a request form opening in January 2027, and it is for internal staff, never VAM attendees, with "Investigator Meeting" in the name. Customer conversations belong in the booth, so we build a seated corner there.

What can we hand out at our VAM booth?

Under the 2022 rules, Show Management approves every promotional item before the meeting, and items for physicians must follow your AdvaMed and PhRMA codes. Giveaways must be educational and modest, of a kind found in a physician's office, and candy only individually wrapped. We plan literature racks and a sample-device tray in place of swag.

What does drayage cost at the San Diego Convention Center, and who pays it?

We plan San Diego material handling at roughly $176 for each 100 pounds, with 200 pounds as the smallest charge (our 2026–27 figure); the freight contractor named in the VAM service manual invoices you directly. Ultrasound consoles and boxed sample product weigh the most, so we pack them into the booth crates and show the estimate as a separate proposal line.

Can we run a hands-on device demo at VAM?

Inside your space, yes, as long as watchers stay out of the aisle: the 2022 rules confine every demonstration to the booth and make you keep nearby aisles clear. For a station-style workshop, SVS sold Hands-On Simulation and Interactive Lab stations inside the 2026 exhibit hall, where attendees joined 30-minute rotations.

Can we reuse our VAM booth at other shows?

Modular counters and walls let one VAM booth travel the vascular calendar: the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting in spring, the STS Annual Meeting in January or TCT in the fall, reskinned for interventional radiologists, cardiac surgeons or cath lab teams. It waits in our storage between meetings, and we refit the sample trays for each product mix.

When is SVS VAM 2027?

VAM27 runs Wednesday, June 2 to Saturday, June 5, 2027, with the exhibit hall open Thursday, June 3 and Friday, June 4. The Vascular Quality Initiative meets June 1–2 and the Society for Vascular Nursing June 2–3. Registration and housing open March 3, 2027.

Where is VAM 2027 held?

At the San Diego Convention Center, 111 W. Harbor Drive, on the downtown waterfront. The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina next door is the VAM27 headquarters hotel and hosts exhibitor meeting space. San Diego International Airport is about 10 minutes from the building, per the convention center.

How many people attend VAM?

SVS counted more than 1,300 professionals registered from over 44 countries at VAM 2025 in New Orleans, and more than 1,400 from over 44 countries at VAM 2024 in Chicago. The 2026 prospectus reports that 68% of physician attendees practice vascular surgery and 82% make or recommend purchases.

Who organizes the Vascular Annual Meeting?

The Society for Vascular Surgery, which represents more than 6,600 vascular surgeons and other vascular professionals. Booth sales and exhibitor questions go to the VAM exhibit office at Corcoran Expositions, while SVS handles sponsorships, Vascular Live! and meeting space. Booths are reserved through the VAM27 online floor plan.

Before you sign with anyone

Five questions to ask any exhibit builder for SVS VAM:

  1. Is every fee on the proposal, including what the show contractor bills?
  2. Who builds the booth: your own shop or a subcontractor?
  3. Will your project manager be on the floor for install and dismantle?
  4. What exactly is in the rental, and what is billed by the show?
  5. Where does the booth go after the show, and what does storage cost?

Common situations

Already own a booth? We refresh the graphics, repair what is worn, ship it, install it and store it between shows. You keep the structure you paid for.

Exhibiting from outside the US? We are your team on the ground: freight to the advance warehouse, show-service orders, installation and storage, with one project manager answering your emails in your time zone.

Short on time? A rental with your graphics can be ready in two to three weeks. We tell you on the first call what is realistic for your date.
